VETASSESS- section 2 school

Hello! Is there anyone here in the same situation as me? I am planning to apply for a visa 190, but apparently my school falls under section 2. To provide some information, my occupation would be an Advertising Specialist, and it will be assessed by ANZSCO. I have 4 years of work experience, and I've had multiple jobs. Is there any way to get a positive assessment result, or do I really need to have a master's degree first? Thank you in advance.

Not sure about this, but VETASSESS would normally assess the level of education (whether degree or diploma) so that you can claim points for it. In terms of assesseing skill, they would normally reduce years as qualifying period depending on your course also.

Hi, @whimpee ! Oh, thanks for this information. According to ANZSCO, the role of an Advertising Specialist typically requires a bachelor's degree. If my school falls under section 2, does that mean I'm more likely to be assessed as having a diploma?

Also, regarding the qualifying period, how many years will they deduct? Do they consider literal years, or can multiple jobs count towards the requirement?

I'm not very familiar with the classifications unfortunately. I think you just have to go through with the assessment so they can assess your TOR.

Assessing authorities do not assess qualifications, they refer to the assessment conducted by the department of education and training via the country education profile. AQF bachelor degree (or equivalent) is the minimum requirement for Advertising specialist hence qualifications from institutions listed under section 2 will not result to a positive outcome unfortunately. If a prospective client will come to me with such qualification, will not accept the case as there’s no case to pursue to begin with unfortunately.

Hi, @RheaMARN1171933 ! Thank you so much for providing this clarification. Given the situation, may I ask if you have any ideas about the other possible options available? How can a university/institution change sections? What other efforts can be made to demonstrate qualifications, at least on my end?

Hi, @RheaMARN1171933 ! I am also considerin selecting project management/ project administrator/ project coordinator as my occupation. I would appreciate your opinion on my chances in this field as I also do project management. Do you think it's a suitable path for me to pursue given that they only require associate degree?

For management roles, Vetassess will require you to provide an official organisational chart showing you are managing a team (not only project). If you can provide this, then might be worth a shot.
