How soon before visa expires can one apply for another visa

I am taking the Bridging program for nurses and I have the Business visa subclass 600 because the course only takes three months.
My problem is, my commencement date for placement was moved and delayed for 3 weeks. The entire course will end the day my visa expires. Advice?
