    @TasBurrfoot
Our bill for 2mos is $260. We are renting a 3BR townhouse. 4 adults and 1kid. Centralized aircon, mga 7times nagamit for 2mos. Everyday heater sa pagligo. Once a week ang plantsa, 4times a week ang laba (kanya kanyang laba). Almost everyday ang oven at twice a day ang stove. With usage of microwave pag nagdedefrost. Once a week din ang vacuum. Then the normal appliances and gadgets like fridge, TV, fan, 2 rice cooker, laptop, iphones and lights. Kaming mag-ina whole day sa house so whole day nakabukas ang TV.

Yes, magastos kami sa kuryente. Hehehe.
    is this for electricity lang?
Yes. Wala kaming gas. Lahat electric. Free naman ang water namin.
considering 3BR townhouse kayo and 5 pax in the household kayo (plus whole day TV), okey na iyang $130...

Around $130 din kami monthly but we live in a 2-bed villa and kami dalawa lang ni misis. This $130 comprises of electricity, gas and water.

@TasBurrfoot sabi nga din ng mga friends ko here, sakto lang yun. Mas mahal nga cguro kung may separate pa na gas and water noh?

Hi to all. share ko lang po expenses ko sa utility bills and internet (Melbourne).
From my last bills (1 person in a 3BR house):

    Electricity (3-month-bill): Usage - $63.76 Service Charge - $105.04*
    Water (3-month-bill): Usage - $38.27 Service Charge - $117.10*
    Gas (2-month-bill): Usage - $42.79 Service Charge - $37.95*
Ave utility /month / person = $55.4 for usage only or $148.4 including service charges.

Internet / NBN (monthly) - $50 (eto ang nagpapamahal pero d pwdeng wala :)

2x a day shower, 2-3 loads washing per week using 40degreesC water, ducted heater on 3-4hrs sa gabi kapag super lamig, I always cook using gas stove, and i always use the oven too.

*You only pay service charges if you own the property, kapag nagrerent, u will be billed with ur usage only.

When I was in a shared accommodation, ang bill po namin nung last winter: about $276 (gas, electricity, water) + $60 unli ADSL2 internet per month for 4 adults and 1 baby. Mom and baby stay at home kaya mas mataas bills namin and portable electric heaters gamit nmin so mas mahal sa kuryente. So ave/month/person = $69 + $15.70 internet

i hope this will be helpful sa mga papunta pa lang dito para ma-estimate nila ang expenses nila.

@NoName - I find it unusual that you mentioned that *You only pay service charges if you own the property, kapag nagrerent, u will be billed with ur usage only.; kasi ako I still don't own the property that we are staying in now but I pay what you call a fixed daily connection charge sa electricity ko.

I am still renting but the house contract of lease is under my name and the electricity connection is under my name.

What is your electricity, water and gas provider?

Hi TasBurfood thanks for pointing that out... sorry my bad... water lang pala un and not applicable sa electricity and gas... pag rental property dalawa ang bills na i-issue ng supplier, one goes to the tennant for the usage and one goes to the owner for the other charges.. sensya na po sa wrong info..

pero kung bibili ka ng property, once ma-settle nyo ung land, magbabayad ka na din ng service charge sa water supplier kasi ako nuon kahit wala pang nakatayo na bahay nagbabayad na ako ng sewerage charges.

Here are our cost for electricity, gas and water for the past 6 months; what I did was to get the daily rate from previous bills and annualise it then divide monthly.

Gas: $35.67 per month (Origin Energy)
Electricity: $56.47 per month (Origin Energy)
Water: $33.47 per month (Yarra Valley Water)

    All in $125.61/month sya...

    2 bedroom
    uses TV
    uses stove
10 min hot shower per pax daily
does not use heater and aircon
2 loads of washing machine use per week

Verdict? Mejo mahal sya compared to Singapore - doon kasi, we are paying the same amount more or less BUT we use the aircon everynight at least from 10PM until 7AM in the morning... we don't cook though but magkaano lang naman ang bawas noon diba?
Question po, same lang po ba ang bill if renting at owning a house? And malaki po ba ang difference if nasa ibang province? Just weighing the expenses po, planning to pursue Australia and give up CA (if given a chance at eligible pa).

At sorry po if wala sa topic yung iask ko: how much po yung iba pang utilities like internet, phone, cable, groceries (kalabisan na to, hehe!, search ko na lang po sa ibang thread kung medyo mabusisi), etc.

    Salamat po!

Hi share ko lang din since we received our first electric bill a few weeks ago. our bill for july 29- aug 25 is $103. sobrang taas yata for a 2BR, 2 adults and a toddler lang kami. hindi din kami gumagamit ng heater and we moved in aug 2. pero electric cooking kami and walang water bill since apartment unit nakatira. mga appliances na ginagamit namin eh tv (nasa bahay lng kami ni baby whole day), microwave, ref, rice cooker, washing machine 3x a week, 1-2 times a week, food processor for baby food, bottle sterilizer, and parati kami gumagamit ng oven like once or twice a week siguro. parati din kami gumagamit ng water heater. kinakabahan ako sa next bill kasi i remember sa first few weeks of stay namin less pa ang usage namin sa mga appliances.

i'll keep everyone posted once we receive our next bill which will be on nov. end :)

@TTam - budget are found below...

    http://pinoyau.info/discussion/1052/au-migrants-pls-share-your-weekly-budget#latest

utilities bill are more or less the same whether you rent or own the house. meron lang ata water charges na the home owner needs to pay, roughly $50/month - this is in Victoria.

Melbourne versus Sydney, I can say mas mahal ang Sydney - I have a mate living 35km West of Sydney and they are paying rent of $450/wk for a 2-1-1; ako naman I am a rent of $350/wk for a 2-1-1 din at a suburb 10km north of the CBD in Melbourne.

    @moonwitchbleu

Mahal yan ang electricity mo; you may want to call them and check to have it readjusted... In your bill makikita mo yung total energy usage mo.

And compute mo your daily usage (look at your meter reading/# of days in the bill cycle) and tell them that something is not right. This happened to me before sa gas usage ko when we were still starting. Ayun I disputed it on the advise of some people in the forum - they sent a revised bill and it was more than 50% below the original bill.

    Salamat po!

Thank you po sa link, we'll definitely read this one. Maganda nga daw po sa Melbourne, most liveable city. :)

    @moonwitchbleu

@TasBurrfoot i'll check our bill again. sobrang taas nga ng binayaran namin. thanks for the advice sir :)

Mas mahal pala tubig when you own your own property na! :) From $100/quarter it shoot up to $250/quarter sa amin with roughly the same usage...

This was due to several other charge not required when you are just renting! :)

No, you have to take care of the connections by yourself. The agent can probably help on this (as they will get commission on the back of a successful utilities referral).

No dramas here mate, it should be done within an hour.

Hello po, medyo matagal na po last update ng thread na to baka nagtaas na ang rate ng electricity, gas and water. We are new here in Sydney. 2 mos pa lang kami ni hubby dito and we are moving next week to our own place. Para may idea kami how much babayaran namin. Please share naman po how much you are paying for electricity, gas and water. TIA

Share ko lng po 2 mos palang po kami sa Sydney and we are currently staying at our relatives. 4 adults kami. Sabi samin our share sa electricity is 500+. We did not ask to see the bill kasi nahihiya kami. Ganun na po ba kamahal bill ngayon? para po kasi mabudget nanamin kasi si hubby lang ang working at ako stay at home atm.

Perhaps you should ask to see the bill. Sa amin, we are billed quarterly at roughly $600 pero that's only because todo kami mag-heater in Winter. Otherwise, the average is around $400 per quarter, which is just under $200 per month. So kung 4 kayo, divided by 4 pa dapat ang $500 na yan.

My suggestion is, ask to see the bill. Para lang kamo may idea rin kayo kapag nagsarili kayo in the future.
