@njcachila ofcors PR route (if kaya). If hindi, we can do student route (valid only for 2 yrs) till we will have enough points or until we can get registration on our profession then apply for PR, some also will look for employment sponsorship (this is better than student, 2-4 yrs validity tapos employer can renew) then apply for PR.. Goal natin is to become PR for the benefits and so that we could apply for citizenship if needed in the future. For PR, study VISA 189, 190, 489 (489 is not PR and will expire on Nov I think). For employment sponsorship study VISA 482.

Of course PR. Skilled migrant pathway, if possible. Maraming student visa holder ang umiiyak sa AU ngayon..Lalo't madaming misleading agents that promises clients of "live and work in Australia no IELTS" etc na inooffer. In a way, oo totoo naman na you can live and work in Australia kapag student visa, kaso that's part time work lang, at kung walang pathway for PR yung course na nakuha mo, pagka graduate mo mauuwi ka lang ulit sa Pinas.

Sa tingin ko as much as possible dapat aim for one of the skilled migration visas. Visa 189 and 190 are PR visas. Visa 489 is convertible to a PR visa once you meet the conditions to live for 2 years and work for 1 year in the sponsoring state. Visa 491 is also convertible to a PR visa once you meet the residency and work conditions.
Pero kung walang occupation sa list na pwede sa iyo, then I think no choice but to consider a student visa.

I don't encourage student visa coz it will cost you millions. It's not feasible to get permanent residency after getting Australian qualification nowadays. Gone are the days when student visa is the best pathway for PR. If you're really skilled, then invest your money in getting superior English to get additional 20 pts and taking NAATI for 5 pts. Cheers.
skilled migrant now Aussie.

@njcachila Depends on your situation. Direct PR application is always the best path to take. In saying this though, your points is always something to look at. Weigh the situation. If you are looking to take the PR route, have a look at your profession from skillselect and look at its ceiling. Compare your current points with the current rounds (As of July 11, 2019, minimum invited points was 80 receiving 775 invitations from 1000. The rest are higher). Again, this is profession dependent. If you assess yourself as someone who can make this margin, then I suggest to go for it, grab more points from state sponsorship and english test. If not however, don't lose hope. There are many other pathways to take. As you mentioned, student is one of them, but as what the above comment mentioned, it can get tedious financially. Subclass 489 is also something to look at and maybe a subclass 482. Both are temporary residents scheme but will be eligible to work. And ultimately of course, it is a pathway to residency. Points will increase with experience but always consider your age as it is one of the biggest points contributor.

i've done the student pathway, and I don't recommend it as the first step for your PR dreams. Hindi na siya kagaya before na ang iintindihin mo lang is matapos iyong course and makapagapply ng PR. Now kelangan mo ding isipin iyong magiging points mo after your course if enough ba siya or another student visa ulit pra makapagstay ka ng matagal. malaking pera ang investment sa student pathway ngayon. gaya nung mga advice sa taas, explore the permanent/provisional visas first dahil madami naman option bago ang student visa pathway. All the best!
