Is CFO sticker a Philippine immigration requirement upon leaving from Philippines to Australia?

itscarloitscarlo SingaporePosts: 118Member
Hi. I would like to enquire and verify if CFO is a Philippine immigration requirement upon leaving from Philippines to Australia? I was granted an Australian Skilled - Nominated (subclass 190) (Permanent) Visa recently in Singapore (I applied here in Singapore) and was planning to take a month break in Manila before migrating to Sydney. Suddnely I got stress of knowing (from an old [2012] thread here) that immigration in PH will look for this CFO sticker, aside from the Visa grant notice before departing Philippines.

@itscarlo Oo may bayad. Kung tama pagkatanda ko around P400? You have to book for it online.

I’m not sure kung hahanapan ka pa rin, wala pa namang nababanggit sa thread na hinanapan sila.

yes hahanapin ng immigration officer ng pinas un pag paalis ka na ng country. the only difference is if nag-stay ka na sa australia for a few months before magbakasyon sa pinas, you don't need to sit through the seminar anymore. just pay the fee sa CFO and lalagyan na ng sticker yung passport mo.

consider it as ung equivalent ng OWWA registration mo but since you're a migrant, CFO ung required.

Unfortunately yes, that is a requirement although i think 5 yrs ago, I got away from that ; maybe because i was traveling with my kids.

I arrived in AU 15yrs ago as a temporary visa holder, got PR then went back to Philippines.

So i questioned the purpose of attending the seminar to 'orient' myself to Australia when infact i have been living in AU for the last 15yrs.

@TasBurrfoot true. I also don't get the idea why this is mandatory at may bayad pa. Clear case of red tape. While some other receiving countries (where you will migrate), will give this kind of "seminar" for free. I've read some comments from other forums that the materials they used for the seminar are very outdated. Tsk.

@TasBurrfoot plus, parang ito pa pinakaimportante sa lahat kesa sa Visa Grant mo kasi di ka nila papapalabasin ng Pinas pag wala ka ng sticker. wtf.

Truth be told, the seminar in 2013 was catered to folk who have not yet left the Philippines before but for the big majority, di mo na kailangan information na sinasabi nila...

I would understand they would require this for those who will opt to be a DH in foreign countries but I don't think this is applicable for professionals.

@TasBurrfoot Apparently, this is mandatory to all Filipinos leaving FROM the Philippines (who were granted (insert migrating country) Permanent Resident Visas), whether "DH" or professionals.

I know that HENCE kailangan magpatatak...

But that being mandatory is not tantamount to saying NECESSARY at kailangan yung mga sinasabi nila... Truth be told, mas madami ka pa makikitang important information here in PinoyAu that in that seminar.
