NZ nurse wanting to move to Australia

Hello po. I am a nurse currently working in New Zealand as a nurse with a permanent resident VISA. I really would like to transfer to Australia para mas malapit sa Pinas at mas madaling maka-uwi sa atin. May maliit na bata po kasi akong na iwan don. I have been working here in New Zealand as a nurse for more than 3 years now. Gusto ko lang pong magtanong kung ano ang proseso para makalipat sa Australia, work as a nurse and eventually be an Australian permanent resident or citizen. May mga website or agency po ba kayong masu-suggest na makakatulong sa akin na maghanap ng vacancy diyan. Balak ko sana sa Darwin lumipat para mura lang ang pamasahe papuntang Pinas.

Salamat po. Hope to hear from any of you. God bless.

Hello! I use to work at adhb:) 3 plus yrs din ko there in auckland.

    1. first get an australan rn license through the transtasman agreement pathway..go to the aphra website. 2 -3 weeks lng yan.
    2. With a valid rn license hanap ng work online. Dont quit ur nz job until may plane ticket/start date to au na kasi u will need visa pa.
    3. With a job offer, apply for 457 visa or employer sponsored work visa. Medicals then visa approval.

Nz p.r. Has ni bearing in au. Sadly, kahit sa healthcare wala. Only nz citizens have health benefits in au but not nz p.r. Even childcare..full fees ang nz p.r. For under 5s. No rebates tayo.

Other option is if u are not in a hurry...
    1. Apply for rn license with aphra.
    2. With that license.. Process your anmac assessment. Nursing and midwifery assessment council who will say at par ung degree at practice mu with oz. if tapos na sa anmac. Anmac takes upto 3-4 months.
    3. Apply for e.o.i. For a 189 p.r. Visa while still in nz...so pagdating mu sa au p.r. Na.
Mga 1 yr. running time ng 2nd option kasi hanap ka pa ng work after.

    Goodluck:)

Thank you so much for the info. Very helpful talaga. May isang question lang po to verify.. dun sa option 1, yung 3rd step (applying for a 457 visa) dito sa NZ yun ipa-process no? :) Apply lang sa immigration website ng Aus? :) Thank you again for the info and for taking the time to answer.

just a thought, gano katagal maging citizen sa NZ?
kung 4 years lang, why not wait for that, be a NZ citizen, and then move to AU?
is that a more feasible way? im assuming mas madaling mag move to AU pag NZ citizen na.

yes, madali daw mag move kung nz citizen na. kaya lang, it takes 5yrs to apply for citizenship after maging pr. and may narinig ako, di to confirmed, na they require the applicant na daw ngayon to stay for a year here in new zealand after being a citizen. that is just second hand info, di ko talaga na check. so medyo matagal pa.. i would rather be an australian citizen na lang siguro, dahil parang mas gusto kong dun magtagal sa australia kaysa dito. nz is a beautiful place and the people are generally very friendly, kaya lang nga, ang layo sa pinas. sobrang mahal ang pamasahe. also, i think nurses in aus are better compensated than here. that's what i heard..

@li_i_ren by the way, pahirit pa po ng isa pang tanong kung pwede..... :) dun sa option 1, after i get a work visa. ilang months or years ang kelangan bago makapag-apply ng permanent resident visa na? and if mag-aaply na for a permanent resident visa, pareho lang ba ang requirements for p.r ang options 1 and 2? if i go for option 1 and mag-aaply na ako for residency, same steps ba as steps 2&3 in option 2? thank you talaga ha. all your info is really very helpful. medyo matagal na akong nag se-search online for info, but i didn't know where to look until finally i found this forum. hopefully, someday, i can do the same and help people with info that they need if and when i get there na.

Ako i took option 1. While working there sa adhb, i got my au license and looked for a job in au. Took me 3-4 months to find a job i think kasi paeds ii.c.u lng most applications ko. Then when i got a job offer, my employer filed a 457 visa application for me and the resti did everything online and medicals sa auckland lng.

On a 457 visa, if u want 190 p.r. Visa or employered sponsored.. 2 yrs wait time. But i am going for a 189 so i will retake my ielts. 189 kasi i dont want to be tied up with my employer..so at least may 1 yr au experience na ako plus my nz na 4 yrs or so..pwdi na yan/;)

My friend did option 2 kasi may valid ielts pa sila.. 2007 pa ielts ko so option 2 is not for me. So while in nz.. Ung qualification as a nz rn pwding ipa assess ng anmac for p.r. 189. Iba din ung au license with aphra..get that first kasi 2-3 weeks lng. But anmac..please google lng requirements nila.. 3-4 months ung assessment then pag ok na from them. Apply for e.o.i with diac. Give it half a year..lahat2x. Ok toh na option if may ielts ka and time.

Lock, i stayed in nz mga 4 yrs din bur i only got p.r. On my 2nd yr. there so technically may mga 3 yrs. give or take pa.

I opted to move to au na..i have a sister here and better pay. Also i was thinking na sa nursing license pa lng always getting more difficult every yr to get one what more jobs... Like now, au new grad nurses are having a hard time looking for work.

We experience that before in nz kasi.. When i went there 2008 in my 2nd and 3rd week may job offerS na but the succeeding batches umaabot na ng 2-3 months before finding work until now some almost 6 months na to look for work.

Limited lng number of hospitals and so many nurses kaya dapat may sense of urgency. P.r. Or citizenship.. Easy lng yan as long as u have a job. But jobs are hard to find so dapat go where the job is at the right moment.

@li_i_ren pangalawang beses ko na tong type ng reply, palaging nag hahang at nawawala ang tina-type ko.. ^^

anyway, thank you so much again for taking the time to answer. yes, i will weigh my options after i get the aphra. kelangan ngang wag masyadong magbagal dahil we'll never know what changes they're going to make again sa requirements. katulad dito sa nz, pahirap na ng pahirap ang requirements nila for foreign rn registrations. may mga pinoy na na napa uwi dahil kelangan pang i-complete yung requirements. maybe that will happen as well in aus in the future.

thanks so much again. hope all goes well with your processing. :)

Guys, ask ko lang kung sino po ang nakpagpaassess na sa anmac, are they gonna mention on their letter of determination kung equivalent ang bachelors ko sa pinas with australian bachelor? Thanks. I heard that kahit section 3 ang school, equivalent pa din sa aussie bachelor basta PRC licensed,APHRA registered and with 120-200 units. Tama po ba ako? Salamat ulit in advance.

@junpebolz same!!! Mga 3 weeks plus.. Only email i got was that they received my docs. That was it no other email. So i dont know if may kulang pa bah or what... D naman pwding mag follow up. Bawal daw. So waiting game.

Yung kasama ko na approve na but 4 months daw yung waiting.

Yung isa no approval pa but daming pinagawa like wrong format daw yung professional references. But na comply naman nya thrn no other emails na..just waiting din sya for 2 months now.

So medyo matagal pa waiting natin! Hahaha!

Pero for me ha waste of time ang anmac..redundant sya. I have been working in australia 1 yr na tapos 3-4 yrs on nz.. Ngayon pa lng nila i-assess yung degree ko na i have had the au r.n. license from aphra almost 2 yrs ko na hawak yan even before i came to au.

Waste of money noh.. But kasi wala tayong choice but to pay then sge na lng.

thank u so much po sa mga info nyo! I read all your posts at napaka helpful po. I have the same pathway po with some of you. I took my CAP here in NZ and kakaapply kolang po sa AHPRA for transtasman last week. Prepared na din po ang requirements ko sa ANMAC wait kolang ang transtasman then mag lodge nako anmac. While waiting po I will start my work muna sa isang company ng aged care dito sa NZ para may pang PR po ako. curently waiting for my work visa. My concern po is 60 pointer lang ako, need ko pa ng 8 mos para maging 5 years to earn additional 5 points. Will it make any difference po or ok na wag ko na hintayin if may anmac result nako. I have heard kasi sa ilang threads na 70 plus palang ata ang pinapriority.

@vlademyr kung ako po sa inyo, wait mo na lang in 8 months then apply na para macredit ng ANMAC. I heard magiging online na lahat ng application processing nila, which will save applicants alot of $ and time!

Ako naman it would take another year para maging 65 pointer, so nag take na lang ako ng english test para makakuha ng Superior points 20 from Proficient na 10. Para from 60, ngayon ay 70pts na ako for 189 and 75pts for 190. :) you might want to consider that too, to speed things up.
