Hello po, tanong ko lang po sana. kasi RMT na ako dito sa pinas last year lang po ako pumasa sa local boards ntin so meaning baguhan pa lang ako pagdating sa lab experience pero as of now mag 1 yr na ren po experience ko. eh yung ate ko kase sa ausi po sya nakatira ksma asawa nya. payag naman silang papag aralin ako dun for a university na accredited ng AIMS kaso ang di ko po alam if 4 year ba o 2years. mas prefer ko po sana kung 2 years lang iitake ko na postgraduate visa po ba kukunin ko nun then 2years lang ako sa university ng AIMS? o need tlga ung higher educ visa (4years) pero kung 4 years parang mas gusto ko nlang i take exam ng AIMS dto sa pinas. ano po massugest nyo? thank you po sa makakatulong! wala kasi ako makita online if 2 years nga ba or 4 years ulet kase graduate naman ako dto degree holder and Registered Medtech.

@Dino Better email the Univeristy that offers the Med Sci course if they will consider your TOR and whats the best move... Pero mas ok kng magwork ka muna for another year para maassess ka ng AIMS and mag exam ka nalang. Pag pumasa Med Sci ka na. Di na need mag aral for another 2 years at mas madaling mag enroll for postgrad course sa Aussie Univ. Kasi Med Sci ka na. Sa tingin ko lang ha..

@arecognizablejeans HI! thank you sa reply mo. so I'm done researchng about universities at nakita ko ung RMIT (Acreditted by AIMS) sa melbourne un malapit kse dun ate ko. its a 2 year coursework for postgraduate international student like me. msyado nga lang mahal 32k AUD per year so for 2 years 64k AUD na un. pero katapos naman sulit. anyway, mas mgnda nalang ba i take ko AIMS exam dto then if ever mapasa ko Med Sci na and no need to study na direct hanap na po ba ako work sa ausi nun? thanks!

@arecognizablejeans pero ittry ko po i send TOR ko sa university na un and wait ko next move nila. sana ma credit mga units or any subjects na tinuro dito sa pinas at sa kanila :( mas advisable nalang i take ko ung AIMS exam no?

@Dino from what I understand, there are accredited universities in Aus na after finishing this course, you are already assessed as a Medical Laboratory Scientist right away. This is a win win situation for you if you pursue the course in RMIT Melbourne kasi hindi mo na kailangang pagdaanan ang normal way na ginawa namin dito na first step paassess as Med Lab Technician and second step as Med Lab Scientist. Kasi you are considered as a Med Lab Scientist already according to the Australian standards.

Having said this, confirm mo din sa AIMS Australia at email mo sila kung ilang years ang course to be considered as Aus Medical Scientist-kung 2 years ba or 4 years. Sumasagot sila nyan sa email. :)

    email them at: [email protected]

Now, punta naman tayo sa point system for migration. Kapag natapos mo ang course sa RMIT and it is considered a full course of 2 years, may added points ka nyan sa point system. Pakicheck ang point system sa DIAC kasi may rule doon na dapat within 2 years YATA (this Im not sure so please check) dapat natapos mo yung course for you to have an added mark sa point system. Kasi kapag 7 years na ang lapse since the time you finished the course, wala nang points yan.

sa basa ko sa post mo, 1 year pa lang ang work experience mo. Please take note na kailangan at least 3 years working experience para magkaroon ng points sa immigration point system. This is just me ha, I would probably add 2 years of work experience in Pinas first then take the RMIT course in Melbourne na. So I have work experience na and at the same time Im already assessed as a Med Lab Scientist.

OR straightaway student visa then apply for migration. Etong pathway na eto I dont know pero naririnig ko din sa mga sisters ko na may visa na from student ay nagiging immigrant na.

Please also take note na migration especially our skill Medical Laboratory Scientist can change in the next years. Just early this year, we were hanging by the thread na baka wala na sa skill occupation list ang Med Lab Scientist sa SOL or Skilled occupation list. Not to cause panic but for your awareness na rin.

I feel you have the means to migrate to Australia, you just have to research the path of least resistance. best of luck!

@ophthaqueen Hi Ma'am, thank you po sa pag elaborate neto sa akin mas naintndihan ko lalo. anyway, kung pipiliin ko nalang po itake yung AIMS exam dito sa pinas, mas ok po bang mas matagal experience or khit 1 year lang po pwede na ma assess ng aims khit lab tech lang po then take the exam para maging Med Sci. may minimum requirement of work experience po ba sa pag take ng AIMS? wala kse ako mkita sa site nila e nkalagay include lang ung work experience, etc.

dun naman po sa RMIT, its 2 years postgraduate coursework po sa mga international student nabasa ko po kase. kaso its too much 64k AUD though kaya naman po kaso kung titignan mo kase mabigat den po dba. iba pa yung other gastos ko if ever. so maybe ill just take the AIMS exam nlang dito sa pinas.

tanong ko lang po ma'am, kapag po ba napasa na ung AIMS dto at na grant na visa mo (189) like you, pwede kana hanap ng work sa australia as med sci? wala nang aral aral po mam? kmsta po kayo, nasa Ausi naba kayo o aalis na nyan this year? congrats po pala mam! :)

@ophthaqueen hahaha! syempre po respect kaya ma'am. anyway salamat po, mas okay ata yan, if ever sana ma 1 take ko exam. last nalang po, nag ascpi po ba kayo? or haad? basa ko kase dito mas ok daw or medyo light ung exam ng AIMS kaysa sa ASCPI totoo ba un mam, kse fresh palang kayo mam o base sa timeline ng pag kapasa nyo. pag papatuloy ko nalang muna work ko dito as RMT and take many credentials as much as possible then by 2017 ill take the AIMS exam. thank you po! :)

The move affects people living in Australia and around the world who applied several years ago for so-called offshore visas under three visa types - 175, 176 and 475.

In short nothing to worry about as of now..yan kasi ung mga visa subclass na, skilled immigrant eh. Ngaun kasi skill select na eh, namimili na australia napapasukin. And dapat lang natin iworry kung gaano pakatagal malalagay ung Lab scientist sa skill list nila.

    Good evening every one

    Thank god
I have passed the professional examination

Thanks for all people in this forum for their help and e books

I really need your help in applying for visa

Is the test result sent by the AIMS is enough to send to DIBP as a positive evaluation for ANZSCO 234611 or not
Especially that this letter is not stating my actual experience period and only mentioning literally (more than three years)

I got confused after I received an advice from my migration agent that this paper is not accepted and I should send back for AIMS requesting a new assessment letter.

Do any one from our colleagues already granted their visa has any experience with this issue

    Please
    Help me in this confusion

Thanking you in advance for your usual co operation

    Warm regards

    Hi everyone!
Im new here...been going through the previous discussions and it seems very helpful so i decided to join..:)
Im an RMT here in pinas with over 18 yrs of work experience (yeah, pretty old, huh? Lol)
    HIV Proficient
Ive been to QLD thrice as a tourist and wish to find work there in the future.
Took IELTS last Sept with an over all band score of 7.5...already sent my assessment application to AIMS this month when I was in OZ and still waiting for the result.
(Im not sure if i can still get a total of 60 pts if i try the 189 or 190 visa since im already 43 na.)
Ive been searching for review centers for the AIMS exam here kaso isa lang ata yung meron dito which is located in Davao pa ( i live in Manila).I called them to ask if I can purchase review materials from them..P5,500 daw inclusive of a review book complilation and questionaires from past exams from ASCP-BOC post tests daw. Looking at the sample test ng AIMS pack, more on identification and essay ang style ng exams nila, unlike ASCP na multiple choice. So i was having second thoughts if i should get the review materials from them or if it will help my review kahit mukhng more on ASCP sila? Meron po b kayo alam na pwd mbilihan ng mga questionaires (previous exams) for AIMS?
Need advice po sana from those who already took the exam...
    Thanks in advance! :)

@sabrina Hi.

Thanks for helping me pass the exam.

@vangie ang ITR po is pagnainvite na sa visa 189/190. Di po sya included sa assessment ng AIMS, please look po sa website ng aims ung requirement, nandun po lahat ng kailangan. Halos finollow ko lang dun. COE will suffice.

Hi I'm new to this forum,

Just got a positive assessment from AIMS as a med lab tech. however the assessment letter is rather vague and doesn't mention if I am eligible to sit for the professional exam for med lab scientist.

Did anyone here have the same experience?

I called AIMS about this and they informed me that it should be mentioned on the letter that I can sit for the exam, or I cannot sit for the exam... Since they haven't mentioned anything about the eligibility to sit the exam and only mentioned my skill assessment as a med lab tech, I'd like to know if anyone else here had the same experience..

Have they mentioned any such thing in your assessment letter?

    Thanks in advance,
    Keshini

    Actually
They should mention it clearly that you are legible to sit to the exam
I wish you all the best

Hi @ali_a_bayoumi thank you for your prompt reply.

It doesnt mention it at all in my letter, just says about the assessed as lab tech. part.

Oh well, I'm awaiting the response from AIMS. I'll hope for the best I guess.
