@jmcrsdmrnnsmbl Hi, if you want to practice as a Nurse here then you have to go through either Bridging Program or Conversion Course. With your years of experience, you can do BP. However, At the moment though, it’s best to wait because they will be implementing changes middle of this year. Exams will be in place instead of BP. You can take an English test then collate your docs and you can go from there. What do you find conflicting by the way? Maybe know what do you want to do first. Is it to work as a PCA in your Uncle’s facility or to work as a Nurse?

@Cassey hello ms cassey.. my uncle wants me to work as a nurse at their facility. their recruitment agency told me to study atleast 3 2-3 months (i think she's talking about me taking bridging program) that was way back 2016.. i just gave birth that time and when i finally decided to process my papers, my family went through a very serious problem so i wasn't able to pay attention with the application but now i believe is the right now, i've been reading bunch of articles ans asking friends, joining fb groups regarding bridging programs or maybe i was just scared to take the first step.. i am.also confused if my experience as a company nurse will be acceptable because a friend told me.that it should be clinical experience, but the other friend told me that my experience is okay just as long as it's nurse ..

@jmcrsdmrnnsmbl Your experience should be fine as long as it’s within the last 5 years before applying. Nursing practice isn’t only restricted to clinical setting so don’t worry too much. You are lucky because you have an employer awaiting for you. Don’t be afraid to take the leap.

Last resort ay ikaw na mismo mag execute ng affidavit or Stat Dec regarding the matter. I am not sure though kung tatanggapin ito.
I don't think this is much of an issue for AHPRA kasi basic lang naman na 450 hours within the last five years ang required... but for skills assessment for migration siguradong kailangan.
It is always prudent kasi to ask documentations pag nag-resign sa previous work knowing na magagamit at magagamit mo naman ang mga ito sa ibang pagkakataon.

I'm planning to study Nursing in Australia and hopefully obtain PR. I am a licensed nurse in the Philippines, year 2009, but have zero nursing experience. I was advised by friends and agencies to take the 2 year conversion program, which sounds fine to me since wala naman talaga akong experience so the 2-year study will benefit me naman, knowledge + skills + points for Aus study req. Am I correct? I also have several other questions:
1. Can you recommend universities preferably in Melbourne area, that offer conversion program? and if you have any idea about the fees? 2. Once I apply for PR, is it possible for me to claim points for my 5 year work experience (outside Aus) na non-nursing, pero closely related naman YATA? I work as a health unit coordinator in a hospital. 3. Also PR application related, if I worked part-time as an AIN/PCA in the duration of my 2 year study, is that considered as "Australian Skilled Employment" and maki-claim ko din ba points for that? And can I also use this experience when applying for AHPRA and ANMAC?
@MARSY With 0 nursing experience your friend and agencies would be correct in suggesting that a nursing conversion course would be the best pathway for you to start with. As to the other questions:
1. I have no info as regard to schools offering the course. Just be sure that the course is recognized by NMBA and ANMAC as leading to be recognized as registered nurse. 2. This would be quite tricky. A search on general duties of a health unit coordinator would seem to imply that this is more of administrative/clerical in nature. However, much depends on how the job description is worded/presented and if it requires a licensed and registered nurse. So if in your hospital you were required to be a registered/licensed by Abu Dhabi health authorities you MIGHT be able to claim the experience under ANZSCO Code 254499 (nec). 3. I doubt if such experience can be considered because ANMAC considers experiences related to certain ANZSCO codes and to work in all nursing related ANZSCO codes requires registration with proper authorities which in this case of would be AHPRA/NMBA because you are in Australia. It would not matter anymore toward your AHPRA/NMBA registration because as a graduate of Australian school the 450 hours recent practice is not required.
As a caveat, please note that these are just opinions and the actual assessment will always be that of the proper authorities.

1. Check Deakin Uni, La trobe Uni, and Victoria University. The fee for Deakin is around $27,000 PER YEAR. I think the cheapest among the 3 is Vic Uni. There maybe some other Unis offering Conversion so just look into it. Make sure as well that it will lead to registration because there are some Conversion Courses that doesn’t. 2. I believe you can only claim points if it’s an RN position otherwise you can’t claim points for it. They’re quite strict here, hindi pwede yung “somewhat related”... 3. If your nominated occupation is that of an RN, then NO, PCA isn’t considered as an RN role so you can’t claim points for it. You can only claim points for an RN role or position.
Anyway, you’ll have ANMAC Assessment, your LOD should tell you which work experience is recognized or not.

@anamarie around 400-700 pesos po ata yun using international express mail ng PhilPost... but that was 2 years ago.

Another question po, regarding sa certified copy, yung RLE ko po kasi pina notary ko then sinubmit ko sa PRC yung original na may notary nung nag board exam ako, meron po ako photocopy nung notarized document pero yung mismong original document na may notary wala po ako, pwede nb un? or dapat yung mismong notarized document ang isubmit? sana po nagets nyo. bali black and white yung mismong pirma ng attorney kasi photocopy lng din.

@cucci oo nga mukhang lahat yata ng school waiting for accreditation.. I called ACN domestic lang tinatanggap nila ngayon, yung mga previous RN na returning to practice lang yung may mga RN license na dati na di nag practice more than 5 years. I'm still waiting for a school but it seems I will have to apply every school nlng and wait sino una magbigay ng slot. I'm in Sydney but willing to fly anywhere mka bridging lang. lol

Thank you!

Hi, in addition to the above,

But the schools with approved programs of study is fewer compared to the previous years.
For those waiting to take their BP, do check if there are new slots open until the end of this year.
