Hello I got a call from VicRoads just this afternoon. Sabi nila once may Learner Permit automatic hindi ka iaallow online to book until after 3 months. Pero since may overseas license naman daw ako pwede daw so punta na lang ako sa office to book the exam at ipakita ang Learner's permit and the overseas license. I think safety measure nila yun para mamake sure na may driving experience ka na before at di mo na kailangan 3 months learning period before taking the Hazard test.

@aug88 Hi, kailangan mo pa ring dumaan nung 3 tests. Kailangan mong kumuha ng knowledge test, hazard test at drive test. Ibig sabihin niyan na since may overseas license ka na kahit expired pwede ka pa ring magundergo ng drive test kasi exempted ka na for the Learners stage. Pag wala ka kasing overseas license, hindi ka basta bastang makakaconvert into Full kailangan mo munang ihold yung LP mo for 3months bago ka magprogress into red and green Ps then into Full. Hope that makes sense, hehe

hi @Cassey ok, got it now! thank you so much for the info! :)

Ang nakausap ko sa phone (Vicroads) weird lng, kelangan ko daw ng 3 months bago mag take ng actual driving test. PH license conversion naman ang sa akin, at nakapag hazard exam naman ako without waiting for 3 months. Ganun ba talaga yun?

@MrBean Punta at pabook ka sa mismong office nila, sabihin mo na for conversion lang. Pag online at thru phone eh sasabihin na you need to wait for 3mos.

hi, magtatanong lang about conversion of driver's licence from PH to AU. Nagrant kami ng visa last January then mageexpire na ung PH Licence ko this May 24, valid to drive pa rin ba within Victoria kahit na expired na ung PH Licence ko?
Based din pala sa comment ni @Cassey mukhang valid to drive pa ko since 6 months after ng PR visa grant allowed to drive. Pero parang hindi ako sure if need na valid ung PH Licence within the 6 month period.

    Thanks for the response!

@bluezaido Hi, you are allowed to drive for 6mos from your initial entry date if your Visa was granted overseas or for 6 mos from the visa grant date if you're here in Australia when it was granted. However, you need to have a valid (NOT EXPIRED) Driver's License to drive here on that 6mos period.
For conversion, you can still use your DL even if it's expired as long as its not expired for more than 1 year. Take note though that once you start the conversion, you won't be able to drive by yourself anymore. You are considered Learner's not until you pass the Driving Test.

    Thanks @Cassey and @engineer20 !
Based on the previous conversations, I might start with the application after 26 May so that I have time to review and also would allow me to drive on my own before my PH Licence expires.
I've also read your story @Cassey, will try to get lessons from RACV.

    Thanks again!

Hello everyone here! I need your advice about getting driver's license in VIC.

Currently, I'm working here in SG but relocating to MEL this August. I just got my driver's license here in SG and I'm planning to use it for conversion for VIC driver's license. But medyo tricky yung trail of dates which I have listed below.

Initial entry in AU: 31-Mar-2017 (did vacation only)
    PH license issue: April-2016
    SG license issue: 13-May-2017
Estimated six months buffer to apply VIC license: 30-Sept-2017

Is it required that I submit both my VIC driver's license for conversion?

@zxchubs1 I don't think that they would ask for any info on how long have you been driving as far as I can remember when converting SG license to AU kasi automatic conversion na siya and walang tests but isusurender ata yung SG license.

I can confirm that you can just immediately have your SG license converted. Just call VicRoads to book an appointment. You also get to keep your SG license. :D

(My SG license was issued Dec 2015, had it converted to VIC license Jan 2016.)

Salamat @naitx good thing that I can also keep my SG license.

Any idea about pag may SG PDL (provisionary drivers license)? My wife has it naman and she passed her BTT (basic theory test) here in SG. Kaso baka d na umabot pag full license makuha niya.

    Hello,

I just want to ask if I can convert to full driver's license in Victoria and NSW right after I get a non pro driver's license in Philippines and also get a international driver's license at Automobile Association Philippines

    Salamat

@topeakaspike Yes, you can convert it straight away. There's no need to get an international license. We had it and we never used it nor they asked for it here in Au.

    1. Aside from the card, you have to bring your 3 proofs for your identity:
    Passport (Category A)
Medicare or Bank Card (Category B)
Bills (evidence of Your residency in VIC; bears your address in Victoria)
    2. Yes
    3. Are you referring to the receipt that LTO is currently giving because they're out of cards? If yes, you need to present a letter (with the Letterhead) from LTO as well kung saan nakalagay yung status ng Ph license, yung type of license, date of issuance and expiration date na rin.
Another option is to get a letter dito sa Consulate sa Australia saying that it has verified your license details from LTO and of course containing the above information as well.
    4. Unfortunately, international license is of no use, so no need to get it.
    5. Mabilis lang ang booking ng knowledge and hazard and there's no waiting period if you do the booking in their offices. With the driving test, dahil marami ang kumukuha usually mga 1month bago ang actual test.

Guys required ba na matagal ka nang may PH driver's license in order to convert it to AU license sa VIC?
I just renewed my 7yrs dormant license, I already got the physical ID but hindi nakaindicate na I had a license prior to this year may magiging issue ba? Magiging full AU license din ba once converted?
