What's the best choice: Using an agent or do it yourself?

thatbadguythatbadguy SydneyPosts: 147Member
Hi guys!

I'm planning to study in Australia next year 2017. What do you guys think is the best choice, use an agent or I'll just do it by myself?

Im planning to go to IDP Makati if using an agent has more pros over doing it by myself.

Thank you and mabuhay!

yes do it by yourself mas ok. kasi ang tagal kasi kapag may counselor ka and if you are choosing IDP its best na you keep on following up the school instead of seeking answer to IDP just so you know where you stand. Counselor has lots of clients to cater so i think there will be sort of delays. i dunno with the other applicants but thats what i have been experiencing ATM

DIY is still a better option? Though may letter of offer nko from CIT.

fix the reason of the visa refusal then relodge the visa application when everything is alright (exactly what we did way back 2010)

Depende sayo. Okay naman ang mag agent. Nakakatulong sila.

Kung wala akong agent, last year pa sana ako may visa or direct grant sana.

So mahirap magfollow up palagi.

Then required yung magapply muna sa mismong region ASIDE SA EOI. so inemail ko sya kinabukasan. Then yun nagmadali kami magsubmit. tapos 14 days after may invitation. Kakaloka. Hahahahaha.

If you have extra cash to burn go with Agent, if not DIY. Getting an Agent is costly I would say but it's not mandatory as per immi but on the other side it gives you a peace of mind that you are guided properly.

Hi! does anyone here familiar with RPS Migration? Plan ko po kasing magtake ng bridging program for nurses and RPS have this offer of 850k from the processing of ahpra eligibility letter to resident visa processing.. Do you think reasonable na po ung price nila? Thanks. :)

I also hired an agency to help me with processing. So far not good. Super delayed sila at palaging may aberya. Better DIY na lng and pinoyau of course. :)

@marzky i am not familiar jan. Sabi nya sakin, she would not recommend to have an agency. Parang ganun sabi nya.

@marzky sabi sakin nung friend ko, ang principal loan nya daw is 880k tapos dinivide daw nila sa may 3.8% na patong every month at 24 months to pay ang terms nya. Lahat lahat umabot daw sa 1.6M. Doble halos. :)

@marzky i personaly met sir RPS ksi ng punta xa sa school nmin dito sa perth. im not sure if reasonable ung 850k coz im not too familiar with bridging course. nka bachelor ksi ako naun and ung 850k is just for the tuition fee although 1 year ang course ko. hingi nya samin for PR is 2000aud. di pa kasali ang fees dun sa cisa application mismo. ung 2k professional fee lang ata

@akocpa ang laki naman non.. Yung sa rps naman na offer eh 850k na daw talaga tapos pwede din installment 50k per month for 17 months and no interest.. kaya iniisip din namin nung husband ko kung halos ganyan din magagastos namin sa diy kahit mag-agent na kami.,

@kymme ah ok.

idk the fees for bridging but kayo n bhala mg weigh. ksi ung visitor visa sa bridging bawal un mg work e. nk student visa pra bachelor pwede mg work. pero mlpag malaki nmn chance ma PR at abot ung points after sa bridging, then go mas mbilis ang way to PR and RPS has his ways to PR

Go with an agent if you:

    1. have money to burn (make it rain baby)
    2. do not have the time and patience to study your options bridging /485/course/ location
    3. do not have the time and patience to fill out the forms, skillselect, EOI etc.
    4. do not have the time and patience to contact/follow up with the school, medical, etc
    5. have unusual circumstances.
    6. maganda/pogi ang agent mo at may nararamdaman kang something between you
    7. have money to burn ($$cha-ching!$$)

Pero ang pinaka importante if going with an agent:

    Check kung registered sila.

@ARJanes hi po..i just want to ask if lodging of visa is online (scanned documents) or you have to submit the hardcopies of documents? at first kase po, i approached idp, but it seemed na hindi ako na prioritize..so, i decided to do it myself..already got an offer letter and paid tuition fee..and still waiting for the e-COE..kaya lang, i'm not sure sa lodging of visa on how to do it...been reading lots of articles and forums, and i have the checklist of documents already...if may COE na, i will lodge my visa immediately..kaya lang, i don't know how to do it... sa dibp na site lang ba, then upload the scanned copies? or dapat isubmit in person yong docs..? :)

As a migration agent myself, I would suggest DIY. Student visa is very straight forward. In any case you go for an agent, make sure they charge you the average fee an agent would normally charge you https://www.mara.gov.au/using-an-agent/working-with-your-agent/agent-fees/

I fist came to australia on a student visa in the early 2000tgrough IDP. They help out with the visa application, that's good enough. Just consider getting an agent if your applying for PR na Lang dahil that's when it gets complicated.
