Reply to @hotshot: gawain ko yan nung highschool ah. Pinapalitan ko extension name to ".txt" hahaha. Tpos nakita ng kuya ko. "para kang tanga, magpapalit ka lang .txt pa. Notepad 700mb?? Ok ka lang? Ako pa niloko mo parang hindi ako I.T." hahaha. Ang gawin mo na lang ilagay mo sa WINDOWS folder at irename mo na parang windows file. para talaga safe. Ingat ka nga lang sa win folder mo baka may magalaw ka iba.yare.

i just got an idea. although, this is quite expensive but for me it's worth the effort.

i'll do the following steps:
1) fit/trim my whole collection to my existing 2TB HDD
2) buy a new HDD of the same capacity
3) transfer all the goods to the new HDD
4) delete all the goods from the new HDD... who heard it right. ;-)
5) bring the new blank HDD with me to Oz (entrust my old HDD to any relative of mine)
6) recover the deleted files once i get to Oz using a recovery software

so far this is the best idea that i can come up with for now. i-check man sa airport makikita nila blank ung HDD so i wouldn't get any problem.

mahusay talaga mga pinoy sa mga ganyan hehe. tataba ng utak nyo sir. pwede din yan ipandora na lang pagdating dun. diko naisip yun ah. basta wag lang magdadagdag ulit ng files pagkatapos magdelete may chance kasi na maoverwrite nya mga residue files.

Yup kaya nga after ma-copy ung files to the new HDD delete agad tapos di na gagalawin til i-recover jan sa Oz. I'm using a software called "Recover My Files" by the way.

With regards to the old HDD na iiwan ko dito sa pinas, it's just a fallback in case magkaproblema ung data recovery may babalikan pa ako dito. I can deal with it in the future when i got the chance to go home again. :-)

Reply to @hotshot: yes sir so far ok naman. dati kasi may na-delete akong 2 movies (2GB each) and i was able to recover it with ease.

Another thing guys. If you want to do this idea of mine. Don't forget to get rid of the folders. Just retain the files. So dapat ang makita sa main directory ng drive is puro files lang and walang folders. This will make it easy for the recovery software to do its thing. My 2 cents. ;-)

sorry admin, kung mejo off topic to... but curious lang ako sa mga nasa oz na, kase ung mga home broadband na nakikita ko, mei max data limit per month. I don't understand baket po ganun. example $49.95 per month tapos 50GB data... dito ko po sha nakita sa site na to.

Ganun din po dito, kagaya ng Sky Broadband. Ang naiisip ko lang kapag nakita ko may cap yun plan is to prevent you from downloading so much. Usually yun mga high speed plans ganun. Pero depende kasi talaga sa ISP.

Dami naman ISP, so mamimili ka lang talaga.

BY the way if anyone here in NSW na nag dodownload ng HD Movies baka pwedeng mag pakopya inde lang kami maka download ngayon dahil masyadong mahal ang plan ng TELSTRA dito sa lugar namin , not unlike sa dati naming place merong available na TPG

Hello @Metaform. I dunno why I can't see your post here in the thread itself. Anyway, I just thought of a better way to do this. EASEUS partition magic can delete a partition and recover it later. So ganun na lng gagawin ko. Na-try ko na syang gawin. He was able to recover the partition. And syempre mas safe din kung sya mismo ung ginamit mo sa pag-delete nung partition.

Another idea: Use driveimage XML or any ghosting software to turn an entire drive or partition into an image (para hindi browsable). Tapos dun na lang i-re-apply yung image. Matagal na proseso din sa malalaking files.

And actually, andami ko tinanungan na mga kaibigan di naman daw chine-check ung mga hard drives nila. Kaya nga assuming na i-check nila yun just make sure na walang child porn or even porn (you can always redownload it). Dun ka lng talaga mayayari.

hehehe, y not icompress m n lang into one filename, then rename the extension to something else like .sql pagtinanong kung bat ang laki file, sabihin mo database backup hehehe.

ANother option: Encrypt a drive via Truecrypt or Bitlocker.

Reply to @Metaform: That would be a good idea sir. On the other hand, di kaya mas magduda sila pag in-encrypt mo ung drive mo? Pag tiningnan nila yan sa Computer Management sa windows makikita nila na may activd partition. For me, hiding something means trouble already in their eyes. So para sakin deleting the partition is the best bet. Coz I can always say that I already formatted my drive and deleted the partition for future use. Kung gusto nila i-recover eh di i-recover nila but they can't take it against me anymore coz I already deleted it before I left for AUS. :-)
