    Kasama pala ako dito sa backlog na to. Haha. Naghintay ako nung sagad nung 60days for lodgement. Hindi ko alam if ganun din ba naisip ng iba kaya halos sabay sabay naglodge ng May at June. Pwede ring hinabol before magclose ang financial year.

    Dunno the local situation, but this does gives us a glimpse at least at the extremes since news agencies will always shows the extremes of the situation to make it “newsworthy”, and they didn’t hide it. They even said that the family who moved on the outskirts of Sydney that it was an extreme example.

    The COL crisis interviewed two individuals who recently lost their job, but they didn’t give context as to how they were let go. Is unemployment in the rise? They didn’t mention it in the news docu. Because that’s how these two individuals became part of the “poor”.

    The immigrant population part is quite enlightening, I know that nationalism and some semblance of it can survive and proliferate in other countries. Heck, bayanihan efforts is always instilled in Filipinos. Pero I think it would be best to integrate into the community and learn their new culture. Wala namang masama dun, you are choosing to leave your old country and live in this new one. The least you can do is honor their culture. This doesn’t mean na kakalimutan mo na pinanggalingan mo. But rather be mindful.

    Not to point to a single instance or race, pero I think the best example of this disregard is the Indian community in Canada when they celebrated Diwali. I’m not in canada and just saw the videos online. This kind of behavior kinda ruins immigrant image in the new country since they are imposing their culture that is very stark in comparison sa pinuntahan nila.

    I like the take of the consultant though, that the immigrants bring positive overall economic effect to the community than perceived. So I think since we are “guests”, at first, in their country maybe we should act as one, and I think Filipinos are good at this.

    This is to avoid romanticising the idea of living in a 1st world country or immigration at large. Hindi porke't maganda ang mga tanawin, ang mga tao e mahilig sa small talk, dollars ang pera, e perpekto na ang lahat. It just shows certain realities that it's not all rainbows and butterflies. :)

    This also somehow on the flipside, should inspire us to strive better, and have informed decisions lalo't pagdating sa immigration at buhay sa ibang bansa. Open perspective. :)

    Agreed! Fleeting din yung bliss ng big move period eh syempre bago sa mata, something new ang experience kaya ieenjoy mo talaga. Pero ang reality ng immigrant's life doesn't just end there. Panibagong future yan, as in long long term and you wouldn't know what's coming (winter?) until it unfolds. 🙂😅

    To those waiting for grants, let's prepare as early as possible so that when we receive our grants, maenjoy natin ang journey.

    I also watched that video in Canada. Haven't been there and walang idea paano ang policies nila sa ganyang festivities. But here in Singapore, we celebrate Diwali. May dedicated day, and they can decorate / celebrate. Locals and other races celebrate too sa offices. Syempre mas maganda celeb sa Little India area. I think depende pa rin sa bansa. Inclusive ang SG but they have policies and everyone MUST follow.

    Siguro kulang lang talaga sa implementing rules ang Canada when they welcomed A LOT of immigrants. Hindi pa sila ready pero hala sige, pasok mga suki agad ganon. London has the same prob (been there medj magulo). And sana wag naman umabot sa ganon ang aus jusko.

    Yan ang advantage ni SG. Mahigpit talaga sila especially on implementation of rules saka mabibigat fines nila. Keep in line talaga citizens and foreigners alike.

    If only transparent ang PR application nila dito. Hahaha. 😏😏😏

    Agree ako dito. 15 years ako sa SG and di pinalad ma PR. Dami kong kakilala ilang beses na din nag apply pero wala pa din. Dati wala pang bayad ang PR application, you can submit every year and result will come out within 6 months pero wala silang sasabihin bakit rejected. Walang reference kung ano ung pwede mong i-improve sa profile mo. Ngayon $100 per application. Pero ung mga friends kong may chinese name, ambilis ma approve. Something to do with race talaga. Kaya need maghanap ng forever home talaga.. Hello aussie! beke nemen. :)

    Mahalaga talaga ang integration ng immigrants. Sana isa puso ito ng mga immigrants but sadly, hindi lahat nag iintegrate e.

    I had my first entry in Sydney, ang laking kinagualt ko sa city, it feels almost like an Asian country. I honestly don't know what to feel about it. I like diversity in countries like here in Europe (Ireland) pero sa Sydney parang di na diverse dahil 90% ng nakikita ko are Asian, ang konti lang ng Western race. lol. At least sa Sydney lang naman ata.

    To immigrants like us, importante yan na malaman kung ano yung nangyayari sa bansa na gusto nating puntahan at tirahan.

    Tama po. Migration nga po is not the end, BM is not the end. It is a beginning. Back to zero talaga. Fresh slate.

    So not only zero ka, but zero sa ibang bansa. Everything will be hard at the first years.. Having a mindset though that prioritizes reality over some the grass is greener on the other side can at least soften the blow. Andameng issues na kaakibat ng pag mamigrate:

    1) Homesickness/ loneliness;

    2) Racism;

    3) Inability to integrate to the society or isolation;

    4) Pride and ego being hurt.

    So dapat talaga 100% ready ka to be anything. Even though we are aiming for skilled visa, it doesn’t mean that we get to pick up where we left before we leave our current country of residence. Most likely we will begin again to being a rank and file employee, or being underemployed, or worse being unemployed for a few months. You need to toughen your mental fortitude talaga and practice expecting a more grounded reality than the one you crafted in your head.

    Expected naman ito kasi Australia is a migrant nation. Even the "westerners" or commonly known as "whites" are technically immigrants. Anyway, wala naman kaso as long as tanggalin ang pagkakaron ng racial bias towards others. At the end of the day, pare-parehas lang tayong gusto ng maayos na buhay, anumang lahi. All boils down to respect.

    Pero meron at meron rin talagang susundo ng pikon mo hahahahaha! Oh well. Again, this is subjective. So, better choose kindness and peace. Less stress. Kumbaga know and choose your battles na lang. Andun na ko sa point ng buhay ko na, bahala kayo dyan. I'm aware of what's happening around me, but I choose to preserve my own peace.

    Yan ang advantage ni SG. Mahigpit talaga sila especially on implementation of rules saka mabibigat fines nila. Keep in line talaga citizens and foreigners alike.

    If only transparent ang PR application nila dito. Hahaha. 😏😏😏

    Di ba, matatakot ka sa fines palang eh kung wala kang pambayad, goodluck. Kaya no choice but sumunod. Not 100% smoothly implemented pero maayos.

    Yung nga lang ang downside sa PR. Known na may quota per race pero walang idea ang tao as to ano ano ang criteria for judging haha. But haven't applied for PR. Mura daw ang fee pero ilang attempts naman kaya bago maapprove? You can't have it all daw talaga.

    Agree ako dito. 15 years ako sa SG and di pinalad ma PR. Dami kong kakilala ilang beses na din nag apply pero wala pa din. Dati wala pang bayad ang PR application, you can submit every year and result will come out within 6 months pero wala silang sasabihin bakit rejected. Walang reference kung ano ung pwede mong i-improve sa profile mo. Ngayon $100 per application. Pero ung mga friends kong may chinese name, ambilis ma approve. Something to do with race talaga. Kaya need maghanap ng forever home talaga.. Hello aussie! beke nemen. :)

    Nag-apply kami one time. Halos kasabay ng pagaayos namin ng EOI for Oz. Ayown, rejected. Wala nga reason why. Oh well.

    Buti naalala ko, tinago ko pa yung rejection letter, at ipapa frame ko nga pala yun. To remind how bitter we were with SG hahahahahah!

    not sure if there's a sub for this but I just wanted to shoot my shot if anybody here knows the answer. While waiting for my sc190 grant, I decided to visit Melbourne. I was granted a multiple entry with up to 3 months per entry na sc600. I'm considering exhausting the 3 months pero I have work here as Ph which I do remotely, never in the office. Merong condition na "No Work" attached to the visa pero vague and indefinite to my understanding yung definition ng online work and if it's allowed. Maybe anyone with experience can shed light? My VL credits won't be able to cover 3 months e. HAHA

    Hi po, bale nagwork po ako sa Japan for 9 months. San po siya ilalagay, sa address history o travel history or both po? Kasi po kapag sa travel history at address history ko po nilagay pareho (same date naman po ginawa ko), nagkakaroon po siya ng drop down for attachment na need ko raw po kumuha ng PCC sa Japan. Kapag isa lang po sa address history po o travel history nilagay ko, di naman ako nirerequired. Kasi ang alam ko po, 12 months or more ka dapat nagstay sa country na yun bago ka kumuha ng PCC.

    Salamat po in advance sa mga sagot niyo

    Pero po yung japan ko po nawork is nung 2022 pa po yun. Nasa Qatar na po ako ngayon. Bale ang usual country of residence ko na po ngayon is Qatar. So ilalagay ko pa rin po ba yung Japan both sa address and travel history? pero pag ganun po gagawin ko, pinapakuha ako ng pcc sa japan kahit na po 9 months lang ako dun. pag isa lang dun nilagayan ko (address or travel history) di na po nirerequired
