Hello! Na-curious lang ako dun sa news regarding the federal budget in regards to immigration. Basically, same pa rin 'yung planning levels which is at 160k, pero malaki na 'yung slice for skilled migration, which is at 70%.
Nakita ko rin na almost 150% ang tinaas ng 189 visa quota and almost same din for 190.
Questions lang:
1) Are these pre-pandemic levels? Ganito ba yung feel nung 2019?
2) Kung aakyat 'yung quota for 189/190, does that mean mas magkakaroon ng malaking chance na ma-invite ang mga 70-80 pointers aka less competition since there are more places?
3) Do you think this will be intact? Like wala ng chance dumagdag 'yung 160k? Lalo na ang daming business councils, reputable agencies, even big companies ang nagsasabi na dapat mas mataas pa diyan 'yung levels (e.g. Grattan Institute, KPMG, BCA)
Let's share some insights in this thread please! Para naman magkaroon ng liwanag ang lahat ng nagaantay, lalo na yung mga since 2019!

Have a look at this website to have an idea of how the migration plan/levels have changed over the years. From 2017-2019, they had 160k places, the year before that was 180k. Then during the pandemic they temporarily reduced it, and now they're going back up.

Whether 70-80 pointers will be invited when 189/190 quotas are increased is anyone's guess, especially if your occupation is highly in demand but with specific quotas, like accounting, IT, engineering.
As far as I know, the migration plans are mainly allocations/target slots. I'm not sure if they would change it mid-year, but I think they usually stick to the level they've announced. Depending on the pandemic situation, it's possible that this 160k level will remain the same for 2023-2024, unless the government determines that they need to boost migration levels further next year.

Thanks for the insights! I actually collated yung planning levels per year and yung skills allocation haha wala lang na-bored ako:
18-19: Total -- 160k | Skills -- 109.7k
19-20: Total -- 160k | Skills -- 108.7k
20-21: Total -- 160k | Skills -- 79.6k
21-22: Total -- 160k | Skills -- 79.6k
22-23 (now): Total -- 160k | Skills -- 109.9k
So mukhang bumalik na talaga sa pre-pandemic levels. Hopefully it's a good sign, especially for us na hanggang 80/85 points lang ang kaya.
Pero I feel na magiging tight pa rin sa una since there are so many backlogs all the way back to 2019. Hopefully din mabago yung pagbibigay ng invites, na imbis quarterly, maging monthly or even fortnightly, as what others had stated; ganun daw yung frequency ng invitations before the pandemic.

Asking lang po, may nakasulat ba sa federal budget FY2022-2023 if they will do quarterly invitational rounds or will revert to monthly. Naghahanap kasi ako if what will we expect sa invitational nila sa new FY.

No further details have been announced except from what is out there at the moment. That’s always the case, things will unfollowed on the start of the new financial year…so everyone awaits as to how procedure will pan out.

Ms @RheaMARN1171933, is there any news for non pmsol application lodged 2-3 years ago, if when will the immigration process them? Been waiting since November 2019, still the status is received. Really looking forward to some positive news from the government on the new financial year. 🙏

Answer is on the same post I made previously. Government just gives a vague info about the program for next financial year but won’t give detailed info until July. That’s how it’s always been. We continue to wait….and make sure you’re document ready all the time. Exhaust points on every angle. That’s all we can do at the moment.
