@key_ren The letter states "The following employment after October 2012 is considered to equate to work at an appropriately skilled level and relevant to 261112 (Systems Analyst) of the ANZSCO Code."

That means only your employment beginning November 2012 and onwards (that you declared sa ACS assessment) are counted.

The deduction of work experience also varies sa school. If you are section 1 school, you get 2 years deduction kasi they treat it as equivalent sa Australian degree. Check it here http://pinoyau.info/plugin/page/accredited-schools

I think important talaga to get your duties and responsibilities together sa Employment Certificate kasi that will form the basis of the decision of ACS if qualified ka.

    Good luck!

@cgm Thank you for the quick response. Upon checking, my school belongs to Section 1 naman. Parang gusto ko na talaga ipa-Review! Hehehe. Sabi kasi ni agent, magmumukha akong sinungaling if I submit an updated reference letter. E sakin naman, if it is countersigned by both Companies, dapat ok lang and not questionable diba. hi @avp, yes, kailangan sa harap ng notary public pumirma ng statutory declaration yung boss mo bago tatakan as "notarized" yung document. Ganun din case ko, buti swerte ako at supportive yung boss ko at sumama sa law office during lunch time. hehe

@xtian_777 Ang sabi lang sa ACS guidelines is "The Statutory Declaration must be from a third party work colleague", sa pagkaka intindi ko eh pwede lng ka level mo. Pero un nga mas maganda pa rin ang mas mataas ang posisyon sa iyo para mas credible.

question po. let's say my work experience is from nov 2007 until present. then ACS said only work experience counted after nov 2009 is counted as relevant experience. when you lodge po ba your EOI should you put nov 2009 as your employment start date or still nov 2007? thanks

@cgm it should from Dec 2009 (after Nov 2009) to present, so around 4years and 4 months.

That's how the assessments are like, I.e. ACS does not consider the first 2years of employment as being already skilled in your nominated occupation.

When lodging EOI, there's an option Yes/No to tick to indicate whether work experience is relevant to nominated skill. Only the relevant experience will be considered for points.

@mann thanks for the quick reply. if for example my SS requirements is 5 years experience so i can add the first two years as not relevant for getting points pero hoping it would ve considered as part of the 5 years work exp (e.g. VIC needs 5 years work exp for my occupation). tama pobba assumption ko? thanks

Mas advisable n mas mataas yung position ng referee. Alternatively, u may want to ask your colleague if they can add "senior" sa job title.

    Hi Everyone,

I graduated Computer Science back in 2005 (AMA Computer University). I immediately started working (May 2005) as a Java developer then shifted to doing iPhone development (objective c) a little over 2 years ago.

That gives me about 9 years working experience as a software developer. So here's the problem. Medyo nag loko ako nun college so I have a lot of dropped subjects and failing grades. Basically, my TOR is not impressive at all plus I'm not sure what rating my school falls under. So the question is, tinitignan ba nang ACS yun grades even if I have extensive work experience in my field or will my experience take precedence?

Also, I read above that ACS takes away 2 years from your total experience which leaves me about 7 years.

This is a great community and I hope to be able to contribute someday. :)

@mann thanks for the quick reply. if for example my SS requirements is 5 years experience so i can add the first two years as not relevant for getting points pero hoping it would ve considered as part of the 5 years work exp (e.g. VIC needs 5 years work exp for my occupation). tama pobba assumption ko? thanks
@cgm, sorry i dont know about VIC SS. i think they will also rely on the result of ACS skills assessment. from their site, one of the required documents when lodging application is skills assessment

I assume AMA University u are referring po sa QC campus. If yes, your school po falls under CEP Sec 2. For a degree to be considered comparable to an AQF Bachelors degree, kelangan either

    1. 4 years fulltime with 120-185 credits and an average of 1.00 to 2.00
    2. 4 years fulltime and has passed licensure examination (which is not applicable to IT courses in the Philippines)
    3. 5 years fulltime around 200 credits

If you do not meet any of the above po, 6 years may be deducted po from your total work experience and your Bachelor’s degree may be comparable lang po to an AQF Associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma.

By the way, the number of years to be deducted po from your work experience still depend kung iconsider ng ACS na comparable to AQF degree ICT Major - closely related (2 years), or AQF degree ICT Major - NOT Closely related (4 years deduction), AQF degree ICT Minor closely related (5 years).

    @Xiaomau82

    Yes, AMA QC campus.

Sorry, I don't understand completely. What do you mean by fulltime? Fulltime employee? So in #1, you need to have 4 years exp + 1.0 to 2.0 GPA?

and for #3, do you mean that if you have 5 years fulltime employment then your grades do not matter as long as you have 200 units. Is that correct?

hmmm.. meron bang nakakagraduate na 120 - 185 units lang ang nakuha?

question po. let's say my work experience is from nov 2007 until present. then ACS said only work experience counted after nov 2009 is counted as relevant experience. when you lodge po ba your EOI should you put nov 2009 as your employment start date or still nov 2007? thanks
Ang ginawa ko dati... I've put all my experiences then marked which is related and not related.

    So parang
    nov2007 - nov2009 - not related
    nov2009 - present - related.

@ios_dev fulltime study po. to be honest, i never thought they check grades and number of units sa ACS before until someone i know got her assessment result. Her Bachelor degree from a CEP Sec 2 University e comparable lang to an AQF Associate degree. Pero siguro talagang depende pa rin sa case officer.

@xtian_777 you need to ask your immediate supervisor to make an affidavit for you using the same format of the ACS Employment Reference, your supervisor can also indicate in the affidavit the reason why you cannot get your detail employment reference because na bankrupt your company nyo.

i think the letterhead in the COE of your previous employer is important coz dun makita ang contact details ng previous employer in case ACS may want to verify the details of your COE.

the affidavit is a different case coz what will be needed there is the contact details of your supervisor in case ACS may want to verify the details of your COE.

Try to search and read about the Country Education profile – assessment guidelines (Philippines). This assessment will help you compare overseas educational qualifications with qualifications on the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). This is not specific for ACS use only but for all skills assessing body.

@jomel, Salamat naman kung meron ganyang tanong ang ACS before someone input their application pero that will not affect us. Nakapag ACS assessment na kami kasi dati walang ganyang tanong sa amin as per experience.

@Xiaomau, Thank you for your suggestion Country education profile ay hindi pa namin dapat pag aralan kasi wala pa kaming ganyang na encounter na problem sa case namin. Unless magiging problema namin mismo in our case.

Thank you po sa mga suggestions ninyo.
