@gianrianyen Unsolicited advice... why don't you post your particular situation here before getting an agent. It may not be such a difficult case.

As many would suggest here, getting an agent saves you the stress of thinking about what to prepare, what to do now, what to do next, what are other options... but of course, for a fee.

Im an Archi graduate but working as interior designer/3D here in sg, ive been here in sg for 12 years na. PR na din po kami dito except for my daughter na holding a student pass.
I have some idea naman po about the whole process (thanks to pinoyau) and I've asked around and what i learned is that agents wont disclose the full details unless you sign a contract. I dont know if thats the practice sa lahat, but thats what it is here in sg apparently. thats why po medyo mahirap magcanvass and compare ng agents. I am fairly certain naman na legit lahat ng agents dito Sg but what i just want to know is yun sino sa kanila yun maayos kausap and yun would really treat you well and help you to move to Australia. Hindi yun ang tingin sayo is purely business.
Thank you po to anyone who would share.

@gianrianyen Hello, recently nag sign up kami sa AIMS. mejo pricey pero sana ok maging result. May friend din ako na nag-AIMS before, early 2017 sila nagstart, then last month nasa Australia na sila.

Yung office is nasa Aus, yung karamihan kasi na nandito sa Sg may kamahalan. we can opt to DIY kaso I dont really want to make a mistake. sayang yung oras at pera. hehehe desisyon mo naman yan. my agent is Ms. Gigi of reach out migration.

    Matthew 7:7
Ask and you will receive, search and you will find, knock and the door will be opened for you.

    Psalm 23
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Eventhough I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will not fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and i will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Sa ACN na kami nagsign up, masyado mahal ang agent dito sg, feel namin its not worth it, kasi kami rin naman gagawa most of the hard work. Naka kuha ka na ba ng visa?

@wanderlust12 I believe an agent who practices proper ethics and with integrity has to be selective of clients. There’s no point accepting cases when we know it’s a weak case as it would just be a waste of money for the applicant. Unfortunately, there are a lot out there especially those who are not registered agents who make such service purely business. They tend to sugarcoat the Australian dream to prospective client only for business purposes so you need to watch out and be vigilant. A lot of vultures lurking around.

When you want to do the right thing by your profession, chances are you you will not be able to help a vast majority of applicants.

To say that a migration agent selects a client based on the job title is an over-generalisation. An assessment needs to be made on the applicant’s work experience, qualification and even the English language competency as demonstrated in their email correspondence. Moreover, if their occupation is listed in the STSOL, then you would need to consider state nomination options available, if any.

In terms of job title, an ‘electrical engineer’ can actually be a technician, an administrative support person a Database Administrator, Property Manager, Program or Project Administrator, etc - all depending on the job scope and industry of employment. A ‘designer’ can be an Interior Designer or Graphic Designer, etc, an ‘Architect’ an Architectural Draftsperson, and so on.

The initial assessment (which is not a simple 'tick and flick process' btw) considers all possibilities and acceptance of a client cannot be based merely on the applicant’s job title.
