@Pixiepie hi, yung laptop namin is mostly pictures and documents lang ang laman kaya we didn't bother to delete and reformat. And good thing hinde din kami na random scan kaya I have no idea kung gaano sila kahigpit sa laptop contents.

@lilith hi, yes. Kami humingi kami ng referral letter from agent ng owner ng apartment namin sa SG. At nagamit namin yun dito ng kumuha kami ng house. So I guess useful din kung makakuha kayo from pinas. At least meron silang reference person or idea sa rental history nyo at ok kayo as tenant.

@k_ann_15 hello batchmate! regarding sa question mo about Chadstone, my first question is, ano yung considerations mo sa pagpili ng suburb? Usually kasi, yung iba target nila ay yung malapit sa work place. Pero for the meantime lang ba? Dati akong taga eastern suburb so may idea ako kahit papaano.

Nagtatanong pa ako about western suburbs.

Hi @fufudoods. You can use or buy your own box pero meron silang limit sa dimensions. Pero mas ok kung sa labas dahil mas maximize mo yung size ng box. Parang mas maliit kasi yung sa singpost. Yes meron din silang pick up service with additonal fee.

I'd like to ask further about opening an immigrant account in NAB, may i know the link? Also how did you register? Were you in Phils when you opened the account, i saw that the activity was under pre-move, just want to make sure.

So, to estimate, if i would like to transfer ex 100,000, how much would be the fee? Medyo di ko gets yung nbnggit mong fees

Hi! I'm a secondary teacher and have applied online for a teaching job in Queensland. The Queensland Dept. of Education HR contacted me and referred me to their agent. So far, I passed the required band for IELTS (Speaking Listening 8; Writing Reading 7 over) They've been waiting for me for a year, I needed to wait until March so that I become eligible for TSS visa. I needed at least 2 years of experience post qualification. It seems that the process will be shorter because I was told they wanted me to start in April although I need to wait until next year of March. I don't have to pay for anything and the agent is eager to process and find me a suitable employer. It's a regional sponsored position and I don't mind living in a rural area since I don't like living in cities anyway. By the way I'm from the Philippines but I've been teaching here in Japan for more than ten years. So I have a Japanese teaching license. Does it really take a very short time amount to process a visa? Because I got the impression that everything can be processed in weeks and then I'm good to go. Has anyone experienced this?

@Pixiepie After you apply online and get approved, they'll email you everything you need to wire money to your account (SWIFT code + BSB code + account number). In this state you can only deposit money to your account via wire transfers and you can't withdraw or close anything. PH banks need hard signatures and ID verification so you do this before you leave.

Once you're in AU you need to show up to the branch you specify on your application and the bank will hand over your ATM card personally. They will give everything you need to sort this out so don't worry about it. This is generally the first and last time you'll ever need show up to an AU branch in most cases since almost everything can be done online after this.

If you don't know what branch to pick or you're not sure where to live yet, just pick the main branch in the middle of the city/CBD since they're the easiest to commute to.

    As for costs:
BPI charges P600 + P0.60 per P200 of the total amount for doc stamps (I got this from asking the people at the BPI head office since they don't have it on their site)

NAB charges $15 and 0.2% of the total amount for receiving wire transfers
    https://www.nab.com.au/personal/international/receive-money-from-overseas

For 100k php (let's assume due to exchange rate as of Dec 2018 it converts to $2600)

    BPI: P600 + (100,000 / 200) * 0.60 = P900 in transfer fees from BPI side
NAB: $15 + (2,600 * 0.002) = $20.2 in receipt fees from NAB side. But since the site says the minimum for doc stamps is $30 this becomes: $15 + $30 = $45.

So in total you need to pay P900 and $45 for the overall transfer.

You'll get an option when filling out a wire transfer on what bank shoulders the charges (the remitting bank - BPI in my case, or the receiving bank - NAB). To keep everything simple I picked that all fees get paid out of my BPI account.

So assuming due to exchange rate $45 converts to P1700 you need to pay the grand total of:
P900 + P1700 = P2600 for a transfer amount of 100,000. This means you need an extra 2600 on top of 100,000 to get it transferred. Since the exchange rate changes daily you'll need a bit more or less than that.

Yes. My friend was hired around Sept, and by the first week of Nov may TSS Visa na siya.
