Hi to everyone already working in Australia - one of the things that got us to start working on immigrating to Australia is so-called work-life balance in the country. When we were in visiting Melbourne a couple of months back, a tour guide mentioned that ideally your day should be divided as follows:

    8hrs - work
    8hrs - rest
8hrs - to do your stuffs

Does this really apply on your own personal experience? :)

I guess the answer to this though is really dependent pa rin sa work however generally, I would like to believe that OZ really values the 888 practice.

@psychoboy, 888 is the ideal. Actually, 7.5 lang working hours nila per day and it's mandated by their government. Someone correct me please if I'm wrong. :)

I guess it still depends on the role. Doctors, nurses, and sysadmins are always on call and would put longer hours of work if necessary.

Better compared to SG due to OT is a NO NO...

Worst compared with Pinas in terms of household chores dahil walang yaya o katulong or alalay, kalat mo ayusin mo, walang luto walang kain. PLANTSA KA and so on and so forth...

Better in terms of crimes dahil may justice system talaga compared sa Pinas na kunyari meron pero joke joke joke puti na mata

Worst in terms of respect, bata dito walang modo pinapahiya matatanda sa bus or binubully pag tanda mo wala kawawa ka kaya nag uuwian mga Aussie na Pinoy pag tanda sa Pinas

Better in terms of medical lalo na compared sa US, no offense....

Worst in terms of climate compared to Pinas yan e kung di ka sanay sa winter, otherwise better compared sa Canada, US or London kaya or SG na sobrang init or lalo na middle east....

Better in terms of pay if you will think of conversion and remittance

    Worst in terms of tax...

Better in terms of you can get whatever you like dahil readily available via financing...

Worst in terms of childcare, magastos e sa Pinas 4k pesos yaya na yan minsa all around

Worst in terms of clothing because it is cheaper in US and SG.. naman, made in China majority and if you buy mga Australian made na damit malamang once in a blue moon lang mangyayari...

Better in terms of scenery aba ang dami e one to sawa mag interstate ka pa or outback sobrang dami..

Better in terms of beaches and those who love water sports, naman do I have to explain?

Better in terms of pogi and gwapa... no need to explain either...

Better for those exotic looking people patok kayo dito promise....sorry sa mga mestisa di kayo kapansin pansin...

Better sa mga not so tall kasi hindi karamihan tall dito unlike sa Europe...

Better for my fun loving gay and lesbians friends...yes, ladlad dito care nila maghalikan pa kayo sa street..

Better in terms of lifestyle kasi may freedom...

Worst pag may nagawa kang mali di uso ang "Sir, baka madaan sa maboteng usapan or cashunduan"

Better in terms of politics... unless, may milagro sa Pinas....

As of this writing better than other countries wala pang recession e BUT.....

    Goodluck!

:P not bad.

Malabo ba? Sori naman. Hehe. By ratio and proportion.

10k pesos (sahod sa pinas) = 50pesos (lunch)

    aussie sahod = 7aud (lunch)

Hehe. Malabo pa din? Basta yun na yun. Hehe.

By law of ratio and proportion, yung 10K na sahod sa Pilipinas is equivalent to AU$ 1400 (10K multiplied by 7 then divided by 50) . So example, si kuya @aldous, ang sweldo nya sa Pinas noon is 50K pesos, ang aussie sweldo nya is x5 din. That's 1400 x 5 = AU$ 7000. :-* Sya na! Magpalibre tayo kay kuya @aldous. :D 8-} =))

Usually ang lunch meal from $7 to $12 then isama mo ang drink kung mineral or purified water soda and juice drink nasa $2.50 to $3.50 ang isa.

Usually naman ang baon nila dito sandwich then lagi may fruits like saging at apple.Mas makakatipid kung talagang may baon.

By the way ang maganda dito yung coffee. Ozie love coffee maraming tindahan dito na parang starbucks... ako minsan ang order ko cafe-chino especially after lunch break from $3.70 Small cup and large mga $4.50.

    cheers....

    Goodluck
