    if i may, ahpra will advise u to go for conversion program that usually for a year or 2yrs for some pero usually this would go sa mga fresh new graduates or yung walang mga hospital experiences and it cost so much.
    so for ur case no choice but kailangan mo magretake sa ielts academic and get 7 in all modules and send ahpra ur docs, and for sure u will just undergo 3month bridging program instead of the conversion program knowing you have 4yrs hosp exp., mas malaki masave mo magretake sa ielts done doing conversion because BP for this year alone usually cost 11-12k aud. and your looking around 30k/yr for conversion program. so it's your call.

    @knoxville nope. For everyday expenses lang yung 20hours/week na income mo. I am on my last term for credit prior learning program or conversion program. You can enroll for conversion then crash course ng aged care for 1 week class lecture the around 80hours na placement sa aged care facility. You can do that sa VICSEg in Coburg.

    no idea about aged care course kasi i'm not in oz yet,but i guess it's not enough knowing ang mahal ng living sa oz.
    and if i were u i pupursue ko pagka nurse rather working on aged care,ang laki ng difference sa sahod nun and sayang yung career mo may hosp exp kana.

    @lock_code2004:

    Hindi yata ganun ka simple or straight forward @lock_code2004. Kinausap ko si @li_i_ren about this plus some nurses in my unit, coz I do have friends na gusto din sumubok dito.

    For bridging/conversion : you still need to have an employer sponsor you for the visa after you get the RN license from APHRA. That's usually 457 road to PR. After 1-2 yrs, can be sponsored usually by the same employer for PR. Between bridging vs conversion, (sa intindi ko), if experienced RN naman sa atin ay bridging na lang na 3 months lang. Because conversion is a year-long program, mas mahal. Pero AHPRA yata mag advice kung ano dapat kunin.

    For 3yrs BSN: enough daw yan to apply sa SkillSelect. But of course, hanap ka pa din employer eventually. Pero at least PR ka na. You can work in some other jobs while waiting. Main drawback, it's more than $20k a year, tuition alone.

    For pinoy nurses with extensive experience in UK, NZ, US, (Sg not sure, but probably kasi commonwealth eh), etc: they have their own process with ANMAC. Sila yung no need for any course, but do still need ng employer for 457 (which usually is easy for them to get) and then apply for PR after 6 months yata, as long as requirement with AHPRA/ANMAC are met.

    Yep! Tama po si @nadine
    Para po sa BSN 3yrs after graduation You can apply for 2yrs Post Study Visa then after that or within that period pwede mag apply Independent Visa (PR) or Sponsored Visa (PR) may employer man o wala permanent resident parin po after.

    @Rommel1982 @Nadine
    Thanks for answers...

    Now it's clearer:
    a) for BSN AU: pathway is for Post-Study Work Visa, then Employer Sponsored or PR directly..
    b) Pinoy nurses with extensive experience in UK/NZ/US, no more courses: pathway is Employer Sponsored to PR

    - But what if they have enough experience naman sa pinas, and then nag bridging/conversion sa AU (as recommended by AHPRA), and assuming they can have 60pts for EOI, why would they can't apply directly as PR?

    @lock_code2004 pero mahirap maabot 60pts kung based mo sa lang sa experience.. check mo lang sa point system skill select.

    @lock_code2004, in the same manner why those pinoy nurses who are coming from UK, or NZ or US cannot go directly to PR, and need to be sponsored by an employer for 457 visa. In fact, they are preferred by employers here, so why not for them as well?

    I'm betting it's the standards of practice set by ANMAC.

    The nursing board is really similar to the medical board. In fact, AHPRA ang nagbibigay license for both. My take is, there is this "period of assessment" to prove to the board na "competent" ka na. So, it's an ongoing assessment. And recency of practice is one of those standards, I believe. Isa lang ang nursing degree (bridging or conversion plus RN sa atin). Another standard is the english score. If you can't achieve those standards, wala ka nung papel. Eh, ang assessment for nurses na hinahanap ng DIAC is from ANMAC eh.

    So, pano sila makakapasok as nurses para may recency or whatever standard yan? They have to have employer sponsors - 457 nga. An employer needs to vouch for them with conditions of continued assessment etc. After a certain period and assessment with ANMAC, if ok naman na performance nila and the employer is willing to sponsor for PR, pwede na. Both ANMAC and AHPRA need to give a go-signal.

    For those BSN grads dito however, their education is standard already. I think yung 2-yr post-study is given to them to obtain recency of practice. Mas madali yata for them to get positive assessment from ANMAC.

    This is my take on this. Similar kasi samin eh. I could be wrong in some points, so those who are taking this path should take this with a grain of salt.

    Lagyan ko yan ng disclaimer @lock_code2004 :D.

    My views really are my own. Base lang yan sa understanding ko sa sistema nila. I could be wrong on a lot of points. And even if I'm right, my explanation is far from exhaustive. Kung sa medical field nga, naguguluhan pa ako eh, hehe. Madami pa kasi factors yan, tapos may element pa of "case-to-case basis". Example, what is considered "recent practice", di ba. Does the practice in Pinas satisfy the conditions of recency? ANMAC makakapagsabi nyan.

    Suggest ko pa rin sa ating mga kababayan to verify po and ask from the nursing board or AHPRA. Sumasagot agad ang AHPRA by the way. Kasi ako mismo nagtanong na rin ng requirements ko dahil andami kong naririnig iba-ibang info.

    It's good to have all these input dito para guidance na rin... but what we say here really doesn't hold water. :)

    true with the case to case basis, i had a colleague wayback in cebu nasa melbourne na ngayon via student visa pero d siya nakapagbridging program kahit may hosp exp na dahil sa few yrs siyang di nakapagwork in hosp, so yes recency and gap in hosp exp really matters.
    sg local nurses i believe yung may mga degree, exempted na for BP ( usually nurses here diploma lang) pero case to case basis parin, kasama ko sa ward was granted a registration just last week (ahpra perth) c ate pinay, almost ten yrs na sa sg, naka pag advance diploma dito ng 6months, i think yun yung basis ng ahpra na d na siya ipapabridging kahit phils. initial registration niya, so yes case to case basis pa rin.
    important thing is yung pagsend ng papers sa ahpra dapat complete yung details of everything kung pede pati breakdown ng duty hrs during college ilagay sa cv, seminars , courses as long as my proof/ cert ka mapakita.

    goodluck satin lahat, i'm on the process as well.

    well mine was mostly on AHPRA side(above statement), but for everyone here's anmac site,http://www.anmac.org.au/not-suitable-applicants
    may mga case study sila para mas lalong maintindihan yung process, there's two assessments: full & modified.. full assessment is for nurses from canada,us,european union,hk and sg while modified lang for currently registered in oz and nz. there's not much difference sa dalawa sa fee lang.[850 vs 350] and for nurses with initial registration elsewhere in the world,under nyan meron na naman categories kung san ka currently registered, in which meron ang anmc 5 sets of standards para suitable for assessment...and the rest of explanations nasa site,may pinoy dun sa case study nila.

    and here's the 5 standards for assessment;
    http://www.anmac.org.au/sites/default/files/documents/Revised_Standards_for_Assessment_of_Nurses_and_Midwives_for_Migration_Puposes.pdf

    so yes doc nadine is right,it's isn't just about recency but anmc will only assess pag may 5yrs hosp exp kana..( under standard 4)

    so yun medyo mahirap hirap din etong anmc assessment nato.. sa ielts academic 7 palang..grrrr! bridging tuition 12k-arrgggghh!

    pero kaya yan guys! aja satin lahat! Go for gold!!

    I'm been saying the same thing over and over again... :)

    Anmac is bloody!! Mas strict pa kaysa diac:( i'm even on the modified pathway kasi nz nurse 3 plus yrs then 1 yr na ako dito in au... Still lacking docs.

    @lockcode hindi papasa sa assessment ng diac ang conversion or bridging for p.r. Application. Not enough points. 3 yrs bsn here in au pwdi but less than a year study mahirap. So from student visa..find an employer for work visa then strict ang anmac may number and recency of experience required for skills assessment tapos pwdi na apply for p.r.

    Anmac is our skills assessment body.

    Aphra is licensing.

    I don't advocate age care courses for nurses.. Long cut yan. More expensive and eventually will just result in delays plus your r.n. experience will become old and obsolete then will not be considered. I think suicide or desperate moves to take age care courses for nurses. Parang at a time..good idea pero in the long run hindrance pa la. ok mag aged care if like hubby is i.t. Or accountant in au..someone with a better income. Sweldo sa age care pwdi pang grocery but not enough to support a family if single income household specially factor in rent unless again may libreng bahay but sayang sya or wasted in r.n.s specially if ielts lng ang kulang.
