1. if sa mga international students if nakakaya nyo na ang payment for next semester sa work nyo jan sa aus.
2. Tips on how to find work po..
3. and if most masterals with 2 years course, may possibility or malaking chance na maggrant for PR..

salamat po ng marami! thinking soooo much..hahaha.. bago tuluyang pasukin ang buhay sa AUS para magkaidea.. :P

    1. Full time work in au is hard to find.. As is part time work. If you read around the forum some people have been looking for 3-6 months and they are even qualified in their fields.

    2. Part time work for students is only a certain number of hours.. 20 hrs per week if i am not wrong. I work 40 hrs a week, family of 3 on a nurse's salary which is 36 an hour and still tipid2x kami. Blue collar jobs is about 16-18 aud/hr most likely rent/ transpo lng yan not even other expenses.

    3. You can apply for p.r. But may condition yan on how many years of studying in au. I dont believe it is offered for short courses. 3 yrs. uni courses for sure pwdi maging p.r. Im not sure if less than 2 yrs or vocational courses pwdi.

    4. International students pay a higher tution than locals. We also can not avail of most student benefits.

    5. Job assurance after studying here.. I guess may plus point sya but no certainty din kasi even locals are having a hard time finding work.

    Just my 2 cents:)

hi, i would just like to raise my concerns, hope you can help me. I applied for student visa , july intake at cic in melbourne. I will be taking aged care. But for faster way na makapunta lang diyan. Im planning to take bridging courses, para di naman masayang yung 4 years bsn sa philippines.however, naguguluhan po ako if i will pursue the brdiging program or conversion program nalang nga universities, wherein they would credit yung pinagaralan sa pilipinas, so instead of 3 years, the duration of the study will be lessen. I am also concerned if which option can give me higher chance in being a PR.

bridging course for nurses in only what 2 months or so? after that let us say, 3-4 months you can find a job as a nurse. nurses are paid very well here depending on experience like me for 6-7 years experience nasa 36aud/ hr plus penal rates. after 1 year if on my own, 189 pwdi na mag apply for p.r. if 190, employer sponsored then after 2 years.

and all the while being paid.. whereas yung sa option mu, you will be the one paying tuition and living expenses.

also even let say on a student visa you can work and find work.. part time is only 20 hrs per week minimum wage.

it's really a no-brainer. i have been in oz and nz for a couple of years also i do not see the advantages talaga of studying in a foreign country unless you were born/ raise here and have citizenship on hand in terms of landing employment.

education as further studies like master's/ post graduate certificate IF YOU ARE ALREADY IN AU WORKING yan ang may advantage for promotion and career advancement.

but pre-employment.. plus point siguro pang-perfume sa resume but costly and not really an assurance of getting a job. just my 2 cents.

maganda lang sa papel (resume) if you decide to go home na you have studied abroad but if you are seeking to live here permanently..i say work experience in other 1st world country, pinas and local have more bearing than where you attain your education.

i have been in nursing here and nz for the past 4 plus na.. as a nurse, i have not taken up post graduate certificate nor have i taken master's degree here kahit libre.
    1. i have no time kasi may 4 years old kami and frankly im too lazy:P
    2. i do not see the benefit unless i what to move from pt. centered nursing to an office nurse..mas malaki sweldo ng floor nurse (ROOM NURSE AS PER MRS. VILLAR) kasi may penal rates/ pweding mag o.t. whereas managerial/ admin nursing ..true nasa 40 aud plus/ hr pero fix hours lang sila so hindi maka diskarte.

other nurses i work with have been working 10-15 years here pero walang continuing education like post grads/ masters.. study days/ mandatory training and conferences lang pwdi naman eh. di naman talaga needed/ required ung university masters/ post grad.

i have master's in the philippines.. Medical-surgical nursing pero hindi recognized. wala silang paki-alam sa master's ko mas concern sila sa experience.

@ li_i_ren tnx for sharing your experience po. i have my tita in victoria po, au citizen na po xa. she sponsored me to study aged care. this july na po commencement ng class ko. i am really worried if i can save money from working part time, given the fact that i have free accomodation since makikitira ako sa kanya. i am really hoping that i can save money so that i can repay her, even though she is not asking me. i am also hopeful na maka raise ng money on my own to sponsor the bridging program, nakakahiya kasi magpa sponsor na naman. mahal talaga studies sa aus, hirap din kumuha ng residency.

@mae_oz if you work as a caregiver..full time after your studies for sure you will save enough money for the bridging mga 1 year and half or even just a year's time kasi libre bahay eh. rent lang talaga killer here in au. if you have free accommodation.. ok na kahit part time work lang tipid2x lang. finish muna your course.. find full time work then think of the bridging.. as a nurse for sure you can repay your tita and set up a good life for yourself too.
basta remember..don't get stuck in age care. don't forget na goal mu is to be a nurse.. there is a big difference talaga.

goal for bridging is about 13k aud..don't worry if medyo matagalan ka as long as may free housing..it doesn't matter:D time is essential lang for those who have to pay rent kasi it eats up a huge chuck of whatever baon one brings.

i'm saying that kasi there are nurses here and even doctors (they have to take exams worth 3K plus without assurance of passing) na are working as caregivers for the longest of time kasi nawalan na nag motivation to pursue their own degrees and are happy/ or have families that they need to provide to with their salaries as caregivers. but if you work in line with your degree.. malaki ang pay difference. if minimum wage earner here after 5-7 yrs, you can buy a decent house pero will spend the next 20 years or so paying for that house. if you are a professional, you cut that time by half or even more for couples both working.

also i have noticed may mga tao din here na perpetual students.. kasi may 2 step process na if you study here full time for certain number of years you can apply for PR. this can be an option for you din if you are willing to spend more money for studies just to get PR. yung brother ng friend ko ganyan dito pero mind you they own a medical supplies business back in cebu so for sure money is not an issue for them.

good luck and remember your goals always.. don't settle in age care. god bless and enjoy the journey:D

@ li_i_ren super tnx maam for answering my concerns. i really appreciate it, sobrang helpful ng mga insights nyo . Atleast now naregain ko yong positive vibes and my gusto to venture at makipagsapalaran sa aus. I am really hopeful na someday soon, makakapagipon din ako to help my family here in the philippines, and eventually save for myself also.
