Guys, Newbie here. This forum is very helpful! Madami akong tanong. 1st: Pano ko malalaman what is the right occupation for me to nominate? I'm a Mapua ECE graduate - Java programmer for more than 7 years. Alin kaya dito? Analyst Programmer, Developer Programmer or Software Engineer? Thanks!
@dantz I believe that is correct based sa mga nabasa ko dito.
By the way if you don't mind. May binawas ba na years sa work experience mo? Ang bilis ng process syo ah.
So bale DIPLOMA na ang i-seselect..tama? (just to be sure...hirap tanggapin e..hehe)
Yup binawasan ako ng 5 years sa experience. Kaya medyo ma-dedelay ako. Either wait ako till Feb 2015 or retake ng IELTS and get Band 8.
5 yrs din binawas sakin, same here aqf Diploma assessed nila, buti na lang i still have 9yrs left for work experience, it depends ata sa school, pag nasa at least section 2 ang school mo Bachelor degree ata bibigay nila. so badly needed 7.0 sa ielts
9 years mo pla after ma-less na yung 5 years.hehe. thanks for the clarification.

@dantz 1994 ako nag graduate and not from AMA main. Yup I also thought na AQF diploma lang ako since nasa section 3 yung school. But luckily, binigyan ng bachelor's degree equivalent. Marami cgurong criteria pinag babasehan ang ACS not just the school itself.

Hi All,
I was 3 months short to 7 years of experience nung nag submit ako ng assessment for ACS, that was in April 2014. Then minus 2 years pa di ba so 3 months short ako to 5 years para maka claim ng 10 points. But now na 6 months na ung nakaraan and I plan to submit my EOI na, ok lang ba na mag claim ako ng 10 points kahit na sa ACS is hanggang April lng ang nakita nila? Same company and same position pa rin naman based dun sa last assessment. Mag ka issue po kaya eto?
Thanks.

Good question.
AFAIK, you'll need to get reassessed by ACS, cause it's says in the guidelines that the validity of the result is based on date of submission.
I'd also like to know the answer this question. Can anybody confirm this?

Ang pagkakaalam ko rin eh pwede as long as you're still in your current company(yong last sa pinasa mo sa ACS) tapos kelangan lang siya iprove.

@BreakEven, Sa pagkakaalam ko po alam meron din na-aassess galing sa AMA pero depends on two or 3 scenarios or criteria either of the following: 1. Graduated as cumlaude. 2. Has completed an MBA course. 3. Passed any PRC exam e.g. ECE board passer or accountancy etc.. 4.
So I think, di naman ito big deal.

Hello everyone! I think you shouldn't worry @catgon0208, please don't forget to provide/submit all evidence that you still work for the same employer with the same duties. Based on my understanding po sa guidelines ng ACS @altuser41 is right.

Hi Guys,
Ganun ba talaga? Or ganun yung recommended process? Thanks!
@thisisme you can do IELTS first before ACS or do both of them at the same time. They are not dependent with each other.
I am assuming that some does ACS first because of the amount of work in drafting the reference letter, gathering of documents however I believe both of them have the same effort and both of them have similar wait time (in terms of results being available)
I am also assuming some would prefer to have a good result from ACS before spending 8.9k in IELTS.
What I am doing (might be not the same with everyone) is that I have already submitted my ACS documents last weekend and will be taking IELTS on the 18th so that if ACS will be done with my application and IELTS result on the 31st will be in good standing then I can file EOI and may have a chance getting invited on the first round in November.
Whatever the ACS result will be, suitable or not. I will take the risk and do my best in IELTS. The objective is to get invited as early as possible and get that limited invitation spot.
I guess what I am trying to say is.. Is there something you can do today to get you closer to your goal for tomorrow.

IMO, Better mauna ang ACS. Medyo tedious kasi yung pagprepare ng docs for assessment. Then dati kasi 12 weeks or more ang waiting time ng result so at least while waiting for result focus ka nman sa next step which is IELTS.

Thanks.

AFAIK, you'll need to get reassessed by ACS, cause it's says in the guidelines that the validity of the result is based on date of submission.
I'd also like to know the answer this question. Can anybody confirm this?

Ganun ba talaga? Or ganun yung recommended process? Thanks!
