@mharcute you might want to consider a remark since speaking naman ang nadale pansin ko mas may chance kesa writing. alongside, resit na rin if my sufficient budget ka. mukhang matindi yung anaps na yun. 6 5 din ako dati dun

    @Stidleyfied Oo nga..kainis.

So mas nag focus ako sa Reading.

Nakatulong din kasi yung konting ingay kasi during exam me konting ingay ka ding maririnig eh. Para mas tumalas yung pandinig mo.

@sonsi_03 Yup, pa remark muna ako this November.
Then, by Feb, kung di mabigay yung 0.5 ko, then resit.

Yung isang kakilala ko, based sa description nya, yung anaps din na yun sa speaking nya. she gave her 6.5 din. Nung nag pa remark, naging 7.5

Sa mga nabasa ko online, Pag local Test Center daw, usually they give a conservative grade.
Say your on the 6.5-7.0 bracket, they will give your 6.5 instead.
Although they got standards on marking, subjective pa din talaga ang writing at speaking. Unlike listening and Reading.

@nice_guy yes your right, that is also my understanding, the one who will give the score is not the same person who facilitated the exam, because base on the my experience the examiner who handle my speaking test, keeps on encouraging me to talk more, to prevent a dead air during the recording. If he thinks that my answer is short, he will make hand gestures telling me to expound my answer.

This is correct. It will add more credibility to the scoring kesa ung examiner ang magbibigay ng score. baka magkasuhulan pa yan. Scoring is being performed independently and can be verified in case of disputes/ remarking kaya recorded. It also prevent bias scoring kasi nakikita mo ung kausap mo and baka yung scoring is may effect sa visual impression mo sa examinees. Kaya parang the voice philippines lang yan, boses lang ang may score hence the recorded conversations.

Examiner ko din before is very helpful sa speaking, making hand gestures to encourage me to keep speaking.

Examiner ko din before is very helpful sa speaking, making hand gestures to encourage me to keep speaking.
kaya pala nakatalikod yung chair nung examiner ko :P

hehehe. But ofcourse it is advisable that you make some hand gestures and even smiles during the conversation because it will be reflected in your recorded speaking exam (your confidence and emotions). Tsaka walang dead air moments, kaya ako dati kung ano ano nlang sinasabi ko basta walang pause. Weird din kasi mga tanong nun.

@mharcute ahhh salamat nga pala anung writing question mo?marerecall mo ba hehe mapagpraktisan man lang

Task 1 : write a letter to an agent regarding house moving.
Task 2: is younger staff more productive than older staff? Do you agree or disagree.
--sagot ko dito, both. Like sa gaming industry, more on younger generation yung pool of employees nila. Then sa older staff, mas suitable sila sa Consulting. Bihira naman tayong makikita ng consultant na age 21 and claim na they are a reliable consultant on that field. Syempre, they need the experience and know how...Basta elaborate mo lang then lagyan mo conclusion, kung agree ka or disagree. pwede mo isummarized yung sinabi mo sa sa first 2 paragraphs.

You need to increase your vocabulary. So, reading is the best way to increase you vocabulary.

The recording is not really for us, but to exaluate the examiners during the Test.

Yung 2 experts po na sinasabi nyo is if you are to go for remarking. Then, they will send the Tape and 2 experts will review the tape. Although me set of rules, the exam might still be subjective.

    Question types - Speaking

What’s in the IELTS Speaking test?

The Speaking test is a face-to-face interview between the candidate and an examiner. The Speaking test is recorded.
There are three parts to the test, and each part follows a specific pattern of tasks in order to test your speaking ability in different ways.

    Marking

Certificated IELTS examiners assess your speaking performance throughout the test. There are four assessment criteria (things which the examiner thinks about when deciding what score to give you):

    - Fluency and coherence
    - Lexical resource
    - Grammatical range and accuracy
    - Pronunciation.

    Heres another article:
    http://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/article/evaluating-speaking-ielts-speaking-test

    IELTS

    What happens in a test?
The IELTS speaking test is one candidate and one examiner, who manages the test and evaluates the candidate at the same time. The test is separated into three parts. Each part takes about 4 minutes. In parts 1 and 2 the examiner uses a script, in part 2 a list of questions.

I know, after the candidate leaves the room, then they do the marking using the guide they have. Kaya nga me konting waiting time after each candidates.

@mharcute When I look at my TRF, iba iba yung Examiner # sa Writing and Speaking section. Since 1 lang naman ang examiner namin during that day sa 4 na test, most likely na hindi yung examiner that test day ang nagbigay ng score.

Anyway, whichever is the case, wala namang difference as long as you are confident and maayos ang sagot sa mga questions. :)

For example kung magsasalita ang candidate ng napakahusay sa tapat nung recorder without looking at the Examiner, doing hand gestures, or making facial expressions, etc.. would he still get the optimum score he targets?

It is worthwhile to note din na during the Speaking exam, although ang candidate ang majority na nagsasalita, it is still a "conversation", and you have to engage the Examiner.. kaya he is urging you to talk more.

    3:00 to 4:30

I believe they have basis to say na hindi yung examiner mismo yung nag ii score sa Speaking Test.

Anyway, it would be safe to assume both, na either yung examiner or other person yung nagbibigay ng score. So importante yung hand gestures/eye contact/facial expression sa examiner, as well as clear and sounds confident yung sa recording.

I believe it is best to assume na yung mismong kausap mo ang magbibigay ng grado sayo... if you performed well doon sa actual Speaking exam, it would transcend doon sa recording, and any examiner na makiking doon would give relatively the same score.

In my observation, my examiner was talking a lot to me before and after the exam.. I don't know but somehow, I can feel that yung pakikipag-usap ko sa kanya ang actual "test" na ginagawa nya sakin...

Let’s be mindful that although IELTS is a very technical test, “communication” ang foundation nung exams na yun and mga totoong tao yung examiners.

Baka kasi yun yung konting "boost" na kailangan nating ibigay para ma-push pa natin yung scores natin a band higher...

Again, don't take my word for it... Just my opinion and observations po. :)
