Hi all, just to share my experience and some information about my visa application. I met an agent last week and assessed my eligibility for applying the visa. I was been told that the chance of granting a visa and the easiest way is to have an Internal Audit experience in the CV and to prove the same. As per assessment, we would only need 60pts if you have an IA experience plus, a general IELTS even if you scored 6 (means 0) you are still eligible. Age:30pts, W.experience (70% internal audit) 15pts and bachelors degree:15pts total of 60pts. unlike the general accountant application, points required is higher and we need to have an IELTS (academic) which is said to be far more difficult.

    your thoughts on this guys...

    Thanks!

@Jaysee21 if you have IA experience then go for IA route. assessing body for IA is Vetasses and they process 3 months. check the site about internal auditor thread.

@batman yes, business finance mismo. Sorry medyo slow lang how should i do the mapping? Pwede ko ba gamitin yung initial description ng BusFin ko then indicate/attach which outline ang nasa ibang subjects?

@mgfg thank you. I'll try to do the same. Meron ako several management subjects pero wala kasi kame exactly fin mgt na subject. If ever i have these already and is already certified by our dean individually do i have to have the mapping certified by the dean again?

There is no exact format for the course mapping. The key is to prove that the required competency areas in finance have been incorporated in different subjects. In my case, I started with the finance topics listed in ICAA website and mapped those to the subjects I had in college. For example, Capital Budgeting (which is an ICAA finance topic), it was included in Management Accounting 1, so I mapped that topic to MAS1 and so on..

Sa pagkakatanda ko mas detailed ang topics sa CPAA compared sa ICAA. Yung sa ICAA finance konti lang and medyo generic.

Only the syllabus and certification from dean have to be certified. I submitted the mapping in excel format, without any certification. Although, I discussed my case with the dean just to make sure.

Kaya yan! What is your school by the way? Baka parehas lang tayo?

@mgfg maraming salamat! Pati kay @batman I'm from PSBA Manila. Medyo kinakabahan ako kasi baka negative assessment ko pero of course still hoping for the best. 65pts lang ako. I'm turning 33yo this month sayang yung 5pts di na ako umabot sa 8Jan invitation. Looking at subclass 190 but I should have a positive assesment first kaya ito din pinagdarasal ko ngayon.

FYI : •Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE)*
*CPA Australia recognises CAE tests completed on or after 1 January 2015 only.

sana ang PTE wag muna tanggalin.
sana isama na din ang OET hehehe

hello everyone, i've just received skills assessment from ICAA and got an "appropriately skilled level as an accountant (general)" result. ICAA listed my previous job positions but did not expressly stated kung ilang years un. but if iccount ung credited dates, 4years nman. may cut-off ba tlg ung present job? Kasi until 05 January 2016 lang ung inindicate nila sa present job ko although it will not make so much difference since magsubmit nko ng EOI on march so 2 months lng nman and impact. May i ask kung ittake ba ng DIBP as is ung assessment result from ICAA? Or may sarili silang way ng pagbilang how many years ung credited sa work experience?

    Visa 189 Granted: 2016
    Thank you Lord! :)

@strayan I really don't have an inkling about it. As per AU border website invitation usually falls on the first and third week of the month. You can verify from their website. Those having 70 points have the higher chances to be invited for sure.

hi...i'm glad i saw this topic...i hope someone could answer my questions since i'm just a newbie here.. initially, my plan was to study in Sydney to get a student visa, then after graduating, i will pursue taking their CPA Australia program.

Fortunately, i had read your posts regarding MPA and i think, this is way better and less costly... first of all, i would like to thank you all for the enlightenment. However, i tried to backread and it's 5:21 am already, still i haven't find the answers of the following questions:

    1. once you receive your assessment from CPA Australia, you are required to study additional subjects. Do you have to take these subjects in Australia? or could be done outside Australia via

    2. If so, what type of visa are you entitled to? student visa or skilled independent?

    3. Another option is to apply to ICAA. once you have the assessment, what type of visa are you entitled?

    4. If accounting bodies and immigration assessments are different processes, are there instances/cases here who receive positive assessment but skilled independent visa is denied?

Hope you'll answer my questions. Is it ok to apply on or own or you have to seek an agent to help me out?

    :)

by the way, if ielts is 7.5, how many equivalent points..would they round it up to 8 or round it off to 7? or they will just give 15 points (since 7 is 10 and 8 is 20)

Pa tulong naman, my previous employers in phils are non-existent na though I have a lot of former workmates na willing nmn mag bigay ng testimonial nila na nakasama nga nila ako sa work. Balak ko magpa assess sa CPAA, kanino ba dapat nka address yung hihingin kong letter from former workmates?

@AUstudentwannabe sa pagkakaalam ko walang rounding off so pag below 8 ang point is 10 pa din kahit lahat ng band nakuha mo is 7.5

hi...i'm glad i saw this topic...i hope someone could answer my questions since i'm just a newbie here.. initially, my plan was to study in Sydney to get a student visa, then after graduating, i will pursue taking their CPA Australia program.

    :)
    @AUstudentwannabe

    1. CPA program for CPAA is a distance learning style.
    2. If you will study go for student visa, you need load of money for these. If you will work skilled independent and other type that is allowed to work.
    3. ICAA is just an assessing body for few occupations in SOL mostly accountant, External Auditor etc.
4If denied in immigration the reason could be other things but not the positive assessment as this gives you points if you have + assessment.

you can get an agent if you have enough funds.
