  • NSW 190 Priority Skilled Occupation List - 2017-18 Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) Updated 25 September 2017 PDF Link The list is out guys as of today. This means they're going to start inviting in the upcoming weeks. Good luck to all of us!
  • Hi guys, may kilala ba kayo or naka-experience maglipat ng state bago pa matapos ang 2 yrs? Sa nabasa ko, wala namang magagawa ang state kung hindi ka titira sa kanila, pero curious lang ako kung may gumawa nga nito at kung may consequences nga in t…
  • Who else has 65 points here like me? lol Oh man, some days I read the too much into the results per round and over-analyze stuff, sometimes thinking I may not get an invite this year........ and then I see other people waiting waaaay longer than me…
  • Waiting for an ITA here too, lodged last June 27. Pro-rata sucks, but patience is a virtue. Question, has anyone tried submitting an EOI for 186 (PR - employer nomination)? I've heard the chances of getting noticed are very small, but I always see…
  • @batman lol yeah that's the thing, it is pro-rata. So if 189 is too long, I'll lodge 190 instead. But we'll see, baka maging swerte hehe. Thanks man!
  • @batman that's awesome. If I apply for 190 I could probably get 70 points. But I'm waiting for my 189 first. If that's not successful or taking too long, I'll submit an EOI for NSW.
  • @batman thanks man. So it true that there's no minimum years of experience required for your nominated occupation? In Victoria, they want 5 years experience for ICT Business Analyst.
  • Adding my name to this thread. I applied for EOI last June 27, occupation is code 261111, 189 visa points claim = 65. My occupation is on pro-rata, so most likely I won't get an invitation this month. Hopefully I'll get one in the rounds around Au…
  • Hey guys, is it a good idea to check both 186 and 189 on my EOI? I heard that it may lessen the chances of being invited for either one (possible because of conflicting interests?), but I don't know if it's true.
  • @gillianLeoh2017 click on the "Submit an EOI" button on the SkillSelect page (link). Afterwards, just fill up the form and indicate an email address. You will be assigned a unique username so take note of it, and then you can login.
  • @PMPdreamer that's great. I'm planning to update my EOI as well if my 189 takes too long. I can get 70 points if I choose the 190 visa route, and the quick turnaround for your case is really motivating. Thanks!
  • @PMPdreamer congrats on your invitation! How long did you wait for the invite? Points?
  • Hey guys, first time posting here. Is it true that NSW does not ask for minimum work experience, unlike in VIC? I'm in the ICT field so my occupation is kinda competitive. I got 65 points but it's still on the low end of the queue. My backup plan …
  • @Heprex @etmangaliman got it, this makes more sense. thanks guys!
  • @silverblacksoldier that's a good idea. Did you have any problems with your grant when you did it that way?
  • Hey guys, I'm torn with my Expression of Interest. So, I'm about to claim 65 points for visa 189. I have: Age - 30 points English - 20 points Education - 15 points (no points for experience because years after deducting skill level met requiremen…
  • Hi guys, I'm not sure if this has been answered before, but what happens if I click both 189 and 190 on SkillSelect? I have 65 points and I want to live in Melbourne, but I'm not sure which visa type is more viable, or is it fine to just choose both?
  • @ishtepi this sounds good. Just slow the pace down a little bit so that the system can recognize each individual word. If you speak this way all throughout the Speaking section you'll get a great score, for sure.
  • @Tenchu you'll be fine. Just do more practice questions/lessons everyday until you feel you can ace each item come exam date. I got most of my tips from this thread, the Macmillan book, and YouTube. My preparation was way harder than the actual exam…
  • * Optional Break - I took it. Refresh yourself. No reason not to. * Listening: Summarize Spoken Text - the same with the Re-tell Lecture item above, take notes like mad, but do it intelligently. The difference here is there's no image shown, so vis…
  • @PMPdreamer @greenapple @Heprex thanks again guys. I took the exam yesterday at Makati. I got my results w/in 24 hours, but the proctor did say to wait 5 working days. If you haven't received it by then, I suggest calling the office or chat in Pears…
  • Who took the exam yesterday 6/20 at 2:00? I got my scores already. I got 90 on all bands. Very ecstatic at the moment. Wouldn't have done it without the help of everybody in this thread. You guys are the real MVPs. Thank you!
  • @Cassey you're right, either 190 or a higher english score would do. Too bad Melbourne requires 2 years of experience for 190, but I heard that Sydney doesn't. How many years of experience do employers usually look at? 1 year? 2 years?
  • @Cassey yeah she just barely made the 60 point mark because she has no points for experience (55). I guess her option would be to get sponsored employment for at least 1 more year, probably from temporary visas if lucky, so she can get points for "A…
  • @Cassey thanks for answering! I'll weigh our options first. From what I've gathered as well, bridging is less costly but you won't be able to work part-time on a business visa so that's a big disadvantage I guess. Yung 1-year conversion mejo mahal…
  • @Cassey really? I was under the impression that bridging will only get you a diploma, while the 1 year conversion gets a Bachelor's. What's the difference between the two and do employers base their hire based on that?
  • @Heprex thanks! Yes sa makati ako kukuha next week. Ok cool as long erasable siya kasi I'm used to taking lots and lots of notes, especially sa retell lecture lol.
  • @Cassey thanks! In your experience, is it worth going through the bridging program still? I heard from friends there that it's a lot less likely to find jobs with just a diploma than a Bachelor's. Also, is it difficult to find an employer willi…
  • Hi @Cassey, I have a question. How likely am I to get a PR (whether for independent or employer-nominated visas) if I complete the 1-2 year conversion course? What's the risk that I will be sent back home if I can't find an employer or be approved f…
  • Hi guys, will be taking my exam next week. Been reading and reviewing all materials I come across here so thanks to all who shared tips and docs. Question, what would you guys say is the hardest section in the exam? I want to focus more on that. …
