Hi ,
Looking for some advice if someone has been in similar situation.
I will be getting married in january and i would have known my future patner for about 4 months to the date of my marriage. She lives outside austrlia and I have visited her couple of times but we have never lived together.
I would like to add her to my 482 visa after marriage , but i have been told that marriage certificate won't be sufficient if i apply shortly after marriage.
Since we have not lived together so proofs like joint bills, lease etc won't be possible.
Has anyone encountered a similar situation before?
Thanks

@Prash Marriage certificate is sufficient proof for a relationship... maybe you're confused with the de facto relationship requirements? The other thing that is needed is a letter from your employer extending the sponsorship to your wife so she can enter via Subsequent Entrant category.

@cucci thanks for this but sadly my companies MARA agent told that applying shortly after marriage I'll need to provide de facto proofs to show that marriage is genuine.
I can't see how I can proof that without living together, other option of visitor Visa I have been told will be refused because the person might stay longer here because of me.
I am feeling lost , seems like only way would be to quit my job or live separately.
Any other idea?

@Prash I had the same thoughts prior to writing my earlier response, however, I put emphasis on the marriage document.
The 12 month cohabitation is not a hard and fast rule for 482 visas... for PR visas maybe yes... What is being looked for is that the relationship must be genuine and continuing. Perhaps if you can provide proof that the relationship existed for at least 2 years despite not having lived together because of work, religious beiiefs, etc. to show the agent and Au immigration that indeed there is a genuine and continuing relationship.

@cucci I have known her for 4 months. Do you think after marriage it is possible to apply visitor Visa so she can visit me?
Not sure if that will get rejected by immi as they can point out she has a reason to stay beyond her visit period and reason being me.
It's getting complicated now

@Prash I think visitor visa would be ok for the meantime. When I was on 457 I also had my partner and daughter come via visitor visa.
