@cchamyl it may sound crazy but talking to yourself as if you are writing a journal is one way of improving your communication skills hehe....

pag client dialogue kasi medyo alam mo na direksyon ng sasabihin mo e...on the other hand, talking to yourself and discussing about topics out of the blue will help you come up with spontaneous answers to questions.

@cchamyl download mo yung Ace the IELTS reviewer sa Reviewer section ng forum. That's my favorite, dun ko nakita yung mga helpful tips - essay format, useful phrases, organization of thoughts, etc. - for writing, which is my weakness. For speaking naman, check out http://ieltsanswers.com. Maganda din yung mga tips niya dun, may mga sample videos din. For reading and listening modules, download mo din yung Cambridge reviewer, again, from the reviewer section on this forum.

Mahaba pa naman oras niyo hehe...or kung gipit talaga sa oras kahit magbasa, panoorin niyo na lang yung mga videos sa youtube tungkol sa IELTS hehe

hahaha... natawa ako sa suggestion mo 'coz i've been doing it for some time na... talking to myself in english... even in my thoughts... kino-correct ko pa grammar ko... i was starting to think that i'll go crazy any time soon... hahaha... in fairness... good practice na pala gnagawa ko... i agree with you on the dialogue with clients... tama... i am familiar with the subject kaya parang wala na... lalo na ngayon mga intsik kausap ko... barok ang english... good luck... pero bahala cla... straight english pa din ako... bahala mag nosebleed cla... patas lang kami... nosebleed din naman ako pag nagsasalita na cla sa language nla... HAHAHAHA...

Im already starting my IELTS review for "General Training". I started with Cambridge 7. Sa reviewer ng Cambridge, magkahalo yung Academic at General Training materials. Ok lang ba magreview ako ng Academic materials in preparation with General training exams? Sorry kung medyo weird ang tanong ko. . Means kung may nag take dito ng General Training exam, nireview ba lahat ng laman ng Cambridge from cover to cover?

Take note na sa Writing, sa Task 1 lang nagkaiba ang GT and Acad. For Reading naman, totally different sila, mas mahirap ang Acad. I tried to do it before pag nauubusan na ko reviewers pero parang mas nakaka-drain siya ng utak. Heheh!

@vhoythoy sure, but have you tried accessing the IELTS reviewer link? nandun na kasi and you can download it already. If you want it through email, later ko pa ma-send.

@vhoythoy studying Academic for a General Exam would not help a lot kasi yung mga tanong para sa Acad e hindi naman lalabas sa General.

Personally, hindi kailangan maging komplikado yung IELTS review...just focus on the fundamentals

@ Loki Kabado kasi ako haha. So dapat piliin ko talaga sa Cambridge yung pang general training. Sa cambridge 7 section 1 listening plang ako. 28/40, review pa talaga mabuti hehe

Last night nag booked ako sa IDP Singapore, tinignan ko lang yung date, Jan19 ok sa sked ko. Tapos pag check ko knina umaga, Academic lang pla available sa araw nayun. Pag tawag ko sa IDP, di daw pwede ilipat date or transfer sa GT, kasi less than 5 weeks na daw. So either mag take ako ng Academic or forfeit ko nalang.

So Academic na talga kukunin ko, no choice =( Goodluck sa akin

Di ko sure. basta alam ko dapat maka 7 ako sa lahat ng bands para may points. bahala na, mahal din kasi. review nalang ako maige sa reading at part 1 ng writing.the rest yata parehas lang sa general

hindi po ba magkapareha ung required na ielts for accountant/auditor na nominated occupation?

ano po ako internal auditor sa vetassess. sa external auditor and accountant academic sila. pero ok napasubo na, na check ko din naman pwede din gamitin academic kahit general training lang dapat =(

Good day, my fellow IELTS takers...

Last December 8, I took the IELTS test on a whim because my husband suggested that I take a job as an IELTS lecturer/reviewer. I registered exactly 2 weeks before the exam date and because of my job, I was unable to review or prepare for the test. I honestly thought it was just like any other English exams because I have a lot of friends who have taken it and easily got overall band scores of 8 and 9.

Last night, I checked my IELTS exam results and it was a bit disappointing. I was aiming for a total band score of 8 or 8.5, however, because of my scores in the writing and speaking sub-tests, my overall band score became a 7.5.

Here are my sub-tests' scores:
L - 8
R - 9
S - 7.5 (I know I committed a few grammatical errors [e.g. wrong prepositions) and I struggled with part 2 of the speaking test ['describe a very memorable trip you took as a child' - My parents never took us on any trips when my brothers and I were still kids so I struggled with the content of my short speech] however, I was still expecting an 8)
W - (a friggin') 6

It's true that I failed to add an overview or a conclusion to my composition for writing task 1 (I ran out of time) and instead of 150-175 & 250-280 words, I wrote approximately 220 words and 330 words in task 1 and task 2, respectively. However, I do not believe these should have a big impact on my band score. I rechecked my essays before the time was up and I know I did not commit any spelling errors. I think I deserve at least a 7.

Should I request for a remark? If so, how good are my chances at having my writing and speaking score increased?

@jaroma Congratulations, magaganda scores mo
Remarking result would take at least 6-8 wks, there are few cases that their W scores would go up to addtl 1 pt. You can request for remarking (but there is no guarantee that you will get the outcome that you want) At the same time take another ielts exam, para may fallback.

@jaroma sabi sa mga IELTS guides it helps to have an introduction and conclusion to your work pero hindi siya deal breaker...kung yun lang po talaga naging mali ninyo sa written exam, hindi 6 ibibigay sa inyo...baka may iba pang naging problema?

Try niyo na rin ipa-reassess yan, baka tumaas pa

December 1 ako nag-take, eto topic ko:

"Some people think that life will be better for people in the next century. Give your opinion on this."

Hehe don't be! English proficiency exam lang yan at walang dapat katakutan...

Plus kung hindi talaga kayo pinalad sa IELTS, you can always look for employer sponsored visas that don't need very high IELTS scores
