NEW PASS MARK (60 pts) BENEFICIAL TO TRADE PERSONS ONLY

I spoke to one of the employees in Skills Australia. He said that the new pass mark (60 pts) will encourage trade persons like carpenter, rigger, crane operator, welder, mason, etc. to apply for skilled independent migration. Whilst the new pass mark is applied to all occupations, it is unlikely that professionals with high level of competition like ICT, engineers, accountants, managers, etc will be selected on the pool if their points are MINIMUM.

All applications both offshore and onshore will go into the pool and will be ranked accordingly. English speakers and onshore applicants with superior IELTS (8.0) are favoured most.

Hello po, ask ko lan pag na grant ba ng state sponsorship sa Victoria, automatic may invitation sa skill select although un points, let say nasa 60-70 lan. Diba pataasan ng points sa skill select, i read from other forum, if possible maka 80-90 para may chance to get invited. Pero pag na approve ang SS , right away may invitation after we submit the EOI right?

I think pataasan pa rin para sa State Sponsorship...saka subject to the occupation ceiling.

Kung granted ang state sponsorship application mo, pataasan ka rin sa mga nabigyan ng grant and then depende rin yun kung tumatanggap pa sila ng applicant sa bawat trabaho

I understand sa explanation sakin nung tga South Australi Immigration na nakausap ko once you have an approved state sponsorship, the state will automatically nominate your EOI no. sa skill select for visa application then if you meeting the passing points you will invited to lodge. Hindi pataasan sa state sponsor visa bsta you the sponsorship, you meet the passing mark and your occupation doesn't meet yet the occupation ceiling you will be invited. Yan din explained sakin ng agent ko, tumawag din ako sa South Australia to confirmed. See below yung explanation ng skill select sa Independent Visa and State/Territory Nominated Visa;

Independent and family sponsored visas
Invitations will be issued automatically to people with the highest ranking EOIs, subject to occupation ceilings and to those whose points score exceed the current pass mark.

The points test pass mark is the minimum number of points required to receive an invitation. Not all EOIs that meet the points test pass mark will receive an invitation.

The department’s staff will not choose who will receive an invitation. Invitations will be issued regularly, such as every month.

State and territory nominated visas
State or territory governments can select skilled workers who they want to nominate. State and territory governments may do their own assessment of people before they nominate them. If you are nominated by a state or territory and you have indicated that you meet the points test pass mark, you will then receive an invitation, subject to occupation ceilings.

When you submit an EOI for one of these visas, you will be asked to choose which state or territory you wish to live and work in. You can select one state or territory, or any state or territory. You will also be asked to indicate if you are prepared to live and work in a non-metropolitan area. If you choose only one state or territory then that state or territory government will be able to view your EOI. If you select any state or territory, then all state or territory governments will be able to view your EOI.

@Gench no problem . ako nga din nag hihintay ng reply ng SA 8 weeks processing nila. Pero sana mapabilis kse update ng SA is tapos na nila maprocess lahat ng application ng 2011-2012.

@LokiJr Actually pataasan din yung unang naisip ko kahit state sponsored visa, e nireview ko yung skill select ska yung process ni SA sa staesponsorship. Hindi ako nakuntento tumawag pa ako sa immigration ng SA. hehehe....para sigurado ayun confirmed nga bsta manominate ka ng state at pasado yung points mo at hindi pa narereach yung ceiling occupation....Go go na! actually mas naging pabor pa sakin kse mas mababa yung passing mark ngayon at minimum of 6 lang yung band score sa IELTS ng SA, hindi na ko magreretake ng IELTS . Yun din ang advise ng agent ko. Kaya sa mga nag appply plang check muna nila state sponsorship lalo na kung hindi ganun kataas points nila

@glaiza1210 : so pag SS...hindi pataasan ng points? basta pasok sa requirements nila at hindi pa puno ang occupation ceiling...magiging positive ang result? this is great news lalo na dun sa mga kapos lang ng 5 points dati.

Reply to @hotshot: I think same pa din siguro yung process ng SS application at walang mababago dun. Kay DIAC lang talaga nakadepende lahat. Saka additional income din yung SS sa ibang states na may payment yung application kaya ok lang sa kanila yung mag nominate ng madami.

Hindi po pataasan sa SS, yan ang nakalagay sa expalantion sa skill select. Yung occupation ceiling tlga ang kalaban jan khit may SS kna e kapag nareach na pla yung occupation ceiling wala din. May nabasa ako DIAC's site na once na reach na yung ceiling iniinformed din nila mga states na hwag na sila mag sponsor. Saka khit nmn yung mga states may sariling occupation ceiling din. Kaya mas maaga mag EOI at mag pa apply ng SS, may mas malaking chance.

EOI first, then after EOI you can now apply for SS you will provide your EOI reference no. to the state so that when the SS application is approved, the state will give your EOI reference no. to DIAC to nominate your EOI reference no. for visa application. Dapat ang ilalagay mo sa EOI is you are applying for visa subclass 190 and you will only indicate the state that you've applied for SS. Highest pointer is more on independent visa applicants ata kse priority nila yung stae sponsored and employer sponsored.

My agent apply an EOI for me first, then after she finished the EOI and got the EOI reference no.. She applied for SA SS online. In one day nagawa nya yun kse complete na nmn documents ko. Then kahapon pina courier na yung hard copy ng mga docs ko sa SA Immigration.

yup.. tama nga.. for info nga i was reading WA SS din, and they ask for EOI reference number sa mga application...

Thanks....Blessing na din for me itong new policy at highly available pa din occupation ko.....kse last May nawawalan na ko ng pag asa sa OZ dream ko dahil sa skill select....IELTS kse problem ko hindi ako maka 7....buti nlang 6 lang ang requirement ng SA sa occupation ko. Sakto lang akong 60 points including yung state nomination.Kung pataasan ng score khit sa SS, ang plano ko partner skills kaya nag IELTS na din hubby and mag paassess sa Engineers Australia at mag IELTS ako dpat for the 3rd time..hehehe.....Buti nlang hindi na nmn gagawin yun, pero nag IELTS din si hubby last saturday. Laki din kseng budget pag nagIELTS ulit ako at nag paassess si hubby sa EA. Tapos hindi pa sure yun.... Thank you Lord! Eto na siguro right time for me. Sana magtuloy tuloy na.

Hi glaiza1210. Mukhang ok ang SS ng SA. Maraming skills na di mabigat and IELTS score and alang number of years work experience.

You mentioned sakto lang 60 points mo including State Nomination. Ibig ba sabihin nito kung 55 points lang ako and balak ko magpa-state sponsored ng SA pwede na ako mag EOI?

Next step after EOI is to apply for SS with Australia? So kung ma-approve ang SS na-meet mo na yung 60 points requirement dahil 5 points ang SS?

Hi to All! May question po ako, yun Financial Capacity po ba kailangan may proof na may ganto kang pera kapag dumating ka sa australia? in state sponsorship? naglodge na rin kasi kami ng wife ko ng SS sa SA and EOI sa diac. Worry ko lang yun show money na yun 25000 AUD kapag single and +5000 for every dependent. TIA!
