Kamusta batchmates! Hope all is well sa lahat especially sa mga natitira at nag aantay ng grant. Darating nadin yan! I've already tried applying offshore and of course I got some rejection letters already and some are still assessing. Medyo matumal talaga ang market sa Adelaide and of course the financial year is about to close. Hopefully by the time na dumating ako eh may work na or maraming opening. I'm planning to go to Sydney din this CNY week para ma activate yung initial entry and of course roam around and have an idea of how it is there though ibang iba and Sydney sa Adelaide. Hope we can all still be active here to be able to help other aspiring migrants, and share/ help each other with living in down other.

Ako rin nagstart nang mag-apply for Educator jobs directly sa mga Childcare Centres. Ikinuha ako ng boyfriend ko ng Australian number na naka-divert sa Philippine cellphone number ko para Australian number yung matatawagan nila. So far, 26 companies yung pinadalhan ko ng cover letter and resume. In a span of one day, meron nang tatlong tumawag and gusto na magschedule ng interview. Pero nung nalaman nila na sa May or June pa ko maglaland sa Oz, sabi nila tawagan ko nalang sila uli by then. And then meron rin akong natanggap na dalawang rejection emails from two other centres. No word from the others na sinendan ko ng resume.

So ayun, hindi na uli ako nag-attempt magsend ng resume dahil sa field ko, I think mas mahalaga na makita muna nila ako in person. So saka nalang uli ako maghahanap ng job pag tipong one month before my flight para mas madali makapag-schedule ng interview.

Maybe May or June at the start of the financial year. Sa case mo kasi dapat before the start of the School year which is December pero tama ka na mas mabuti if andun na coz they probably need it ASAP. Otherwise you can touch base with those you have applied and tell them that your there na. You're in the same working field with my wife so I might ask for your help soon in case she still wants to teach. I wanted to get an Oz number din but since limited din ang openings na nakikita ko, mas makakabuti at tipid if I get it when I'm already there.

I'm into retail design, events & exhibition right now but I'm mainly in Industrial design at madami akong nakitang design agencies din sa adelaide at meron din opening once in a while. Mas marami talagang openings sa ibang state kaya tama ka na medyo matindi labanan dun dala din siguro ng economy crisis at affected ang manufacturing industry.

@sunflower, Pano yung australian number tas divert? May idea ka sa ginawa ng bf mo?

Well, from what I've seen here on the forums and in other expat forums, merong mga pumapayag sa skype and phone interviews. Pero, usually sa IT related fields yun. Education ang field ko eh, so since kailangan okay ang demeanor towards kids, mas prefer nila siguro ang face to face interview.

Hindi ko exactly alam ang technicalities na ginawa ng boyfriend ko. Pero ang pagkakaalam ko kasi, bumili siya ng Optus SIM from Australia. And then inactivate niya using his phone there yung SIM. After that, naka-divert using VOIP through his company.

Pwede mo rin siya gawin kung may kakilala kang nasa Australia na pwede bumili at mag-activate ng Australian SIM for you. But if not, another option is through Skype. Pwede ka mamili ng landline number (i-research mo nalang kung ano yung code sa Australian State of choice mo) and then madi-divert yung calls sa Skype account mo. So pag ganito ang mode mo, kailangan palagi naka-on ang internet at Skype sa phone/tablet/laptop na gagamitin mo.

may 2nd contact na ako requiring me some missing documents for my son, then by right its the 18th day from the last contact we had from our CO.

so estimate ko is somewhere around this friday or next week feb 8 if my probability is super good or sobrang swerte ko lang.
