Medyo malayo sa topic pasensya na po.
I'm a B.S. Civil Engineering graduate sa Philippines pero ang field ko is structural engineering. I have 7 years work experience (Phi & abroad). Napansin ko medyo matagal, mahirap at magastos ang pag-process ng visa pag Skilled Migrant. Usually pag engineers ang hinahanap sa mga pinoy skilled migrants is "local experience". Tingin ko by "local experience" they mean knowledge about Australian Design Codes (one of the requirements).
Naisip ko, mag-aral muna sa Au ng Diploma Course like Advanced Structural Engineering then habang nag-aaral try maghanap ng employers na mag-sponsor ng work visa. Tingin ko mas madaling makahanap ng employers na mag-sponsor o ng work na related sa experience ko kasi magkakaruon na ako ng in-depth knowledge sa Australian Code.
Tanong lang po. May nakagawa na ba nito (either ibang profession or kapareho ko ng work experience?).

but i would just like to comment on your statement "matagal, mahirap at magastos ang pag-process ng visa pag Skilled Migrant"
Matagal - ang medyo matagal lang ang pag-ayos ng documents, but if you have everything ready, Skills Assessment (2mos), Visa Application (average 2 months, but meron dito sa forum na-approved within 1 month)
Mahirap - it depends on your situation.. reading your post, mukhang straightforward lang nmn ang application mo.. i mean walang complications masyado
Magastos - Cost ang pinakamalaking consideration talga.. compare mo ang cost ng schooling mo (tuition, allowance, rent) versus skilled migrant application fee (approx 3000aud + other expenses 1000aud)... pero kung may relative ka na susuport syo dun.. baka nga mas okay ang schooling...but also, mag-apply ka ng migrant visa, tapos saka pagdating dun mag-aral ka (mas mura ang tuition ng mga PR)..
