@se29m balitaan mo ako pre pagdating mo sa perth. Dyan din ang punta ko. Kausap ko na classmate ko ng HS, baka dun muna ko makituloy sa kanila upon airport landing. Sabi ng kasama ko na ME din, mas ok pa ang sweldo ng technician level (basically engr sa pinas by profession) versus engineering jobs. Don't know how this can be validated. Good luck sa yo!

@engineer20 di na pre.. Habulin ko yung 4 yr residency.. August 2015 ako naging temporary resident. This May 2016 big move ko, may balance na lang ako 3.5 months to spare from May 2016 until August 2019.. Sayang yung 1 year kapag nagbakasyon pa ng matagal hehehe.. Uuwi naman ako sa weekend.. Last day ko sa work is 21st May. Flight is 25th May.

I will be cleared to apply for citizenship this coming mid-June 2016 and below are facts regarding my circumstance.

1) Applied for Tourist Visa in May 2012 and was granted 1-yr multiple entry.
2) Entered Australia as a Tourist in mid-June 2012.
3) Went back to Singapore four days after #2 above - take note that I still have a valid Australian visa (albeit the tourist type).
4) Was granted a PR by Nov 2012.
5) Immigated to Australia on April 2013.

Despite being on a tourist visa - the people from immigration considered June 2012 as the start of my four years of living in Australia on a valid Australian visa. There was continuity until the 4th year which will be this coming June.

Sana mapasa ko ang exam... Ahahaha!

@se29m sir pano po ncoconsider yung time niyo sa au as tourist? Dahil po ba hindi pa expire yung tourist visa niyo nung nag apply kayo ng pr? May wife kasi ngtourist visa din sya dun last year pero nagexpire na visa niya this jan2016 before p kmi mglodge.

@agrande di pa din ako sure eh.. Yup di pa expired tourist visa ko. Supposed to expire august this year. Pero may pr grant na recently, so i think it can be considered continuous na.. As per dibp website:

To satisfy the residence requirements you must:
have been living in Australia on a valid Australian visa for four years immediately before applying which must include the last 12 months as a permanent resident,
and
not have been absent from Australia for more than one year in total, in the 4 year period, including no more than 90 days in the year immediately before applying.
Lawful residence means living in Australia on a valid Australian temporary or permanent visa.

Yung last sentence sabi should be on a valid Australian temporary or permanent visa. If bilangin from aug last year (exclude ko muna yung 2 weeks oz holiday last year nov) and big move ng may this year, dapat sa next 3 years, di na ako lumagpas ng 3 months ng wala sa Australia para magqualify for citizenship.. Assuming na hindi pa magbago rules by that time..

@se29m so i guess di to applicable sa case ko. kaso ung tourist visa ko was from feb 2014 to feb 2015, which is paso na by the time nabigyan ako ng grant.

@se29m ah ok po. Tama po ba na ang visa 189 ay valid for 5 years from date of grant? Pano po if within 5 years ay hnd namin nameet ang residency requiremnt ng citizenshp, klngan pa po ba namin magapply ulit ng pr visa? Thanks po.

@agrande hindi na 189 kelangan mo i-apply. return resident visa (RRV) na subclass 155 and 157, qualified ka if within 2 out of 5 years na OZ ka

@prcand ah thanks po. Pero may nabasa kasi ako na you can stay indefinitely. So lets say, sa 5th year lang ako nagdecide magmove to OZ, as long as hindi ako umaalis ng oz, kahit na magexpire pa yung 189 visa ko, legal pa rin naman yung stay ko, tama po ba? Magiging issue lang yung visa if umalis ako ng bansa na di pa citizen at i need to re-enter again?

@agrande tama. concept ng pagiging "permanent" resident. Ung RRV ay kelangan lang pag lumabas ka ng OZ. Pero as long as andun ka, kahit expired na ung 189 mo, legal ka parin
