Work references help needed

Hello everyone

I am trying to understand this part of the ACS application checklist. This is with regard to the work references:

Can you share with me your experiences with getting this? Can a reference letter from my team lead/manager be enough without the details mentioned above?

The points must be in your document. You can get from your HR/supervisor if they will accommodate such request, else need to make statutory declaration still containing the below items.

Employment references must contain:
1. Start & Finish Dates of Employment - if currently employed, your "finish" date can be written as
the "To Date", but the job reference must have the date when it was written or it will be assessed
as not suitable.
2. Description of Duties Performed - required to determine the relevance to the nominated occupation
3. Hours worked - Full time or Part time
4. Country where Employment was Completed - if you have worked with the same company in
different countries, the job reference must have the dates and locations clearly specified.
5. Company Letterhead and signed by the author

@kriscandy I don't want my current company's HR to find out so I was wondering if my boss would be sufficient to accommodate this request...and the HR from the previous one said they were too busy

For your current company, you can try getting a statutory declaration. You will need the information in numbers 1 to 4 and sworn by your boss. Read through additional docs in the ACS checklist, if statutory declaration is given instead of reference letter on company letterhead.

For your old company, you can try to make a draft reference letter so your previous HR knows what to do.
