    Hi guys,

Malaking bagay iyon. At before you go to the airport, make sure na natimbang nyo maigi ang baggages nyo.

    Good luck!
@johnandjosh - I am just wondering sino itong nangongotong?

Na-experience ko na ring ma-excess baggage sa ibang airport, like sa Darwin, I was charged $125 for excess. I asked for a discount at binigay naman nung babae sa counter at $100. I paid $100 at binigay nya ang receipt amounted to $100.

hello, newbie po :) nakuha namin tickets namin thru IOM. nag-email ako sa IOM sa aussie but they referred us to IOM Manila. tinawagan ko then ung nakausap ko, hiningi email address then sent me the information - same sa ni-share ni @aldousnow.

natanong ko rin pala regarding sa price ng tickets, ang advice naman ng taga-IOM, hindi naman daw lumalayo...what changes is ung exchange rate. example ung sa amin, may ni-quote sila na total e lalabas na PhP85k+ (MLA-SYD 2 adults, 1 child, 1 infant) kaso hindi agad naibigay ung bank details para madeposit namin ung bayad. the next time nag-follow up kami, aba biglang naging 83k+ na lang kasi bumaba ung exchange rate...so syempre, bayad agad. 2k din un! :)

regarding naman sa baggage allowance, tataas than usual kasi magiging 40kg na from the standard 23kg ata. un lang, talagang Qantas lang sila at direct flight ung kukunin, which is ok naman sa amin kasi mejo hassle mag-layover kung may kids (sa tingin namin).

nobela na ata to hehe :)

Dec 28 2007 - lodged paper application (oo, ganun na katagal!)
Aug 2011 - finally assigned a CO but had to defer medicals since I was preggy with our 2nd child
Jan 2011 - submitted medical and NBI requirements
April 2011 - 176 (190 na ata ngayon) VISA granted
    March 2013 - IED

Jan 2013 - scheduled flight to Aussie

@johnandjosh - what i want to know right is; was the amount you paid the supposed regular excess baggage fee? kasi if this was the regular fee, you have definitely every right to ask for the receipt...

It may be a different story though if this was already a discounted rate... :)

We were ready to leave other boxes sana pero we were convinced by other staff na ok lang daw kausapin yung boss nila at mabibigyan ako ng discount. Di ko na malala yung name nya pero I remembered posting it in www.philippines.com.au 2 years back.

@LokiJr - this was what we used during our short vacation to Melbourne last June...

Hopefully if makakuha na ng visa, we plan to use SQ para mura as we have some miles to redeem tickets. :D

    hi guys, question lang...
kasi nung pumunta ako dito sa AU last Sep.... nag-avail ako ng first time migrant sa PAL...

pede pa ba ako mag-avail ng first time migrant kahit naka-avail nako sa PAL dati?

jetstar yung ginamit namin when we went to australia for a vacation last year. ok naman yung flight namin kasi pag long haul...A330 naman ang plane na gamit nila at hindi yung mga maliliit na A320. but if you'll be flying from pinas, i'm assuming you'll be stopping over dito sa sg? pag ganun, mejo tiis muna sa A320 plane from pinas to sg tapos from sg to oz, ok ka na sa A330. pero yun nga, as it's a budget airline, no food and IFE. actually, meron palang IFE pero it's not free to use. kelangan magbayad muna kung gusto mo gamitin. for the food, pwede mo na din bilhin when you're booking online para may reserved nang food syo agad. :)

My boss rode Jetstar from Sydney to Manila...nagkaproblema raw sa flight kaya they were re-routed to Darwin and had to wait one more day...binayaran naman ng Jetstar yung accommodations and all pero hassle pa rin yun hehe

ay ganun? luckily for us, never pa ko naka-experience ng mga major problems or delays sa flights when taking budget airline flights (jetstar, cebupac, tiger). kaya sa ngayon, maganda pa ang tingin ko sa budget airlines. pero once magka-bad experience siguro ako, isusumpa ko na sila. hahaha! pero for now, ok pa ko sa budget airlines. and besides, beggars can't be choosers so no choice talaga. haha

Hehe, in fairness to Jetstar, if you pay for the 'premium items', mukhang enjoyable naman siya sabi ng boss ko...Can't say the same for Cebu Pac though...naku hindi ko maimagine yung Sydney flights nila sa 2014 hehe

sana naman bumili sila ng bigger planes. di ko din ma-imagine kung A320 ang gamit nila to fly from pinas to sydney. hahaha

ahahaha, a320 to sydney? i could not imagine this...

it would be hell i suppose, very cramp, uncomfy seats (typical 5J planes) and crappy food (again, typical 5J) - but then again, it they sell it for less than 5K!

    anytime baby... ;)

napa-research tuloy ako bigla. eto ang sabi:

Publicly-traded Cebu Pacific plans to launch its new long-haul operation in 3Q2013 with leased A330-300 aircraft. Four A330s are expected by the end of 2014 and eight aircraft by 2016.

so kung matuloy nga ang long haul flights nila by 2013/2014, mukang hindi naman A320. kung mag-piso fare sila ng manila-sydney....ibubook ko ang buong angkan. hahahaha
