Nagwowork po ako as joinery draftsperson sa BPO sa philippines for 1 year and 6 months na, 1 year sa PH office, tapos 6 months sa Sydney office, before non, 2 years work as project coordinator. Thank you :)

Hi valerie03, so for projects prior to the current one, it's been a mix of architectural and structural drafting yung work mo? Mas marami ba yung architectural drafting or structural? If much of your work experience was architectural rather than structural, maybe go for architectural draftsperson. If not, try civil. 9 years is a long time, so try to compute how much of that was spent on architectural or structural drafting. But also consider the SOL list if you can still get SS for architectural draftsperson (very few states offer sponsorship for this now); otherwise, you might get better chances with civil.

    Happy new year too!

Not sure if required na Aussie format ang CV, but it can't hurt to do it that way. I don't have an Aussie format CV yet (but I'm working on it) so I can't send any to you. But here are some links you can read and use as reference:

@valerie03 try to see vetassess website, all informations and formats are there. You can give the format to HR/supervisor. Check also civil draftperson's job description first and relate it to your COE.

Hello, not sure if this is the right thread to post this but i hope someone can give insights.

I just received my positive assessment from Vetassess and I am lodging my EOI in Skillselect pero medyo confused ako sa question about qualifications.

So in my positive outcome from Vetassess, I nominated Architectural Draftsperson (312111) as occupation.
The report also states that my qualification is of recognized equivalent AQF Bachelor Degree pero wala akong masters.

Anong isasagot ko dun sa EOI about qualifications? Yung possible choices sa drop down menu:

    • Bachelor Degree (Science, Business, and Technology)
    • Other qualification or award recognized by assessing authority

Actually initially sinelect ko yung "Other" pero yung followup question, what is the specific award given (yung sample nila, certificates etc.), yung nasa outcome letter ko AQF Bachelor Degree. Tama ba yun?

    Thank you!

I haven't started my application for SkillSelect, but I just wanted to share some info (since wala pang nagrereply for 2 months) about AQF.

AQF Bachelor Degree would be AQF Level 7, while a Diploma would be AQF Level 5 (AQF Level 6 for Advanced Diploma). So the bachelor degree you have is technically enough for you to work as a draftsperson; you don't need a master's degree to do drafting work. I would think that the "Other qualification" option refers to the qualifications that aren't a bachelor degree (Diploma, Advanced Diploma), but this I'm not entirely sure.

Perhaps ma'am @RheaMARN1171933 can give a more accurate answer for you.

VETASSESS didn’t award you a qualification so definitely you shouldn’t tick that. Bachelor degree should be selected.

AACA is non-profit and independent from the government (but they do work with state regulatory boards).

Looking at your signature, you've got really high points already, so i guess no need to bother with AACA. Are you looking to migrate in NSW or ACT?

Hi. For Arch Draftsperson kasi before July, NSW 190 lang ang choice, wala ng ibang possible for offshore. And it's unlikely to change kung mag resume ang state nominations. But first just wanted to see talaga yung actual stats if meron man. haha

I see. NSW introduced the residency thing for onshore applications, but since I'm moving interstate, I would no longer qualify for NSW down the line :( if you can get an accredited MArch while offshore, you can go with the Architect path.

State sponsorship is temporarily closed for all states, as the allocation for sponsorship has not been announced (I've heard/read sa October 2020 pa daw possibly magkaka-update). Prior to COVID, ang alam ko NSW yung open for sponsorship ng architectural draftsperson under 190 visa (I hadn't really checked other states as I'm living in NSW).

Full skills assessment takes 12-14 weeks according to VETASSESS website:
    https://vetassess.com.au/skills-assessment-for-migration/professional-occupations/application-process

    232111 (Architect) | Current points: 65

30-01-2018 Applied for student visa (MArchSci), offshore application.
11-08-2020 Applied for student visa (PhD), onshore application.
28-02-2022 Submitted application to AACA for skills assessment (OQA Stage 1)
27-05-2022 Received skills assessment outcome (Suitable/Positive)
    Next steps: PTE exam

Hello po! Thankful for this forum ang dami ko na po na learn kahit bago pa po kami nag start sa aming BM plans to AU. Ask lang po sana kami ng advice.. arki grad po ako sa pinas with license as architect & RMP. I have 5 years experience working in Singapore po (3 years as arch’l designer, 2 years as interior designer). Thinking mag apply po kami ni hubby as Visa 190.. but hindi po ako confident na ma grant based sa work experience ko. May malaki ba chance na ma grant? Nasa late 20s pa po kami.. or may other visa’s or pathway po na mas better? Yung other option ko po is mag Masters degree student in project management.. magandang pathway po ba yung course na yun to AU PR?

So ang idea mo ngayon is project management. I checked the SOL and ang closest occupation is 133111 Construction Project Manager. So in order to get a positive assessment, kelangan icheck mo kung papasok ka ba sa requirements ng Vetassess. Kelangan meron kang 1-year work experience after graduation related to your nominated occupation. If you think you can be assessed positively after graduating, i guess it's ok? https://www.vetassess.com.au/Portals/0/Downloads/qualification_assessment/Construction_Project_Manager.pdf

May tinanungan akong agent before about study pathway to PR he suggested me to consider taking Master in Architecture in Tasmania or Northern Territory. Why those 2 states? Because they do not have post-study experience requirements to be eligible for visa 190. Pero kelangan ata magexam sa AACA.

Considering you are in your late 20s, you have to pay attention to the age points for migration, and just make sure you can get as many points as you can early on. I still don't know the average points of profiles getting invited under visa 190, but I've heard/read that it really depends on the needs of the state/territory. Is your husband's occupation the same as yours or do they have more work experience? If not the same occupation and mas in-demand ang occupation nya, baka pwede yung husband mo ang primary applicant.

Studying in regional area usually helps with gaining more points, but it really depends on what you will study and the available job opportunities in the occupation you will nominate. If you will study Project Management and nominate an occupation closely related to that, your architecture/ID work experience may not count for the skills assessment.

Registration as an architect is optional in Australia, similar to the PH. If you are looking to register down the line, then yes, you will need to do skills assessment with AACA (with overseas qualifications) or verification of AAQ (if you have Australian architecture qualification) to be eligible to do APE (the board exam equivalent in AU). The APE involves apprenticeship of 3300 hours (logbook), exam, and interview.

If for migration purposes lang, you can nominate another occupation if that occupation can get you an invitation to migrate. In my opinion, parang mas madali tlga na mag-aral nalang ng MArch (if affordable sa inyo ang tuition) if you want to migrate as an architect, and be eligible for APE. :D

At least now alam na namin na dapat pala same pathway talaga if gusto mag PR.. salamat po! :) target po sana namin sa Melbourne.. si hubby po aircraft mechanic dito sa SG with 4 years experience..

I see. Technically you could "change" careers in pursuit of PR, but it will look like you're starting from scratch because your previous experiences will not count. You will have to look into the job opportunities in Melbourne if that is your target city, but ideally you would also be open to regional areas since Australia is really encouraging people to go regional to develop those smaller suburbs. Try looking into whether your husband can migrate as an aircraft mechanic here in Australia, baka sakali na mas in demand yung occupation nya than interior design.

The danger with studying is that you need to study at least 2 years to claim additional points for migration. With the policies frequently changing (every year), there's no assurance that the occupation will still be on the list or policies would be the same by the time you finish your studies. I'm not sure what you meant about same pathway for both of you. I'm concerned you might be missing out on things and would be interested to know more your background. Feel free to complete our free eligibility test on our website www.visaconsort.com (click yellow bar) once we have your form, I can provide you with a proper opinion of your circumstance. Disclosure: I'm not promoting my services, just wanted to help and guide you properly since you need to get this right before even considering studying. Have no time to back read so easier if you complete our web form :)
