San pala kayo ngpa certify ng COE's for skill assessment? Required ba talaga na andun job description at salary? Eh mga COE ko wala nun and I never saw a COE indicating those type of info.

Ma earn ko kaya un CPA designation sa Aussie if I passed US CPA but no CPA status due to license requirement? Do I need to take exam? As per US CPA, my experience can be verified by Australian CPA meaning my supervisor or boss should be a Aussie CPA and then he can attest my experience para makuha ko CPA ko sa US. Then applying MRA between US & Aussie I would be a CPA in Aussie. I don't know if my idea is correct?

I don't have a clue mate... :) Wife was just a PH CPA hence I cannot comment on what a US designation would mean.

for those who had senior level positions in the philippines but started again in lower positions, did you ''changed'' your experience, is there such a thing as over qualified?

Regarding your question, i think you should enquire on ICAA instead of CPA Australia, as AICPA is affiliated with ICAA/CAANZ via Global Acctg Alliance. Medyo tricky yung situation mo kasi "baka" dapat may CPA license ka talaga and have a good standing status as member of AICPA for certain number of years, i'm not sure. ICAA will not give the CA designation that easily based on my opinion. I am also doing CA at the moment pero nasa foundation courses plang ako (the 2 required subjects to complete before the 5 modules).

Going back to the topic, medyo odd ang experience ko with regard to looking for a job here. Within a month of looking for jobs here, i've got a lot of calls but majority are from headhunters (16 headhunters/ recruiters and about 5 direct companies). But ofcourse majority of those are getting to know interviews lang sa mga recruiters. I've only applied via seek and there are few from friends referral. Got a job within a month of applying (Arrived May 10, Started sending resumes around May 25 due to adjustments/settlements, First day of job June 22). There are few interviews na hindi ko na napuntahan since nagstart na ako magwork nung June 22, mahirap na tumakas for interviews (medyo 15 mins kasi travel time to CBD tsaka dyahe na lagi ako absent bago palang sa Company). One is with VAGO for auditor position (contractual lang), pero same day ng interview ung first day ko sa job.

Importante din na set-up mo ung voice mailbox mo kasi may mga ilang recruiters na nagiiwan nalang ng message dun (without email), at mag return call ka dapat. Kapag hindi ka nag return call, good bye na ung opportunity na yun.Mostly calls are after 2-3 weeks after submitting your resume kasi may shortlisting period pa. May mga interviews ako na feeling ko tlaga i've screwed it, some i felt i did an excellent job pero di ko pa rin nakuha ung position :P. Parang manhid na din ako, pero the brighter side of things is may mga tumatawag naman kahit paano. I would say competition here for a job is so tough, and pinaka challenge ko talaga dito is to really impressed the interviewers, prepare prepare prepare, sell myself and improve my english communication skills kasi tingin ko dun ako talaga bumabagsak hahaha. Pero, continue the fight with your hardest punch, and upgrade.

Goodluck to all new Accountant migrants and applicants

@rod_gabriel good for you. In my case two months na rin kami as of this month but still cant find for an accounting job. Nagpamember na ako ng IPA, may training na din ako sa acctg/tax agent dito but still it seems di pa rin dumadating ang job. Actually i do have a part time pero it's an odd job. I just took it para di na mabored and para addtl income na rin. Did you apply directly sa company or seek lang?

Hi.I assume Pathway 1 ang inaplayan mo for exemption. So it means you have more than 10 yrs work experience na and 5 yrs of that is Managerial role.Nag inquire din kase ako at ito ang reply nila. In my case, di ako pede kase ala pa akong experience in managerial role..Sayang akala ko makatipid na...

"Do note that if you are considering Pathway 1 under the PICPA Agreement, it is not offered to all candidates who have 10 years work experience and with 5 years of senior management experience without a formally process of review which will be done on a case by case basis. Do be advise that final assessment and result will be determined by CPA Australia even though you may meet the above criteria."

Hello everyone! My wife will be holding a student-dependent Visa. We will (hopefully) be residing in Sydney. Is there a chance of her getting hired as an Accountant? or kailangan i-update ung Visa nya to another one? She's a former Senior Audit Associate at SGV for 3 years.

@anneoz08, Nope. That MRA talks about how PH CPAs can obtain the CPA Australia designation through couple of Pathways.

Hindi sya automatic. Meaning even if you are a PH CPA, you still need to pass the assessment of CPAA of having your degree equivalent to Australian degree before you become an ASA.

Not aware of any class that you need to attend (although meron atang study groups sa FB). Once you are enrolled sa CPA program kasi, CPAA will just send the review materials to your address plus access to the online courses. With regards to tatamarin, nasa sayo na siguro yun haha.

@ImB hi, ang understanding ko kasi 2 types ung cpaa membership:
    1. Associate: your study matched with Aussie accountancy course, if you pass this you can now start your professional cpa program that is passing 3-6 subjects
    2. Professional: for those who successfully pass, so meaning CPA kna dito

That article means ba na automatically associate member kna meaning you can start enroling for the 3-6 subjects? If you are not qualified kasi as an associate, you still need to take foundation exams parang undergrad subjects ito (like some encountered taking accounting theory pa)

RSMS Visa 187 ( Hubby is the main applicant)

July 2011 : Hubby flew to OZ under 457 visa
15 Aug 13: Lodged Visa 187 (via an agent)
    20 Nov 13: Medicals @ SLEC
27 Nov 13: Further lab tests submitted
    03 Dec 13: Medicals uploaded
    10 Dec 13: Nomination approved
15 Jan 14: VISA GRANT! Thank You Lord God...
15 Mar 14: Arrival in OZ
18 Apr 14: Start of job hunting, help me again Lord...

Thank You Lord for all the blessings!!! GOD is good all the time...

@anneoz08, tama naman yung understanding mo nung membership.

Pero yung sinasabi sa website ng CPAA eh Pathway to gain Associate membership so hindi automatic na ASA kaagad. Depende pa if you meet their eligibility requirements.

@vamdcpa Good Day po! ang galing galing nyo na man po. 1st time ko pong magtake ng Acad IELTS last May 19 kaya lang I only got 6.5 sa writing. the rest 7 and above. I requested for remark last week. Hopefully maging 7 ang writing ko. anyways po, can I ask what did CPA Australia require for the assessment? May mga nabasa kasi ako that they require syllabus kaya lang, i have none. i've got TOR, Diploma, PRC Certificate and COE.
