20140113 - Submitted ACT SS nomination

20140317 - Finally got my ACT sponsorship!
    20140319 - Invited to apply (visa 190)
    20140325 - Lodged visa 190
    20140718 - Direct visa grant. IED: July 17, 2015
20150203 - Landed in ACT :) Job hunt begins

@bookworm i believe i have enough points naman but I saw somewhere here na nag.apply siya for State sponsorship while nag.EOI din siya sa skilled. Accountant din I just forgot who that is and from what thread -tanungin ko sana. Panigurado lang ata. So does it mean na when you are in SOL you have better chances kesa kung mg.SS? Which route is better ba? Or it's not comparable kasi iba ibang skills or occupations yan pag.SS and yung sa 189?

Question po @bookworm. I'm with the government for a year now as full time employee. But I was here for a total of 3 years already pero Job Order. Accounting Clerk III as JO pero I function as Accountant. But of course the contract kasi says clerk.

I'm counting on that para sa assessment ko. Do you think ma.count kaya yung pagka.JO ko?

Not sure if this the right thread for this.. i-share ko lang 'tong nabasa kong news from SA immigration website re occupation ceiling removed for state nominated visa (190/489).

    https://www.migration.sa.gov.au/news and events

    DIBP Occupational Ceiling Removed
From 1 Mar 2014, state and territories are no longer subject to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection’s (DIBP) occupational ceilings for the 190 and 489 state nominated visas – see http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/. There will continue to be state planning levels (quotas) for each occupation on the State Nominated Occupation List (SNOL).

Immigration SA has reviewed availability for the six occupation groups which were previously limited by DIBP. Many of these occupations have now been made available again on the State Nominated Occupation List (SNOL). The following six occupation groups have been reviewed by Immigration SA:

    • 2331 Chemical and Materials Engineers
    • 2334 Electronics Engineers
    • 2339 Other Engineering Professionals
    • 2611 ICT Business and Systems Analysts
    • 2613 Software and Applications Programmers
    • 2633 Telecommunications Engineering Professionals

Please note: there are limited places available for the occupations from these groups which have been made available.

The occupations of 233111 Chemical Engineer, 233999 Engineering Professionals Nec and 261313 Software Engineer will remain as “Special Conditions” due to reaching the state planning level. Occupations listed as Special Conditions are only available to International Graduates of South Australia who meet the state nomination criteria.

Hi All..I'm newbie po dito. Kindly me advise po guys regarding my situation.

nagsubmit po ako ng EOI & WA SS last Feb 17, until now wala pa invitation. Di rin pd sa SA SS kasi naka-reserve ang slot for those nag-aral within Australia.

I need to retake my ielts (sked ko Mar 15,2014) kasi meron ako 6.5 na score sa reading part to qualify sa 189..need ko pa ba magpa- VETASSESS for my other employment records na di related sa Chemical engineering? Meron ako previous teaching experience kasi.

@johans Hi Johans, as far as I know po, pag di sya available sa WA, you'll not be issued an invitation. The best thing to do is wait for July pag nag-issue sila ng new list. Same like us, we're waiting for July so we can apply for SS. Or if you're qualified for visa 189, better go for it kesa mag-intay ng July.

For Vetassess, I dont think na need mo pa magpa-assess kung ok naman ng EA assessment mo. 1 occupation lang naman i-honor nila kasi.

Let's wait for others to reply, baka mali ako.

    Waiting for God's perfect timing....

Magpa-sched palang ako by May siguro. Grabe ang tagal ng EA assessment...

ika nga ni @TasBurrfoot, no, di ka puwede. You need at least 60 points.
Your work experience does not count unless you worked abroad or in Australia.

    Ano ba work mo?
this is incorrect.. work exp are counted (whether in phils, abroad or aus) as long as its related to your nominated occupation..
    @lock_code2004 and @mh_con
    yeah, sorry, let me qualify.

First, You need to get your skills assessed. Your work experience will count when you get your skills assessed. BUT it won't get you that 15 points you mentioned if you worked only in PH.
To get those additional points, you need the following:
    Skilled employment outside Australia
At least three but less than five years (of past 10 years) -5 pts
At least five but less than eight years (of past 10 years) -10 pts
At least eight and up to 10 years (of past 10 years) -15 pts

    Skilled employment in Australia
At least one but less than three years (of past 10 years) - 5 pts
At least three but less than five years (of past 10 years) - 10 pts
At least five but less than eight years (of past 10 years) - 15 pts
At least eight and up to 10 years (of past 10 years) - 20 pts
hehe correct me if I am wrong though :)

@tartakobsky & @bookworm You will be awarded 15 points for work experience po only if you are able to provide documentary evidence of work 8 years in the past 10 years regardless po kung san country ka nagwork. (For IT professional naman, 8 years after ACS have deducted yung required number of years to be considered as skilled).

    @Xiaomau82, nalito na ako.
    According to this:
    http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/pdf/points-tested-migration-fact-sheet.pdf
only australian work or overseas work has additional points.

San po nakasulat yung 8 or 15 points?
Or are we talking about different visa types?

@bookworm Iyon pong 'overseas' ay experience outside Australia. Not necessarily abroad, kaya ma-claim mo din po 15points kahit puro Pilipinas ang experience basta pasok po sa number of years.

depende which state po yan. ang alam ko na nagrerequire ng offer of employment na state is tasmania. tapos sa ngayon is WA, pero depende kung schedule 1 or schedule 2 yung nominated occupation mo. if your occupation falls under schedule 2, dun lang sia required.
applicable lang po to sa WA.

Since 99% ng Filipino educated nurses ay nag undergo ng bridging program sa Australia before registration as a nurse with AHPRA, I think, I have to set my eyes on this too. On the other hand, paano kapag RN na ako doon sa Australia then naging positive ang skills assessment ko with ANMAC. Here are my questions:

    1. Which state processes state sponsorship faster?
    2. Is there an application fee for SS in NSW, SA or Vic?
    3. How much would be the estimate cost for a SS? (I read somewhere about 3,+++ AUD?)
    4. What are the processing times for each state?
    5. Which is faster state sponsored or regional? Which is also cost effective between the two? I have relatives in Adelaide.

Thank you po. I currently have 55 points. Although I have more than 3 years of job experience on my possible nominated job, di ako sure sa additional points doon kai hindi paid yung 1 year doon. So, 55 points muna.

    I hope you can help.

@Yukishih @bytubytu You can refer to this po for WA state nomination requiring offer of employment for those occupations under schedule 2(see page 3, second from top) - http://www.migration.wa.gov.au/SiteCollectionDocuments/skilled_migration_criteria_2013-2014 (4).pdf

In response to your queries po:
    1. Depende sa timing, state nomination processing time varies but the average processing time is about 3 months. Currently, SA po ang fastest with processing time of 3.5 weeks
    2. For SA and Vic, wala po but for NSW, if I’m not mistaken, application fee is 300aud
    3. Application fee ranges from 0- 330aud plus disbursement of approximately 300-500aud depending on the number of pages/ documents unless mag agent kayo which is additional cost.
    4. An average of 3 months for all states
    5. State nominated, once application is successful you will automatically get the ITA. If you can qualify for State nomination, mas advisable na you apply for subclass 190 kasi indi visa condition yung pag stay sa state unlike sa regional sponsorship.

    @Xiaomau82

    Thanks sa response.

Do you think I have better chances with a Relative Sponsored visa than State Nomination since I have relatives in Adelaide which postcode is also a regional area?

    Thanks uli.

Practically, mas ok ang state nomination compared to regional sponsorship. Isa pa, PR ang state nomination (SC 190) compared sa SC 489 na provisional visa which has visa condition na sa regional area ka lang pwede.
