I find Malaysia Airlines the cheapest. I have booked my brother and his wife plus 2 children one way from Manila to Adelaide and it costed us $1,768 AUD, that's around PHP 74,000. Last month umuwi ako Pinas and first time to fly with Malaysia Airlines. I find them better than PAL at mas mura kaya nga we decided to book my brother and his family with Malaysia Airlines. They are coming to migrate in Adelaide this coming June :)

guys, just in case may mga gaya kong naghahanap ng flights na madalian at di makakita ng sale, na hindi rin budget airline.. cheapest that I found so far is Cathay Pacific..

rountrip ticket for 2, eto mga pumapatak na presyuhan currently (all-in):

    -Qantas: USD2100-ish
    -Malaysia: USD1900-ish
    -PAL: USD2000-ish
    -Cathay: USD1600-ish

ang maganda pa sa cathay, kahit na HK ang stop over, madaming flights to AU so around 2 hours lang ang layover kung nagmamadali... based on experience sa cathay, maganda din naman fleet nila..

Hi, Guys. Sa mga holders ng student visa wala ba allowance? Any idea? Sa PAL ba walang maliit na tv per passenger? Di ba maganda sa PAL? Havent tried flying with PAL for long flights. Hongkong lang natry ko sa kanila. Tapos emirates pa lang natry ko for long flights and I must say maganda talaga. Gusto ko sana direct flight as much as possible kasi may toddler ako. Iniisip ko din okay ang connecting para di sya mainip sa travel kahit mga 3 hours lang na lay over. Any suggestions, guys? Thanks!

    Not entirely true I think..

For Qantas kasi, direct flights between AU and Ph is not everyday, so may mga days that you would have to opt for a flight with layover (either HK, SG or Thailand ata)... For PAL naman, it depends on the city that you'll visit, when I researched sydney and melbourne flights kasi, depende sa araw, PAL's flight can either land in melbourne (layover), then continue to sydney(final destination) or vice versa - same lang din ang fare for direct flights..

Also, USD200+ fare difference; eventhough may layover yung Cathay (considering na u can get a very quick layover din sa choice of schedule) is something that's not easy to resist,1 night hotel accomodation na yun for 2 hehe.

The downside with the cheap CX flight pala (of course there is a downside! hehe):
    1. You can only choose seats upon checkin (usually 24 hours pag may web checkin) - so best seats are most likely taken na
    2. No frequent flyer miles - we're banking more on skymiles anyway, so tapon din ang miles on any PH to AU flights for us..
    3. More expensive cancellation/rebooking

Pero if you have the backpacker mindset naman and gusto mo masulit yung flight, pwede ka pumili ng mahabang layover sa HK, and magshopping spree ka on the side haha!

You can check yung Plan for your flight mismo. For long hauls, 747s usualy doesnt have monitor's per upuan, overhead screen lang.. but newer planes like A330-300 and Boeing 777 (PAL) usually have it per seat
