Pero in general medyo mahirap ng makahanap ng mfng job dto dahil daming nagsasara na company dahil sa cost..dito a Melbourne sunod sunod na nag-announce na sasarado ng Ford, Holden at Toyota ung mga manufacturing facilities nila starting next yr until 2017 and job losses could reach as high as 50,000. Pero if your experience is a Planner, I think madami nman opportunities supply/demand planner specially sa mga FMCG, or Pharmaceuticals un nga lang either here in Melbourne or Sydney

medyo advantage din po kung APICS certified ka specially kung supply chain planner ung gusto mo na field. If available ung mga APICs courses sa current location mo, magpa member ka then kung afford mo take at least ung Basics of Supply Chain Mngt kc medyo malaking advantage ung my APICS certification, its internationally recognise my kamahalan nga lang ung mga courses at ung membership fee (I think depends sa location pero dto ~200AUD ung membership fee and 1 course fee is about 1,400AUD ung price)..

Ako naman po ay pinalad at 2 companies ang nagbigay sa akin ng offer. Ang 1 inaapplyan ko thru LinkedIn, at yung 1 naman eh nirefer ako ng friend ng friend ko. May mga ilan din ako na inapplyan sa mga job sites pero lahat sila parang mga headhunters at ni 1 call wala ako nakuha sa kanila. Pero almost 2 weeks lang naman po ako nagsubmit ng mga resume.

Sa tingin ko po eh kung directly nyo maccontact ang company, mas maganda. And kung OK naman ang experience nyo at qualified eh wala kayo dapat ikahiya, tawag lang sa kanila & mag-enquire. Lahat ng mga na-meet ko sa mga interview ay friendly kausap. Di tulad sa SG haha.

Hi, was also thinking about getting to Australia through student visa first, mag aaral muna and then eventually look for a job.. but sa mga nababasa ko dito, it seems like hindi din ganun kadali maghanap ng work.. as for the odd jobs, mahirap din po ba maghanap? and if you do happen to land one, is it sufficient enough to support your daily expenses? Thanks

@5000rpm - for daily expenses, i would say, yes you can support yourself while working part time under student visa...

but probably not for tuition fee.. especially kung UNI na 20k ang tuition..
pwede pa sguro kung TAFE na 5k-10k per year ang tuition fee..

probably not, the last time I check, one semester as an I.S. will cost you 40-50K so times 2 para sa 1 year.

wala po ako hinihiling mula sa inyo, kaya ko naman po kumilos mag isa at makipagsapalaran sa labas, i will appreciate kung ano man po tulong meron, wala pa po ako masyadong kakilala dito pero positibo ako na makakahanap din at eventually maPR dito.

Wala pa brod, may tumatawag naman pero ang lagi tanong is regarding sa lugar ko kung ilang oras. maganda nman ang train system dito sa Vic. ang brother ko kasi nandto sa cranbourne kya for the meantime dito muna ako till makakita work.

sa one month ko dito nkakaisa pa lng na interview ako direct sa company, and that was two weeks ago so mukang Malabo na yun. bka mag rent ako malapit sa city kung talagang issue and address.

Ikaw may work ka na?

Same case tayo bro I'm also staying in my bro's unit but i'm here in North Melbourne (Near CBD) at the moment. I assume your brother is the one who sponsored you? I notice same Visa subclass pala tayo bro 489 family sponsored ka rin. Agree, maganda yung train system dito. on time palagi and sufficient ang trains and most of all comfortable kasi hindi siksiksikan sa loob. I assume your taking Metro train (blue line) when you're going to CBD?

Konting tyaga lang bro. mabagal talaga ang turn around time ng mga feedback and calls ng recruiter or headhunter dito sa OZ. In my case, I've been staying here for like almost 2 months already and so far naka 2 Headhunter personal interviews pa lang ako and 1 technical test sa client. At least ikaw naka client interview ka na pala. Yung dun sa employer na nag-interview kamo sayo, it wouldn't hurt to make a follow up to them about your application. Just give them call bro baka mamaya they are still in the recruitment stage pa rin waiting for other applicants lang. I don't think issue yung location mo bro consistent naman ang trains dito on-time palagi madalang ang delays. just tell that to your interviewers next time baka iba lang perceptions nila about the train system here. kasi they have their own car..hehehe

Wala pa bro. Job hunting mode pa rin up to now. im giving myself a deadline ng End of June. pag wala pa rin mag-odd jobs muna ako tempo. kasi need k mag-ipon ng pera bago pumunta ng family ko dito sa melbourne ng september para may pangastos sa daily expenses. update mo na lang ako bro kung may nahanap ka ng job. Have faith! makakahanap din tayo ng work eventually!

sa servers ka pala. sa web development naman ako sir using .NET framework tsaka i'm doing B.I (Business Intelligence) work as well. Apply lang ng apply im sure may makukuha tayo later on. according to my brother may until august tayo to look for a job after that stop if not slowdown hiring ang mga companies sa I.T work bale january of next year na ang start ng recruitment ulit.

I've been here in melbourne more than 1 month na. hindi ko alam kung nahihirapan ako mag-apply o hindi lang tlga napapansin application ko. kasi lahat na halos maintenance job pinasahan ko ng resume and yet ni 1 walang tumatawag. cgro dhl hindi pako PR. 457 lng visa ko, dependant type pa! ultimo duct cleaning technician inaapplyan ko na din,. nahihirapan lang ako tanggapin na this time wala pa tlga ako trabaho.

pero i am losing hope. apply lang ng apply, kahit magwinter na! apply lang ng apply! pag nalulungkot ako, ikinakain ko lang hehehe.
