@ lock_code2004./ @hotshot/ @LokiJr : I agree that BC can provide the necessary techniques and they offer more advice than tutorial, aside from being expensive. Anyway practice is still the key and these review centre/tutorial will help boost the chance of passing.

Still up to us to "roll-over" the stones ;)

    Thanks again for the advice.

    (2) It doesn't mean naman cguro diba na if you took another exam ma nullify or not usable na ang previous records mo - i.e. in our case, valid pa naman cguro yung 1st diba?

    Appreciate any insights! :)

    Thanks
yan din ang napag-isip isip ko if ever i retake the IELTS.

Writing - don't go overboard. a few words beyond the 200-word and 400-word essays. (tama nga ba? yung dami ng words) is ok. the more you write, the bigger the chances of making errors, avoid slang (use aren't or are not and not ain't) and please do check your spelling, sentence construct (IE. verb-noun agreement, tenses, apostrophes, etc.) like yung your or you're. things like that.

Speaking - favorite ng karamihan (lunok) part. heheh. (i hated it too). think about the interviewer's question. ok lang i-parepeat ang question kung di naintidihan kesa sumagot tapos ang layo naman sa tinatanong nya, sablay ang dating. wag mag-saulo ng scripted na answers kasi pag-nagpress-on ang interviewer doon sa sagot mo at nawala bigla ang eloquence mo at ang mala-Miriam Defensor highfalutin ek-ek mo eh obvious na kabisote ka. Be truthful sa sagot. hindi ito job interview. you are there to be assessed on your english language competency. kaya wag puro positive ang sagot. yung totoo lang sa kalooban nyo (IE. interviewer: why do you want to migrate to australia? interviewee: i wanted to get away from a hyper-materialistic asian society that is severely lacking in work-life balance and subtly treats its migrant workers like a trading commodity)

Nagtanong ako sa usher what to do kc mauubos oras ko kapag inulit kong sulatin.
Binigyan ako ng another answer sheet for Task 2 and I wrote my essay in page 3and4 (page 1 and 2 blank).
Sa tingin nyo ba reason ito for me to get lower score? Or possible that one of my answer sheet ay hindi nabasa?
    Advisable ba ito for remarking?
    Sna may mkapag advise.
    Thank you.

For e.g sa SA State Sponsorship naka lagay dun 6.5 IELTS requirements lang. Tapos sa DIAC 7. Alin po ba susundin?

yes.. its quite confusing.. but still you need to consider the different requirements of the following:
    1) your assessing authority...
    2) State Sponsorship
    3) DIAC's minimum requirement is 6 which is equal to 0 pts..

so in the end, kailangan mo masatisfy lahat yan.. and ofcourse consider your total DIAC's points..
kung aabot ka ba ng total 60 pts.. remember with SkillSelect, mas mataas na EOI points, mas mabalis ma-invite.. so try to get the highest score as possible..

    Goodluck..

The ielts requirement you need to follow is the one from diac. If kulang ka sa points then need mo 7 bands in all para me 10 points ka. If need mo 20 points you need 8 in all bands sa ielts. Then for your state sponsorship, if 6.5 and requirement you can pass an ielts w a 6.5 band on it. Pero pag magpapasa kana ng ielts sa diac and you need points for yer ielts para pasok sa 60 point requirement, then you need to pass an ielts w a 7 in all band on it if not, rejected ang visa application mo due to lack of points.

From my experience, my state sponsor required only a 6.5 in all band in ielts so I was able to give them my 1st ielts test. However while waiting for my state sponsorship approval which normally takes 1 month, I was taking my 3rd and 4th ielts at the same time since I need to claim 10 points for my ielts so i can pass the 65 point mark. Aun after 7plus in all na ielts ko. So after I receive my state sponsorship, I got also my passed ielts test result so I was able to use it to apply the 176 visa.

@RobertSG My score sa writing was 7.0, pero confident ako I deserve an 8, so nagpa-remark ako, sinuwerte naman tumaas score ko from 7.0-8.0. Although a bit too late na dumating yung result kasi na-invite na rin ako eh, pero at least mapapakita ko sa DIAC tumaas score ko.

If you feel confident, go ahead and ipa-remark mo, although matagal ha, 2 months aabutin. If tumaas score mo, you get your money back, kung the same, they keep your money.

I-assess nya yun, kung same or mas mbaba ang ibigay nya, i-retain nila old score mo, kung mas mataas, then yung ang magiging new score mo.

Pro sa content ng letter and essay I can say na I deserve better than 5.5.

My wife is planning to retake hoping that we can have a chance to take the maximum points. Previously she took the Academic Module (more difficult in reading and writing) as this is the requirement for Accountancy Skills Assessment. Thank God she met naman the score requirement.

If and when she will retake, she will take the General...

    Now my question is:

    (1) Okey lang ba different and ibibigay na Exam Results? i.e. Academic Module sa assessing body and eventually (and hopefully) sa DIAC yung General Module - assuming of course she can improve her score a bit and get the maximum points?

    (2) It doesn't mean naman cguro diba na if you took another exam ma nullify or not usable na ang previous records mo - i.e. in our case, valid pa naman cguro yung 1st diba?

    Appreciate any insights! :)

    Thanks
I am posting again my question hoping someone can give insights... Supposing you take another IELTS exam, will all your previous scores be rendered invalid?

@psychoboy As far as I know hindi. Ang titingnan lang nila eh yung Test Report Form, which is unique kada exam mo. Tumawag ako sa british council minsan, asking kung yung Test Report Form Number ko eh nag-iiba (kasi nagpa-remarking ako), sabi nila sakin unique yun per exam and in my case it's just remarking so hindi maiiba. Hence, titingin lang sila sa Test Report Form Number (They can view it online) and kung ano result dun, that's it.

Hope that helps. (Tip, use as much idiom as you can sa speaking and writing)

hindi po. the scores from one IETLS to another are independent. so you can take as many as you want and it does not affect the previous result. each IELTS is valid for 2 yrs.

however, from Academic to General that I'm not sure. IMO, this depends on which field you are in.

What I was thinking kasi - yung 1st IELTS ng wife ko was Academic and it did comply with the requirements of her assessing body (at least 7 in all subjects). This will be the one we will use to comply with the assessing bodies' requirement.

We though of enrolling for another IELTS - this time sa General naman as it is easier. This will be used for points na sa DIAC eventually (as we are very desperate for maximum points). My thought is that, DIAC only requires General so in a way, we would still be compliant diba? :)

hindi po. the scores from one IETLS to another are independent. so you can take as many as you want and it does not affect the previous result. each IELTS is valid for 2 yrs.

however, from Academic to General that I'm not sure.

You need to ensure you are able to provide evidence of the level of your English language ability attained at time of invitation. IELTS has an academic test and a general training test. Unless you are required to do otherwise by your assessing authority you only need to take the general training test.

Occupation: Analyst Programmer (ANZSCO Code 261311)
May 21 2012 - lodged visa 176 (NSW) online application
    May 30 2012 - CO allocation
    Jul 16 2012 - Visa Granted! (IED Deadline: May 16, 2013)

I see your point LokiJr - however since Academic ang requirement sa skills assessments ng wife ko, we have to comply with that...

However since we wanted to aim for 20pts sana, my wife thought of getting a retake. This time naman General nalang sana kukunin as it is easier. Our logic was, DIAC only requires general training...

Sino kaya pwede natin matanong nito? DIAC doesn't answer this right?

@psychoboy British Council is the safest bet and ask them kung ma-invalidate ba yung past result mo.

Yeah, I have spoken to BC earlier this afternoon... As far as they are concerned, di naman ma-invalidate ang previous tests mo. Which makes sense because if you are planning to retake and you got a lower score unfortunately pwede mo parin gamitin ang earlier and higher score.

I am concerned with how this may appear in DIAC - sa skills assessment kasi kailangan si misis ng Academic. Buti nalang, we managed to fullfill the requirements.

However for DIAC points purposes, pwede kaya mag retake ng General Module in the hope of getting superior (above 8 in all subjects) marks?

My stand is, kung di papayag ang DIAC nito parang unfair naman kasi sa mga accountants diba na strictly Academic lang sila pwede maka claim ng points just because ito ang requirements ng skills assessment body.

@psychoboy I'm assuming when you say DIAC, you mean dun sa SkillSelect EOI. (expression of interest). So, I'll try to address your concern by trying to walk you through sa EOI.

Once you create an EOI, it'll only ask whether na-assess na ba skills mo and then yung corresponding reference number. Then it'll ask for your age, then english skills. i-ask nya score mo per module (example, ako 8.5, 8.5, 7.0, 8.5), ang sabihin sakin ni skillselect 7 ang IELTS score and bibigyan ako ng 10 points. Then i-ask nya Test Report Form Number mo. (nagpa-remark ako and eventually got an 8.0 sa writing pero too late na, na-invite na rin ako eh, at least nabawi ko pera ko hehe)

At the end of the form, i-total nya claimed points mo, dependent sa visa na ni-select mo (i.e. pag pinili mo regional/state sponsored +5 na kagad). Ang importante eh ano ang i-claim mo and you have a document to prove it. If nag-retake ka (or your wife) ng Gen. Training and lahat 8.0 and above, pwde ka mag-claim ng 20 points.

Ang importante sa DIAC is you can prove what you've claimed sa EOI mo.

Thanks @LittleBoyBlue - more or less alam ko rin ang EOI process as my wife has an account already...

Ang iniiwasan ko lang eh, baka ma DQ kami at the end of the day kasi nga skills assessment namin needs an academic module.

Anyway, I may be thinking too much ahead already ahahaha! :)

Please bear with me guys, happy friday to you all... :D
