Visa 489 - Registered Nurse

lentot1572lentot1572 MelbournePosts: 4Member
Hello po.

I would like to ask for some info from those who have applied for or sponsored relatives for visa 489.

My brother is a Registered Nurse in the Philippines whereas I am an AU citizen na. Sponsor eligibility wise, ok na ako. Bro has 10 years work experience.

I hope you can share here your timeline from lodgement and challenges till visa was granted. :)

I intend to assist my brother with his application or would you suggest to get an agent?

Maraming salamat!

Kasi with his experience, pwede na siyang maka 70 points po.

    Hi bytubytu,

    Salamat sa info.

489 ang choice ko kasi +10 points din yun. Eh 41 na ang kuya ko. Tsaka 3 mos lang waiting time from lodgement (kung tama ang pagkakaintindi ko sa process). Yun nga lang provisional pa nga siya.

Sige, we will discuss din with big bro.

Salamat uli and good luck with your ANMAC results. Btw, which state do you plan to move in? O depende where you get an offer?

Tapos nga pala, sa nabasa ko under 489, regional is anywhere in Victoria which is OK naman kasi kahit Melbourne metro pwede. I hope this doesn't change by the time my brother lodges his application with AHPRA and eventually the visa.

Ah nice.

Ah I see. Mahirap magpa sponsor for job eh.

@Born pag 489 visa, this is the condition.....8539 - While the visa holder is in Australia they cannot live, study or work outside of a regional or low growth metropolitan area. This means anywhere in Australia except in:

Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong and the Central Coast in New South Wales
Brisbane and the Gold Coast in Queensland
    Perth in Western Australia
    Melbourne in Victoria
    the Australian Capital Territory.

    As per immi website:

    https://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/designated-areas.htm

If you are applying for a Skilled – Regional Sponsored (Provisional) visa, and you are being sponsored by an eligible relative, your sponsor must be usually a resident in one of the following designated areas:

    State or Territory Designated Areas
    Victoria >>Anywhere
    South Australia >>Anywhere
    Northern Territory >>Anywhere
    Tasmania >>Anywhere
    Aust Capital Territory >>Anywhere
    Queensland >>Postcode areas 4019-4028, 4037-4050, 4079-4100, 4114, 4118, 4124-4150, 4158-4168, 4180-4899 (anywhere except Brisbane metropolitan area)
    Western Australia >>Anywhere
    New South Wales >>Post areas 2311-2312, 2328-2333, 2336-2490, 2535-2551, 2575-2739, 2787-2898 (anywhere except Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong)

Diba 2 klase rin kasi ang 489 -
1/ Invited (by state or sponsor)
    2/ Extended

@nicorobin based on my understanding..ahpra will be the one to assess or recommend for the need of bridging program..initially, ielts + experience then ahpra will assess...then find schools for bridging program then after that you can register na sa anmac...for those who are done, pls correct me if im wrong.

@onehitwonder just got this info from:

    http://www.australia-migration.com/page/Dentists/48

    Australian Dental Council (ADC)

The Australian Dental Council (ADC) is the organisation responsible for assessing overseas trained dentists to enable them to obtain registration in Australia. ADC also accredits Australian dental schools. The Dental Boards, dental schools, the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and the Australian Dental Association are represented on the ADC.

The ADC is the assessing authority for dentists intending to apply for migration to Australia and can be contacted for more detailed information on assessment of dental qualifications for migration purposes.

    Recognition Procedures in Australia

Each Australian State and Territory has separate legislation covering the recognition of dental qualifications. To practise dentistry in Australia you have to be registered with the local State or Territory Dental Board.
