Tourist Visa Validity/Expiration & Extension

Hello! Raising this here in case anyone can help shed some light about visa validity.

Just a background on my fiance's current tourist visa:
- Subclass 600 (Tourist)
- Granted: Nov 2017
- Must not arrive after: Nov 2018
- Stay Period: 3 months after each arrival
- Travel Facility: Multiple
- Restrictions: 8101 No Work; 8201 Max 3 months study

He'll be travelling back here to Sydney this September, so that means he can stay here until December 2018 under his current visa, correct? Since he doesn't have the "No Further Stay" restriction, I believe we can apply for an extension while he's still onshore. When should we apply for the extension? Should it be before Nov2018 or before Dec2018? The actual validity/expiration is really confusing!

"Max 3 months stay" is only up to the validity date of the visa. If visa expires in Nov 30, visa holder cannot stay until December.
Visa extension can be applied onshore, however, DoHA has the option to grant or decline request for extension.
It is advisable to apply for extension using the published processing times of DoHA as guide to avoid complications.

Ang interpretation ko is as long as DOES NOT ARRIVE AFTER Nov 2018, pwede mag stay ng 3 months.

So if dumating ng October, pwede mag stay up to January.

From what you said, his visa validity is until "Must Not Enter After Nov 2018" (specific date is Nov 21, 2018)? So does it mean that if he enters November 15, he can only stay until November 21, and NOT February 15, 2019 (following the 3 months stayed allowed after each arrival)? This is where I get confused because I read a lot of conflicting info everywhere

How I understood it originally is that the Must Not Enter After date is the last day you can enter Australia, but since the visa has the 3 months stay period clause, it's possible to stay beyond the Must Not Enter After date and your visa is still considered valid, yun nga lang you can't enter Australia again once you exit, unless you apply for another visa.

I guess we can confirm this once he gets back here since visa validity will be reflected on his VEVO record. When he entered Sydney last July 7, on his Vevo, it says there his visa is valid only until Oct 7 (not Nov 21) because of the 3months stay clause, that's why I thought his visa will be valid until December if he enters again this September.

Hi everyone! Quick update lang, just in case maka-help to anyone with related question

Nakabalik na si fiance dito just this morning and we checked his updated VEVO details:

Date of most recent entry: Sept 15, 2018

- Subclass 600 (Tourist)
- Visa Grant Date: Nov 21, 2017
- Visa Expiry Date: Dec 15, 2018
- Must not arrive after: Nov 21 2018
- Period of Stay: 3 months after each arrival
- Location: Onshore
- Visa Status: In Effect
- Entries Allowed: Multiple
- Restrictions: 8101 No Work; 8201 Max 3 months study

This answers the question if yung "Must not arrive after" nga ba ang expiry date of your visa-- so based on the above, I guess the answer is no, it still depends on your most recent entry.

Hi bago po ako dito ask kulang po regarding sa Tourist visa extension ma expire po ung visa ko oct 18 pero nag submit nako online ng sept 11 usually ilang days bago ko malamn ung result ng visa ...? kc flight ko sa sept 30 thanks po kaya nag apply nko ng mas maaga

Hi @elizalde. As far as I know may ibibigay sila sayo na bridging visa A na pwede mo magamit while waiting dun sa extension mo as soon as you submit your extension visa applications. It means na pwede ka na hindi umalis ng australia since meron ka naman bridging visa while wala pa yung result ng extension mo. As soon as may grant kana sa extension, mag eend na rin yung bridging visa mo at irereplace na yung new extension visa mo.
