Hi guys. To those who will have their big move from PH, you may want to book ahead of time your CFO PDOS schedule. I think this is applicable to PRs like me. I booked last Nov 1st week and the earliest PDOS face to face sched na nakuha ko was in Dec last week na. Pero pag online ang PDOS parang two weeks yata ang earliest sched from the booking date. FYI

1. Yes, cannot speak for all banks - I opened my account while offshore with CommBank. They have facility for migrant process. You just need to select a branch on your application that you'll need to visit once you arrived. I believe other should be able to offer the same.

Okay lang na di na hintayin ang bonus, may tax refund naman sa EOFY dito. 💕💕💕 dalawa kami ni hubs tig 1month salary na tax refund din inabot, January nagstart magwork. Exciting yaaaan 😄

May sinasabi nga rin sila about this. Tapos ang laki ng balik haha! I think para siyang yung tax refund dito sa PH na pag sobra yung binayad ng employer, ibabalik sayo by the end of the year.

Pero if someone could elaborate this further, that would be extremely helpful!

Anu ung tax refund?

Halos 20-25% ng sahod natin mapupunta sa tax. Pero malaking portion nun ang maibabalik pagdating ng end of financial year (30th June) kapag 1st time magrerefund. Not sure sa iba, pero nung 2nd yr namin ni hubs mga 60% pa rin ang narefund namin. Check nyo po tax rates dito: https://www.ato.gov.au/rates/individual-income-tax-rates/

Yun sa anak namen yung sa pedia book lang pinakita namen. Ndi na need ipa certify. And some of the vaccines in the PH may not be accepted dito sa aussie so may inulit na vaccine sa anak namen.

Hello, nakapagdeposit ba kau sa bank account na inopen nio while offshore? Anu ung facility ung ginamit ninyo? May nabasa ako sa FB na through Wise kaso wala dito sa UAE na ganun.

@money_engineer I did not deposit at the time kasi around AUD $3k lang budget ko nun and realise na kakainin lang ng exchange and transfer fee iyong pera so decided to just bring it in cash. Seen somewhere nauubra naman ang bank-to-bank transfer or Western Union.

@ga2au Every end of financial year, you have to file your Income tax and declare other sources of income. It maybe from your other jobs, investments etc. And also your tax deductibles (any expenses made related to your work can be claimed like devices, but by percentage of use as long as you keep your receipt).
E.g. this pandemic marami ang working from home, so they have provided a method na you can claim a certain amount per hour considering you are using own space, electricity to generate an income.

If not mistaken first AUD$18k is tax free kaya usually on your first year mababa ang tax payment so mas malaki ang refund.

Employers generally withhold/deduct money from your salary to pay your income tax to ATO. When you file your income tax, you can get tax refund if the tax withheld by your employer is much higher than the tax you're liable to pay. If the tax withheld by your employer is lower than the tax you're liable for, you need to pay ATO (so you're not getting a tax refund).

Pag meron ka isang backup phone na nakaroaming yung philippine sim mo, and nakalocation na Philippines, gagana ito. Basta napagana niyo na yung app dyan sa Pilipinas and naregister niyo na no problem. Example BDO and BPI. Dapat may load ah pagpunta mo dito and nakaroaming, para magsend yung OTP. syempre nainform mo rin yung banko na magabroad ka na.

Example: Pag tinanggal mo yung app na Lazada habang nasa Pilipinas, then idownload mo ulit pag nandito ka sa AU, hindi na siya magproproceed yung delivery mo. Something is wrong ang lalabas. May mga naka geo-location lang na app na nagwowork lang sa Pilipinas

Cons: di mo magagamit na app na MyGov sa phone. MyGov app if iphone requires ios 15 or better then nakaset na location ay australia.

Wala na akong mabook na PDOS bago ang flight ko. Hindi rin gumagana yung online. Pwede kayang sumingit? Flight ko na sa 16-Jan-23 pero ang earliest schedule ay sa 18-Jan-23 na. Pwede kayang walk-in?
