    Hi all,

    One piece of advice which has worked perfectly for me.

    If you currently have a boss who is based in Australia or have worked for one previously, try reaching out and simply ask if they have any openings in their company. Don't be afraid to ask, the worst response you can get is 'no'. You may also use this approach with your offshore Australian colleagues if you have them.

    Another tip if I may add, this for those still aspiring to make it into Australia (or any other country really). Do your best in whatever you are currently doing, build good relationships and network regularly. For all you know there is already that person in your network willing to pull strings for you.

    I can say that dito sa Australia, they also practice the palakasan system in some ways although di naman ganun ka garapal sa ginagawa sa gobyerno natin... :)

    **one piece of advice, sa mga naghahanap ng work dito sa oz, apply kayo ng kahit anong job, kahit labor hire. casual, temp...basta may work agad kayo...so para naman while waiting sa mga "dream" companies niyo or jobs that best suited sa profession niyo e nasahod kayo...

    well, good kung makakuha agad kayo ng suitable job sa profession niyo... :-)

    ** ang philosophy ko, sana walang ma-offend...apply lang ng apply sa mga dream companies niyo or dream jobs niyo here in oz...kahit nasa pinas ka pa...i-update niyo na lang ang cv niyo at profile niyo sa seek or whatever pagdating niyo dito (address, mobile number)...

    now, very stiff ngayon ang hiring at minsan nga e matagal din sila magtawag...i wont consider my job now as "odd job" kase kahit paano e in-line pa rin sa profession ko, pero manual labor nga lang...para sa akin okay na un...ang nasa isip ko e at least habang naghihintay sa right job or right company e nasahod ako... :-)

    Note: sabi pa nga nung nagiinterview..."are you sure about this job? well, i am not expecting you to stay here for a long time"

    at saka, take note pala dito sa oz...sabi nila, once na nagsend ka ng CV at tinawagan ka...almost automatic na daw na hired ka na...parang 80% e pasok ka na...unlike kase sa pinas na it will take a month or so ang hiring process...dito daw sa oz e mabilis sila sa pag hire ng tao...at straight to the point... :-)

    @manofsteel thanks brod...as per sa mga naririnig ko...pag PR daw e madali makaalis...as in kahit daw one hour notice lang...pero ganun din daw pag gusto ka na nila iterminate, almost one hour notice lang e tanggal ka na..haha

    March 25, 2013 - Received Letter for WA SS (delaying/maximising 28 days; waiting for civil wedding)
    May 31, 2013 - Submitted Visa Application (with everything; PCC Saudi, NBI, Marriage certificate, etc)
    July 11, 2013 - CO Assigned / Team 7 Adelaide
    August 17, 2013 - Done with the Medicals

    @dhey_almighty Congrats sa job! Inaabangan ko kung makakakuha ka agad kasi same kayo ni hubby, sa EA din nagpa assess. At least ok naman pala ang job market for engineers dyan. Anong line ng engineering mo?

    Btw, nagstart ka na ba magapply apply while offshore? and nagrerespond ba sila? or nagpaparamdam lang when you moved there?
    Sorry for the late rep. I tried mga 2 months before may inapplyan ako 2 jobs pero gusto nila onshore so d na ulit ako nag attempt.
    Pagdating dito esp in IT ha, napakaspecific nila sa skillset. Minsan pag wala ka lang nun isang skill kahit na same na same sa role mo, d ka mshortlist. Pero tyagaan din. If u have enough funds to sustain yourself here, mas ok din na wait nyo na yung dream job nyo. If not, odd job is still a descent job and will definitely help u make a living.

    Mechanical Engineer ako...although ung nakuha kong job e siguro mga 20% mechanical engineering un pero oks na un...ang importante e may job...para may pang-sustain dito sa WA :-)

    ** ang philosophy ko, sana walang ma-offend...apply lang ng apply sa mga dream companies niyo or dream jobs niyo here in oz...kahit nasa pinas ka pa...i-update niyo na lang ang cv niyo at profile niyo sa seek or whatever pagdating niyo dito (address, mobile number)...

    now, very stiff ngayon ang hiring at minsan nga e matagal din sila magtawag...i wont consider my job now as "odd job" kase kahit paano e in-line pa rin sa profession ko, pero manual labor nga lang...para sa akin okay na un...ang nasa isip ko e at least habang naghihintay sa right job or right company e nasahod ako... :-)

    Note: sabi pa nga nung nagiinterview..."are you sure about this job? well, i am not expecting you to stay here for a long time"

    **ang reply ko lang...i need a job to sustain myself and my rent...its a living....ayun hire ako! hehee
