areas to avoid (flood) in Brisbane

Baka pwedeng humingi ng guide/info sa mga places na prone sa flood in Brisbane. My soon to be work is in Toowong Towers so naghahanap ng unit around Toowong or even surrounding suburbs. Madaming nice units sa Auchenflower/Milton/Taringa. Hindi ba bahain yung mga areas na ian?

If wala pang mahanap, ok din na magrent muna ako ng room for short term. Baka may alam kayo? We are flying to Brisbane from Adelaide on Saturday, 20 July, for house inspections. Planning to move around August 8. Starting work on August 19.

Brisbane city council ang may brisbane flood maps. I think it is based on the 2011 flood. Can't really comment how bad it was, I wasn't here just yet. They also announce every so often if they are expecting floods in particular suburbs. Places na malapit sa Brisbane river higher tendency to flood syempre. Milton yata, got flooded in 2011 really bad. Harap lang kasi yan ng Brisbane river talaga.

Ironically, every summer lang yata may bad storms and floods. Actually, nung dumating ako nung january, storm and flood daw yun. Ang nakita ko heavy rains but no flood. Baka yung bad sa kanila normal lang sa akin.

Check mo nalang po realestate.com.au for good houses. I myself am in south bank na hindi flood-prone (sana, hehe). Toowong is also a nice suburb, I think. Mga other areas you might wanna check greenslopes, holland park.

@Nadine Thank you for the info. Mejo nahirapan nga kami magselect ng place to rent kasi tingin kami ng tingin sa Brisbane flood map

Sa Toowong kami nakakuha na 6minutes walk to my work place. Sana nga eh hindi bumaha during the rainy season.

Hello sa mga taga-Brisbane, flooded area ba ang Merivale Street, South Brisbane during rainy days? Ok ba yung place at accessible ba sa transpo, market, malls and restaurants?

Ganito lang kapag malapit sa creek at river ang place ninyo. Cigurado may baha dyan. Dipende kung anung sukat above sea level ang existing ground ng bahay ninyo. cheers

I think around near CBD towards the west side is safe. malabundok kase yung area na yun. tama sa c sir totoy iwas ka lang sa creeks and near river. but any place above CBD level (meaning mas mataas ang lugar kesa sa CBD) is safe
