hello good afternoon, sorry I'm just new here. Gusto ko po sana magtry mag apply ng visa. Working in SG. Ok lang po ba mag apply for subclass 189 and subclass 190? Or dapat po isa lang. Planning to take PTE Academic any reviewers po na maishare nyo?

Check nyo na din po if eligible din for 491 occupation nyo.
Many will suggest here na you submit EOIs na separately for each subclass and for each states na eligible ka for nomination.

PTE Academic you can refer to free trial platforms gaya ng Language Academy, APEuni,E2 Language or even sa Pearson Vue resources , but just focus on strategies or templates from different resource that works for you. My end goal then is to get a Superior level result for better chances of getting invited. Even then your chances are still not guaranteed but most likely states will look at your EOI more favourably.

Can you share more po about your occupation? Have done Skills Assessment na din ? How many years of experience?

    1. Ok naman to load documents later on if di pa available during lodgment
    2. PCC i do think since is your country of residence atm, they will ask you to provide pa din to clear character requirements.Mabilis na lang yan.

tysm po, @Ozdrims! sorry kung natanong na po ito.

mga ilang days po kayo nakareceive ng HAP ID for medical? or pwede siya magenerate after lodging? tyyyy

Skillselect will auto compute your work duration based on the start/end dates you'll provide. Just make sure you consider the deemed skill date stated in your assessment if any or if applicable.

Is that 3 years past since you seated for the exam? If not - it is still valid for migration purposes. You can take another test though and upload later on.

If you put the end date as blank for your current employment , it will be captured na by the system and update your points once you reach yung threshold. Same will be done for points coming from the age criteria that increases/ decreases once you get past the brackets.

I took the exam po Aug. 2022, yung expiration po kasi na nakalagay doon sa test report is on August 2024, may nabasa po kasi ako sa forum na 3 years ang validity ng PTE for visa purposes. Please correct me po if i'm wrong. Many thanks

The first thing to do is to see if you qualify on the basic requirements for the General Skilled Migration visa (Sub class 175).

You’re age must be of under 45 years old (current point system - before July 2011).

Proof of good English proficiency is mandatory and most applicants need to qualify by obtaining a certain score in IELTS exam.

Check also if the occupation right now is in Australia’s NEW skilled occupations list (SOL) (launched last July 2010).

If your occupation is in the SOL then briefly verify if you have relevant years of experience for your nominated occupation (see point requirement list at http://www.workpermit.com/australia/general-skilled-migration/points_requirements.htm).

Note: This skills assessment is done by relevant assessment authority in Australia, the assessing body will advise, whether you are or not a suitable candidate for the chosen nominated occupation (e.g. IT prefessionals = Australian Computer Society (ACS))

Again double check the point requirement list if you can obtain 120 or more point.

If you met all the the basic requirement and you think you are able to achieve or surpass the 120 points passing mark, go for skills assessment and take the IELTS exam.

In addition, If you have a spouse, as per the checklist... you can also claim additional points for him/her,

If claiming for spousal points, check whether she/he meets the basic requirements.

If yes, better let him/her take an IELTS test to avoid the secondary payment (check the immi.gov.au FEEs http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/990i/professionals-outside-australia.htm).

The passing mark is set by the Australian government and has the authority to modify it anytime.

If you did not meet the passing mark, review your credentials for other visa category like Sponsored and provisional categories.

You may also seek nomination from ‘Designated Area’ or ‘Regional Australia’ or see if you have any relatives in Australia that might wish to sponsor you for immigration.

I'm posting here to ask for any suggestions or recommendations on how and where to start.

My husband is currently working as a software engineer under an AU employer. Actually he's been working under this employer for almost 6 years in total.

He was promised for a sponsorship last October of 2020. But until now there's still no movement or progress. We had a meeting with my husband's boss last year and was informed that he can't process it last year since he's still waiting for more projects to come. But he's still much willing to sponsor us.

Now, I'm kind of losing hope. So I'm helping my husband to look for another way for us to migrate to AU.
I have been reading a few posts here but still not getting on how and where to start. Can you enlighten me please?
Our last resort is to consult an agency. But before we do, I'd like us to hear some suggestions first from people who've already undergone the process.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read.

    Hi ,
understand that if the employer has made promises better check his intentions or his just making a fool of the situation . You can check out the visa routes you can explore at DHA website . If you wanna work temporarily ,migrate for good etc.

    https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-finder/work

is either your spouse's occupation will fall under 189,190,491 routes .

Explore how you can comply each by completing the points test to assess your profile.

Once you have the key facts - decide which visa you want to pursue . If eligible for the permanent visas /provisional visas , start to gather documents to support the claims, skills assessments and english exams and lodge an EOI (Expression of Interest) .

Key is to read up more and ask questions along the way.

Thank you so much for this. Will start to work on this now. I will most likely ask some more questions here again.

By the way, I'm just new around here. How do I post my own thread?

There should be a blue pen icon in the mobile site if you want to create a new thread. But since you mentioned your spouse is a software engineer, you might want to check the "Australia Computer Society" thread. ACS would be the assessing body for SEs like your husband. The eligibility/criteria are posted in their website.

For English exam, you can search "PTE Academic" in this forum - a lot of members have posted their experiences/tips there.

If money is not an issue, yes it's okay to let a registered migration agent handle your case. In my case where it's not that complicated, I DIY. Saved me significant amount since 90% of the documents you will need to source and provide yourself. May guidance nga lang talaga if you go with an agent (and depende pa sa agent na makukuha mo). This one you better be cautious.

Start gathering employment reference letters, payslips, ITR, Bank Statements 10years back - since these are (for me) the tedious part of the process. You'll need these for your spouse's skills assessment. Malaki ang chance ng software engineers for general skilled migration (subclass 189/190/491).

Mostly ng concerns mo nandito na sa forum, just search for the keyword and may masisipag naman na sumasagot dito for some concerns din.

    Good day everyone!

I am a new member here, and this forum has been quite helpful with some questions na I had in mind. However, may (dumb) questions ako since medyo nalito lang. :) I am deciding if General Skills Assessment or RPL.

    1. Sa Summary of Criteria, do I qualify sa 2 years ICT work experience in the past 10 years? I graduate BSIT, worked as a Junior Web Developer for 2 years and 10 months, Lead Software Engineer for 2 years and 10 months as well, and now currently employed as Full Stack Web Developer for 1 year and 7 months now.

    2. I had freelance work in between my full-time employment, does ACS honor concurrent duration ng job?

    3. In my first job, when it comes to payment evidence, I managed to gather payslips dated 2016-2018, I cannot find 2019 anymore, other than those, I also have yung ITR ko from 2018. Second job, I only have payslips, then my current job, I am complete. Would this be sufficient?

    4. Employment Reference - My first job has closed na and it is impossible for me to get an Employment Reference, does that mean yung experience ko from it won't be counted?

    5. I am a full stack web developer, although I also handled deployments, integrations. Should I acquire 261212 Web Developer or 261313 Software Engineer?

By the way, I am so sorry if nandito na yung info, I am doing my best to comb through the pages and I will continue to do so to scrap some info. Thank you very much po!

P.S. I am gaining to apply for 189, my girlfriend's Dad is from an Immigration Agency sa SYD and he told me I must get started sa ACS. I am 27, no IELTS yet pero balak ko kumuha.

Yes mas ok na hiwalay yung EOIs per subclass and per state

Depende sa criteria eligibility and occupation per state, is good to target as many as possible for more chances of likelihood to get invited

Yes dahil na rin po sa reduced allocations , previous years data is incomparable na sa current trend.

    Asking for a friend:

Hi everyone, I have a question regarding partner skills on the 190 visa application. Required po bang same kami ng skill ng de facto ko, or basta po assessed sya sa skill na also eligible to apply for 190 visa but not necessarily the same? Thank you. ICT Support Engineer po ako and Business Analyst naman ang partner ko.

its the latter. so its not necessary na dapat same anzsco kayo, as long as youre both eligible for the same visa subclass. as stated on their DHA's website:

"your partner must be an applicant for the same visa subclass"

People always get confused with this. The partner can’t get 10 points for 189 but could get it for 190 and 491. The friend can get 10 points for both 190 and 491.

hello good afternoon, sorry I'm just new here.

Basa basa po sa mga threads dito marami po kayo mapupulot na good advices.

My end goal then is to get a Superior level result for better chances of getting invited. Even then your chances are still not guaranteed but most likely states will look at your EOI more favourably.

Can you share more po about your occupation? Have done Skills Assessment na din ? How many years of experience? Basa basa po sa mga threads dito marami po kayo mapupulot na good advices.

hello po Sir Ozdrims, ang occupation is Purchaser. 1. San po pede makapagcheck ng Skills Assessment.
    2. Ano pong procedure for Skills Assessment? Years of experience po is more than 10 yrs. 3.Ang pagfill up po ba ng EOI once may complete information na po ng documents or kahit hindi pa po nakakapag exam ng PTE Academic?

    Hi @Loren

    1) Check your nominated occupation if it is in the combined skills occupation list and which visa you are eligible to apply, here is the link to DHA website:

    https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/working-in-australia/skill-occupation-list

    2) If you can find your nominated occupation to one of the GSM visas or provisional visas , you can start researching your Skills Assessment body requirements for Skills Assessment and contact them and apply for it.

    3) Depending on their initial stage requirements some may require you to have a certain level of english which you can also take through various english testing centres, maraming options to each has its own - IELTS, PTE, Cambridge etc.

    4) Once you have the Skills Assessment and English exams results and other evidences of claims for each in the points test you can lodge an EOI already

    Adding to this...

For you to submit an EOI, you'll need reference numbers for English test result (PTE or IELTS), and skills assessment. I suggest doing the skills assessment first, then English test. Iba iba ang assessing body for ANZSCO code/occupation. Refer to the link sent by Ozdrims to check which is applicable for your occupation.
