* NEED HELP - Married in the Philippines but also want to Marry in Australia

Hi,

I'm hoping anyone can provide accurate information regarding my situation.

So I've been married to my husband for almost 8 years now. We got married in Manila back in 2012. However, we were unable to process our partner visa right after when at that time the partner visa fee was very affordable at around $2,000. Unfortunately, since we keep postponing the application, sadly now it's gone up to $7,000 + ... it's very difficult when we keep trying to save up and the fee is not getting any less.

So my questions is to save us some money. Can i remarry my husband here in Sydney, Australia. That way we can apply for a bridging visa? or prospective spouse? any thing less than $7,000.

Are re allowed to remarry here in Australia even if were already married back in the philippines?

Much appreciate any accurate information possible and referral who can assist us. My husband and I are desperate to be together here in Australia, but with little money that we have. It's just not possible very soon.

What visa are you holding right now? Is your husband a citizen or PR?

Note: You cannot apply for a bridging visa. It will only be given to you when while you are onshore you apply for another visa and your current visa cease. Yes, you can remarry here in Australia. Nothing to stop you from doing so. However, You will not be eligible for prospective marriage visa because that is only applicable to couples who intend to marry. In your case, you are already married. Also, that visa will require you to get married in less than a year. otherwise, that visa will cease. then you need to apply for the partner visa. so back again to square one.

My advice is for you to save up on the partner visa.

Hurry up because every July, visa charges are increased.

Whats the point of remarrying him? It doesnt mean that when you marry in Australia, you dont need to go with the same process of applying a partner visa. He can come as a tourist and apply a spuse visa onshore. The fee is still 7000. A bridging visa will then be issued and he can work and apply for medicare while waiting for a year to approve the visa.

Yes I am an Australian Citizen and I've here in Australia since 1993. However, I've been using my married name for Work and Bank Details. But my Passport, Medicare, Real Estate Lease is still in my Maiden name. Therefore, there's no record in the Registry of Birth, Deaths & Marriages in NSW, or is there ?

So my question is, he will come in as a tourist and then we get married. So what is the best visa we should apply so that he doesn't need to go back to the Philippines. Is is still spouse/partner visa of $7,000? ... if so, is there a payment plan? or a immigration loan you can suggest?

Yes we have been saving up, but there's always other family commitments that we need to look after.. that is why it's been a long delay....

Also, would we be qualified on this visa?

* Partner (Subclass 820/801) visa application by a spouse with transitional Extended Eligibility Temporary Visa (EETV)

Not sure about payment loan. Others might be able to suggest something for you. If you have a credit card then you can charge the visa payment there..

If he will apply for the visa onshore then that 820/801 is the appropriate visa.. Otherwise, its 309/100.

Getting married here would reduce not reduce the fees
