There are some info outlined in Phil Embassy website about reporting birth of your newborn so I contacted them to clarify. Apparently this is something they recommend but not necessary if you are not planning to apply filipino citizenship for them in the future...If you opt not to do this within a year of your child's birth, there is still a process but more complex yung mga requirements compared to registering him within a year...

My wife will be 7mos pregnant pagBM namin. Question ko lang mabilis ba at reliable ang grab sa AU? Also after delivery will there be any taxi that will provide baby seat? Or should
we bring our own car seat then book grab?

@swish19 is grab like uber? After birth I asked the hospital's receptionist to get me a taxi with a baby seat. this shouldnt be a problem .. all the best.

@swish19 preferrably your own car equipped with car restraint. AFAIK, UBER or grab doesn't provide this.

No car yet, kaya maguber or taxi kami. Siguro we'll just bring our own car seat na lang then pwede na, for hygiene purpose na din.

@swish19 God bless and have a safe delivery ng asawa mo! Nanganak na ako 2 weeks ago, at napa register na namin si baby. Mas maigi magdala kayo ng car seat, or capsule for the newborn para mas sigurado.

@zach@052019 congratulations!:) yup, will secure car seats na lang din. matanong ko lang din sabay sabay ba kayo ngBM hubby mo? andito na kasi ko Sydney and sunod sila misis after 7weeks pa. Ask ko lang pano ba registration sa medicare since ako main applicant tapos wala pa sila, or should I wait for them? Salamat na din sa ibang mkakasagot.

@swish19 you could apply Medicare ahead of your family members as I did. The only difference is that incoming members will receive their own Medicare card separately. Btw, 3 months ahead ako Sa kanila during BM. Pls feel free to ask should something comes up in mind

Simply visit any satellite Medicare office in Sydney so it will be much comfortable for you. Just bring your PR Visa grant letter. I advise you secure bank account of your choice and proof of ID card from Department of Transport as they will need proof of ID’s. Processing is quick as within 1-2 weeks, the Medicare card shall be sent to you by post in your reflected address.

nag apply ako birth certificate kahapon. online, how long to bago makuha? after nito, i need to apply for citizenship sa immi? tama ba? then apply na for a passport? kasi flight namin sa january, am checking yung timelime if abot yung sa baby. how long ba bago makuha yung birth certificate? yung citizenship? yung passport? thanks

@xiaolico yung BC parang 2 weeks ko ata nakuha, evidence is around 4 weeks. Meron express if tingin mo di aabutin but with additional cost

@xiaolico yup citizenship cert yun, required sya for passport application. Me step by step sya at timeline upon application. Dko pa naapply passport ni baby kaya wala ako actual timeline sa passport application

Update lang, nakuha ko na birth certificate. applied nung sunday, nakuha ng wed. so 3 dyas. next week, mag apply na ko citizenship certificate ng bata. will update kung gaano katagal.

For those na newly arrived PR, nakakuha ba kayo ng carer’s leave pay from centrelink? Kasi may nabasa ako na you have to wait for 2 years pa to be eligible for this. Thanks sa magrerespond!:)

Have you done your initial entry to validate your visa? If your child is born overseas while both of you are still PRs, your child wont be automatic australian citizen. You need to apply for a child visa for him/her. Pag dito naman pinanganak, you still need to apply a Citizenship by evidence which i think will take at least a month to approve...birth certs can be obtained few days after registration yata.

Hi, nasa timeline ko. one week citizenship certificate at one week passport. kailangan ata dito mo panganak since PR lang tayo at hindi citizen. Basta PR ka and dito ka nanganak sa au, citizen na yan, automatic na yun. yung process na sinabi mo, taa. yun lang gagawin mo. madali at mabilis lang. madami ka lang kailanagn fill up. abot january for sure. plenty of time. January din flight ko nun, Nov ko inasikaso. two weeks lang lahat yan. pag labas ni baby, ayusin mo na agad.

@JuanaMariana you could just go to your nearest Australian post to apply for Australian passport. The only requirement though is you should be an “Australian citizen” not permanent resident. All you need to present is driver license and they will take photograph of you on site. I think there is a passport form to fill up so I suggest fill that the form first before queuing up for application. And yes even babies that are naturally born in Australia with permanent resident parents are eligible. Hope this answer your query 😊
