Yung iba kasi sabi 2 years pero sabi sa changes na nangyari last April 2017, 3 years dapat Kaya medyo confused. 3 years or 2 years po ba talaga ang waiting period before maging eligible for PR? Pag nag apply po ba ng 186 kailangan pa po ba ng skills assessment? Gusto ko po kasi sana mag apply na ng Direct Entry. Maraming Salamat Po sa sasagot...

@Dian, Based on my understanding... If your visa was granted before April 2017, you only need 2 years with the same employer to be able to apply for 186 ENS via the Temporary Residence Transition stream. Since your visa was granted after April 2017, you will need to be with the same employer for 3 years before you can apply for the 186 visa sponsored by your Employer.

@Dian Technically @rainybrainy is correct... according to Home Affairs the basic requirement for the TRT (Temporary Resident Transition) scheme states:::::::...

    You must
    - hold a subclass 457, TSS or related Bridging visa A, B or C
    - usually, have worked for your employer for at least 3 years full time while holding a subclass 457 or TSS visa
    - have been nominated by an Australian employer whose nomination was approved in the 6 months before you apply

Medyo open to interpretation yung second requirement because of the word usually. It would seem that it is not a hard and fast rule that the employee has rendered 2-3 years of service to qualify. I have read somewhere (can't seem to find the link as of the moment) that as long as the employer nominates the employee and the nomination is approved by Home Affairs, a 186 visa can be granted.

    Skills assessment is still necessary.

Direct entry would be possible with a new employer (I think).
