@sonsi_03 - Are you still planning to retake? Why not take it at IDP? I heard they are more forgiving than BC.

Hello, Sir sorry di ko nakita agad itong comment mo.

Inisip ko na yan before registering sa BC, dapat mag IDP ako, pero hindi ako familiar sa sistema at environment nila unlike BC kilala na ako ng front desk haha. Besides, na-challenge na ako masyado ng BC

I am giving another try this coming Saturday (written tests and 14-Oct Speaking test) sana mailusot na pati yung remarking ko.

These days, we are seeing an increasing amount of violence on television, and this is having a negative impact on children's behaviour.
Do you agree or disagree?
Truly there is a huge gap in terms of regulating television shows nowadays. The entertainment business at the present seemed to be more daring in creating shows that are to violent and vulgar. And as a result, the young ones’ attitudes are easily influenced. Although it is argued on both sides, I am deeply convinced that the authorities should carry out the most appropriate action on this matter.

Firstly, the existence of inappropriate scenes in every movies or television shows could probably corrupt young subtle minds as they may find it righteous to imitate. In lack of parental guidance, children may be harmed in doing such stunts that they thought it is just so easy to execute as seen on television or theatres. For example, seeing two wrestlers rumbling inside the ring, one would suddenly pick-up a folding chair and smashes into his opponent’s head. Although, we as adults know that the stunt is faked, we will never expect the children to absorb the stunt as unreal. Thus, when a child goes to school he may apply those actions to his peers.

Moreover, a further aspect that convinces the children to be violent is when they see revenge scenes. Their temper gets triggered and displays a hostile attitude as they get agitated. In this case, a negative impact can be seen clearly, of which later we will suffer on if we just tolerate our children remain watching these vicious shows.

In conclusion, despite of their curiosity, it is still suitable to prohibit our children from watching violent television shows. We should persist in pursuing our advocacy against violence especially when younger people are involved.

You should change your intro to answer the question directly. The question is if you agree or not that violence in TV had negatively impacted behavior of children. Your intro now is more focused on TV show regulations. Although you can use tv show regulation as a solution, do not emphasize it on your intro. Your intro should empphasize if you agree or disagree with the statement in the question.

Your conclusion should restate your opinion about the statement in the question and summarize your arguments which you wrote in the main paragraphs.

By the way guys, if I may ask, in writing for task 2, is it preferable to immediately write your opinion on the topic in the beginning of the paragraph? I am really confused at this.

Yes! Well, not really the first sentence but it should be EMPHASIZED in the introduction. This will give the person reading your essay an early idea that you are answering the question. But put ONLY your opinion if the question specifically asks for your opinion or if you agree or disagree. If for example the question is "Give problems and solutions" or "Discuss both views" (but does not asked your opinion), then DO NOT put your opinion in the intro and summary. you can put your opinion somewhere in the main body but in a very subtle way.

Try to search "simon ielts" wrting task 2 page. He has very simple but effective suggestions for writing task 2 essays...

Nowadays numerous television programs that show explicit words and contents are continuously growing. It has influenced the younger minds which resulted into a downside of their attitude.

Truly these days, different telecasting is been showing unwanted scenes through their various shows. Broadcasting networks create too much violence that can be seen, even on some cartoon fanfare. These can greatly affect the small minds in understanding and adapting the idea. This kind of media platform can instilled a negative behaviour to the little ones.

In addition to that a long term immersion, of showing negative audio-visual presentation to children can lead to imitation of it. For example, watching a fighting scene from a movie can affect the way they would think. Children’s mind is still undeveloped to fully understand and grasp the idea. They can unconsciously inflict physical harm or aggression towards their peers.

However the government itself must take a lead. They must implement tougher laws in regard with television line-up. The different networks as well, should revamp the contexts of ideas that they want to convey through their programs. It should be a kind of shows, that will benefit the viewers of all ages. Not just concentrating of having a good return of investment to their business.

I certainly believe that this pressing issue in monitoring programs in television must be controlled for the betterment of the whole population. The role of both parents and government is very important. Working together on this situation, might resulted into a peaceful and crimeless society in the future.

@sonsi_03, you should definitely give IDP a try, it took me 3 tries before I nailed my desired score. I took my first 2 exam sa BC and it always frustrate me to find out that I failed one sub test. On my 3rd take, I gave IDP a shot and with God's grace, I nailed it. Maybe mababait ang mga taga IDP compared sa BC.

Thank you very much for your comments. Minsan kasi hindi ko ma-balanse yung approach ko kung saan ako focus, kung sa vocabulary range or yung response sa topic. Napaka importanteng intindihin ang task talaga kundi maliligaw ka sa topic.

Naging partikular ako sa vocabulary range nitong mga nakaraang araw. Tama ka po ang mahalaga ay nasasagot ng tama ang tanong.

Pag dating sa exam, mas important ang answer sa topic. Pag di mo na cover 100% ang questions, it is hard to get a band 7. The same is true for the Writing Task 1 and Speaking Test Part 2 (cue card). Dapat masagot mo lahat ng questions.

Well, wala naman mali or tama na sagot. Basta ma COVER mo lahat ng hinihingi. If mag ask ng Problems and Solutions or opinions, dapat ma satisfy mo lahat regardless kung ano man sabihin mo... :-D

@katiequintos hala parehong pareho tayo nang na experience. Parang 2 sentences lang nasagot ko dun sa 2 min. Question

tapos senyas na sya ng senyas. Yari talaga ako. Naiiyak na ko paglabas. Alam ko 4 or 5 lang ang score ko. Kahapon lang ako nag take ng exam. Haaaay.

Natapos din po ung exam ko kanina dito BC Singapore. Looks ok naman ung L at R ko.....hopefully maitawid ko sa 7.0 ung writing ko. Sakto lang ako sa Oras at di ko na nabilang ung words...binibilang po ba ung "the", and, in, was, as words?
