1 year and 3 months in External audit in the PH (Big 4-outsourced basis) tasks are like the tasks of junior auditors in a public firm - checking of mathematical accuracy of FS, substantive testing (client documents against reported amounts) , disclosure checklist, gathering of bank confirmations and etc.
6 months as Management Consultant in KPMG PH - business process review and improvement
7 months and counting here in Qatar working in Internal Audit. (CIA certified)
I have been reading this forum since I graduated, but now that I am earning more than enough para makaipon for this journey, gusto ko na sya istart. I am aware na need ko pa kumuha ng experience (atleast 3 years here in IA in Qatar if I want to be sure of that 5 points) but I have some concerns.
1. (School - SSCR cavite) I am a graduate of Business Administration major in Management Accounting (BSBA MA), our subjects are almost the same with our BSA counterparts except that we do not have Auditing Problems and Audit Theory. Will this affect my education assessment, I am a CIA, will it help to get a positive assessment and will I get the 15 points for education? I hope someone with the same experience would advise me.
2. For now, since I am short of 2 years and 5 months of experience for the 3 years experience, what can I do to prepare, is it best to start IELTS right now?
Thank you in advance!

@Butterfly8i8 Thank you! Ang taas na kasi ng pt requirement for IA. Was planning to wait for SA to open again since ang target ko is thru chain migration. May chance pa kayang mag open ulit yun pag nag take effect na ang visa 491 sa November?

Hi buhayin ko lang tong thread na to. sinong currently under assessment thru vetassess? Medyo naging demanding na yug requirements nila before wala naman yata yung Org Chart hehe plus tanogn ko na din paana yung confidentiality dito if ang dami nila hinihingi na supporting docs if ever manghingi sila

@caspar44 baka covered naman ng data privacy and confidentiality clause sa terms of agreement upon submission sa Vetasses. Check mo nalang.
Pwede mo din palagyan yung documents mo ng “confidential, for migration/ visa application purpose only”. Ganyan ginawa ng company ko before they provided me my JD and COE documents. For Org Chart & Charter, nasa company website naman yung sa amin kaya not so confidential, I just submitted a screeshot.

Not auditor pero may experience ako about giving confidential docs sa Vetassess. What i did, I just blocked the client and project information in the docs since di naman yung ung titignan, i explained that it is a confidential document and they accepted it as s support.

Hi! Transparent ba ang Vetassess sa results? Like for example hindi qualified ang Bachelors mo or work experience, nakaindicate naman dun mismo?

Hello, ano pong dapat nakalagay sa JD for positive assessment for IAs? Any advice?

Would my experience in External Audit be qualified for Internal Audit role? If yes, ano po dapat nakalagay sa JD ko for EA? Thank you.

Always refer to tasks listed on Anzsco. If the tasks match yours then you can use that occupation. Good luck

If they are within the same group, would it be qualified and added to my experience? Currently, I have 2.5 years experience in Internal Audit and .8 in External. I need to have my external audit qualified to have 3 years in total experience for additional points.

It’s either you’re one or the other. You need to nominate one and be assessed under that occupation. So if you are claiming points experience for the occupation you nominated, you need to provide evidence that you have done the tasks for that occupation. They may be in the same group but clearly they have different functions. From the assessing authorities alone there’s already a difference - one is through VETASSESS and one is via CPAA

Thank you a lot. I guess I really have to wait until I fulfill the 3-year experience for added points.

It depends on the occupation you’re choosing. If You’re currently working as internal auditor and you have 2.5 years, you can still proceed and most likely by the time you’re ready for EOI, you have gained the 6 months missing to enable you to claim 5 points.
If you want to wait for 3 years, bear in mind the possibility of the occupation may be taken off the list and the immigration policy changing by then.

Hello everyone!
Mag 3years n ako d2 sa Sydney sa Sept 2021. Parang kailan lng.
Bilis ng panahon. Dati lagi lng ako basa ng basa d2. Hehe.
I'm currently working now as IA sa isang Insurance Company. The journey was not easy. When I arrived in Sydney, I didnt know anyone and just a few weeks booked in airbnb. Haha! Nakipagsapalaran lng. Good thing I was already PR 190 when I arrived. Praise God! (^_^)
When I arrived here in OZ, first work ko sa EY, GT and then insurance company.
If anyone needs help on applications in IA space, please dont hesitate to message me. I do my best to help and give some insights.
Wishing all the best to our new members here!
