Hi Nadine. Based on pomsinoz forum yung figures ko for a doctor's salary, around 225k daw. My sister is a doctor kaya naitanong ko lang, she is thinking KSA sabi ko OZ na lang. Ang good thing sa KSA tax free sila.

Middle East countries are not for long term migration. Those are just pit stops if I may say. Tell your sister not to get lured by free tax. The quality of life in KSA and Australia are just not comparable.

@merc2013, hahaha. That is probably how much the senior registrar in our unit earns. Or a GP in a rural area. :). Hehehe. Some are definitely earning more. But entry-levels, generally not. Yung pomsinoz kasi, people posting there are British, aren't they? They have full registration right away because the Aussie medical system is a British-based system.

My figures are more realistic as I'm Pinoy and Pinoys go through the same registration process. We have to obtain full registration while the Brits already have when they come.

Where's ur sis? In Pinas ba? She needs to take AMC exams po. And then after that, have her apply dito. It's only one exam to gain entry. It won't be her last exam though, but it will be enough to get her foot in the door, so to speak. :). Hiring usually mid of the year and end of the year. If she takes the exam in the next 3 months, makakahabol pa siya sa end-of-year hiring.

Mataas ang tax dito. Yun talaga nakaka-inis !!

Agree with @wallaby, by the way. Australia has one of the best system in terms of how they treat their medical people. Doctors, nurses, dentist, pharmacist, etc. I don't think KSA can offer the same level of independence, freedom, concession. Ex., you can ask a consultant directly why he is doing this and not doing that. The same way that the nurses will tell you if you are not doing something right. That's not even allowed in Pinas. Lalo na sa KSA, I think.

Thanks Wallaby. Long term migration and quality of life in OZ is way way better in OZ and not to be compared to KSA.

My firgures are more realistic as I'm Pinoy and Pinoys go through the same registration process, regardless of background in the Philippines. We have to obtain full registration while the Brits already have when they come.

Pomsinoz are mostly brits. Maybe you're right about their medical system. What's AMC by the way? My sister is in the Phil.

AMC po is australian medical council. Doctors from UK, canada, Ireland, US, NZ, South Africa, Singapore are given full registration agad. Australia is after all, based on the UK system. Automatic talaga mga Briton.

Philippines, not in the list obviously. All other countries need to take exam. Parang board exams sa atin. She can apply through this website: www.amc.org.au. May exam sa makati, so ok lang if she's in Pinas. :)

P.S. She can PM me if may tanong siya. :)

Have her drop me a message po kung may mga tanong siya. I'm not always online tulad ng dati, but I will try to answer as much as I can.

Nadine is right! It might not be times 2 but considering that is entry level pa..no other profession can hope as much;) true, madugo ang process for pinoy doctors and dentists... But in the long run it is worth it.

There is no poor doctor in au compared sa pinas that some doctors can not even buy a car or a house.

Entry level pay for doctors is what most of us is already our top salary we can hope for in our careers.

Is it expensive to get there? Yes, 2k for the amc q written exam plus the time to study. If you review expect to pay 4-6k for the review.

    Ielts.

    Then finding a job...

Once may job na. There will be college exams as doctors here in au never stop learning. Ongoing education and exams... All paid top salary. The most normal people like us can earn.

Life yan ng doctor...never ending study. Never ending exam.

Then other than college exams... Take pa ng clinical amc exam but all the while working..paid.

    Is it worth it? Yes.

Is it for people with kids? It will be difficult. But like i said once hubby finds a job i will take a step back in my own work kasi may anak kami. I cant give up my job kasi im the primary visa holder.

Entry level for doctors is top salary for most other professionals. It mght not be the number advertised kasi specialist and consultant figures na po yang mga 200-500k annually.. But a nurse can never even break into the 90k annually no matter how many o.t. She will do but yan .. Entry level pay pa lang?;)

I say ..thats not a bad idea;)

Pinoy doctors need to be more aggressive to tackle the exams. Madugo po.. We have been there. My husband had bouts of anxiety, depression.. Hahaha.. Just to pass 1 difficult exam but worth it naman ang australia. It is a good country to live in.
