Need Advise_Type of Visa to apply

edited January 2012 in Other Migration Topic
I'm planning to apply for a visa but would like to ask advise from the group what should be the best type of visa to be applied based on my situation.

Permanent visa of my aunt and her family is approved last year. Their first entry will be this year May 2012, but only for 9 days, as they need to go back to continue and finish the education of the kids, especially my other cousin who will be graduating on 2013. They are planning to migrate permanently to AU on April 2013. And my aunt is telling me to join them that time. Can you please advise what's the best type of Visa I should apply?

In addition, I also have a fiance which we are planning to get married soon but not this year. Can I apply him as my secondary applicant?
Will greatly appreciate your advise on this matter. Thank you. :)

You could apply for a 175 or 176 I guess if you meet some of the requirements, you can use the visa wizard to check which visa is right for you.

Related to his question, I also have mine regarding the plan of her aunt. Is it possible for me to fly to Australia to meet the initial entry requirement then fly back here in the Philippines to finish some commitments? I plan on staying in the Philippines for a while (around 1-2 years) before flying back to Australia again. Anyone experienced this? Thanks.

Hi @Bryann! Yes, that's possible. Make an initial entry prior to the date given to you by the DIAC. You can stay in Australia for as short as 1 day only. It's just like having your passport stamped then go back to the Philippines to fulfill your other obligations. :)

Hi @Aijayann! ACS is Australian Computer Society. That's the skills assessment body for applicants with IT skills.

After you have checked what visa is applicable to you in the visa wizard, just download the appropriate booklet from the same website.

Regarding your question if pwede mo isama si fiance mo, there are visa types na pwede mo sya isama sa application mo like sa 175 or 176.

Thanks @JClem . Can I make my fiance as the secondary applicant and just pass the documentation needed as de facto partner? Is it ok?

Yes. :) And I think one of the document requirements are notarized statements from your friends or relatives nyo that you are indeed in a relationship. Not sure lang if may required years kayong in a relationship para maging eligible sya. Pero parang wala naman akong naaalalang meron. But check it to be sure. You may need to send also other proofs like emails or love letters. :)

Have you found out yet what type of visa you are eligible of applying? Try mo visa 176, state sponsored, mas mabilis ang processing nun. :)

Cge po, check ko yun.:) ..one question po ulit..when can you consider a person as permanent resident? May duration ba na dapat nakastay sya sa AU or once na ma-approve yung skilled permanent visa, considered as permanent resident?.. Looking for option if I can use my aunt as a sponsor, kaya lang newly approved palang visa nila.last year. And first entry nila this May pa.

    Thank you again.:)

@aijayann, better to go through DIAC's website and read skilled migration booklet # 6, and then get back to us when you need clarification.

You'll find out that relative-sponsorship is now useless. Neither you can use her visa for sponsorship nor get additional points unless your aunt lives in Regional Area. Cheers.

Thats true, i read somewhere else, a DIAC provisions that relative sponsorship is useless unless your relative lives in regional Australia and that you will apply visa class 475.
